Daniel L. “Buster” Robinson, 66, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Maytown, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Born on March 1, 1935, at Drift, he was the son of the late Clarence and Martha Richardson Robinson. He was a self employed painter.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Fricker Robinson.
Other survivors include four sons, Randy Robinson of Hippo, Danny Robinson of Riceville, Christopher Robinson of David, Paul Robinson of Indiana; one daughter, Charlotte Shepherd of Lexington; three brothers, Edward Robinson of Maytown, Ernest Robinson of Decatur, Alabama, Ballard Robinson of Eastern; one sister, Reba Halbert of Maytown; and 13 grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted Friday, April 27, at 1 p.m., at the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, with Rev. Bob Varney officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Garnett Pinkowski
Garnett Pinkowski, 76, of Paintsville, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at her residence.
She was born May 24, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Maxie Parsons LeMaster. She was a retired nurses aid and was a member of the Zebulon Baptist Church, in Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Pinkowski.
Survivors include one brother, Frank LeMaster of Baltimore, Maryland; and four sisters, Pearl Ellis of Langley, Agnes Rittenger and Joan Edlow, both of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jessie Murray of Paintsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 27, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, at Martin.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Garnett Pinkowski were Bill Cobb, Gifford Tackett, Mike Thomas, Everett Vanhoose, Shane Moore, Dwayne Gibson, James Davis, and Mike Spradlin.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Whitehouse.
Pina Mae Hall
Pina Mae Hall, 85, of Garrett, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, at Martin, following an extended illness.
She was born February 5, 1916, in Wise, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ned Little and Martha Ann Johnson Little. She was a member of the Rock Fork United Christian Baptist Church, at Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Ray Hall of Slemp, Jesse Hall Jr. of Martin; five daughters, Wilma Faye Smith of Langley, Doris Ann Patton and Wanda Joyce Case, both of Garrett, Cora Deloris Duncan of Prestonsburg, Mary Anna Davis of David; one sister, Rosie Hicks of Lafallotte, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 27, at 2 p.m., at the Rock Fork United Christian Baptist Church, Garrett, with the clergymen, Sterlin Bolen and Bethel Bolen, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Pina Mae Hall were Shawn Case, Chris Case, Jesse Hall III, John Eric Duncan, Ricky Smith, Rodney Smith, Greg Smith, Mike Hall, Mickey Hall, Brian Newman, and David Nichols.
Burial will be in the Seland Hall Cemetery, Left Fork, Dry Creek, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Susan Mae Spurlock
Susan Mae Spurlock, 82, of London, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at her son’s residence in London.
She was born January 9, 1919, in Floyd County, the daughter of the late James Milton and Laura Belle Crum Humble. She was a member of the Overland Church of Christ, at Lawrenceburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Spurlock.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Spurlock of London; five daughters, Janice A. Fraley of Urbana, Ohio, Pauletta Sears of London, Lana S. McKinney of Lexington, Anna L. Belcher of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Gwen L. Langley of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, Peggy Jo Damron of Robinson Creek; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Larry Morgan officiating.
Burial will be in the Meade Cemetery, at Printer.
Edgel Moore
Edgel Moore, 70, of Ivel, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.
Born on April 10, 1931, at Middle Creek, Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Linzie and Dona Shepherd Moore. He was a retired diesel mechanic.
Survivors include two sons, David Edgel Moore of Ivel, Daniel Joseph Moore of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Kathy Lynn Boyd of Ivel; and one brother, Edd Moore of Middle Creek, Prestonsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Moore Cemetery, Middle Creek, Prestonsburg.
Glen Allen Whitt
Glen Allen Whitt, 79, of Pikeville, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.
He was born May 10, 1921, in Endicott, the son of the late Columbus Whitt and Vata Blackburn Whitt. He was a retired Kentucky Power Company employee, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, at Pikeville, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Gearheart Whitt.
Other survivors include one daughter, Patricia Seegmiller of Huntington, West Virginia; two brothers, John Whitt of Burlington, Michigan, William C. Whitt of Taylor, Michigan; three sisters, Edna Whitt of Patriot, Ohio, Verdie Hamilton of Bay City, Michigan; Alma Payne of Southgate, Michigan, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, at Martin.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
Those serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Glen Allen Whitt were Adam Gearheart, Tyler Segmiller, Jacob Stone, Richard Abbott, David Abbott and Billy Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Lowe, Dean Conn and Mont Cline.
Loreda Conley
Loreda Conley, 72, of Wayland, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center, Ashland, following an extended illness.
Born on August 30, 1928, at Estill, she was the daughter of the late Buck Vanderpool and Ida Williams Vanderpool. She was a member of the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church at Estill.
She is survived by her husband, Bordie Conley.
Other survivors include one son, Gary Conley of Wayland, and one grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., at the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church, with James Red Morris and others officiating.
Burial was in the Jay Conley Cemetery, at Mousie, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Marie H. Martin
Marie H. Martin, 88, of Kite, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born May 27, 1912, at Kite, she was the daughter of the late Jethro and Rosie Meade Hall. She was a member of the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ibra Martin.
Survivors include three sons, Amon Martin of Kite, Anon Martin of Liberty, and Namon Martin of Topmost; two daughters, Mae Amburgey of Pinetop, and Rose Wiwi of Harrison, Ohio; two sisters, Anna Hampton of Lexington, and Goshen Hall of Kite; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., in the Rebecca Regular Baptist Church, at Kite.
Burial was in the Jethro Hall Cemetery, at Kite, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Pallbearers were Nathan Martin, Jamie Martin, Phillip Hicks, Austin Hicks, Jason Carrier, and Lee Gerald.
Ruth Miller Price
Ruth Miller Price, 70, of Prestonsburg, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
She was born October 24, 1930, in Prestonsburg, the daughter of the late German and Eliza Prater Miller. She was a retired assembly line worker with American Standard, and was a member of the United Steelworkers.
She is survived by three sons, William Frank Price Jr. of Texas City, Texas, James Cecil Price and Richard Gordon Price, both of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Ruth Ann Hobson of Prestonsburg; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg.
Burial was in the Mayo Cemetery in Prestonsburg.
