Sharon R. Casebolt, 45, of Wayland, Ky., died Sunday, January 6, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on May 18, 1956, at Glo, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Okie Collier Sr. and Leavodis Williams Collier. She was a homemaker and a member of the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Rickey Casebolt.
Other survivors include one son, Eric Shane Casebolt of Wayland, Ky.; one daughter, Leavodis Ann Casebolt of Wayland, Ky.; six brothers, Ronnie Collier of Columbus, Ohio, Charles Collier of Rock Camp, Ohio, Robert Collier of Stone, Ky., Bill Collier of Wayland, Ky., Johnnie Collier and Denver Collier, both of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Allene Amburgy of Shelby, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Slone, Jaculene Collier; and one brother, Okie Collier Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Estill, Ky., with James (Red) Morris officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation is at the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church.
Vicki Watkins
Vicki Watkins, age 53, of Worthington, Ky., formerly of Harold, Ky., passed away Sunday, January 6, 2002, at her residence in Worthington.
She was born February 4, 1948, in Harold, Ky., the daughter of Ezella Boyd Watkins of Worthington, Ky., and the late Oscar Watkins.
Vicki was a bookkeeper and was a member of the Vogel-Day United Methodist Church, Harold, Ky.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Nina Watkins of Worthington, Ky., and two aunts, Addie Bea Hall of Harold, Ky.; and Arcolas Allen of Banner, Ky.
Funeral services for Vicki Watkins will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with the clergyman, Dennis Love, officiating.
Burial will follow in the the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Alice V. Williams
Alice V. Williams, age 84, of Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away Sunday, January 7, 2002, at the Highland Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky., after an extended illness.
She was born October 21, 1917, at Betsy Layne, Ky., a daughter of the late O.J. and Oneida (Howse) Williams. She was a teacher and librarian at Betsy Layne High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Prestonsburg, Ky.
She is survived by one son, John Stewart of Prestonsburg, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Jackie Collins of Toledo, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at 11 a.m., from the Burke Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, Ky., with Dr. Floyd Price officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, Ky., under the direction of Burke Funeral Home, Prestonsburg.

Mary Magdaline Osborne
Mary Magdaline Osborne, age 64, of Eastern, Ky., wife of Romie Gene Osborne, passed away Monday, January 7, 2002, at her residence in Eastern.
She was born September 13, 1937, in Martin, Ky., the daughter of the late Denver Amburgey and Oma Melton Amburgey Mullins.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra McGarey and Debbie Steffey, both of Eastern, Ky.; one sister, Martha Combs of Raven, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Derek Kyle McGarey, and Ashley Nicole Steffey.
Funeral services for Mary Osborne will be conducted Thursday, January 10, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Clergyman Gary Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery, Eastern, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Verna Mae Hicks
Verna Mae Hicks, 72, of Wilmington, Ohio, formerly of Martin, Ky., died Thursday, January 3, 2002, at the Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, Ohio.
Born on June 3, 1929, in Risner, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James Hale and Sarah Prater Hale. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Burnis Hicks.
Other survivors include one son, Bill (Shirley) Hicks of Wilmington Ohio; three daughters, Carol Vance of Mason, Ohio, Pam (Edward) Fizer of Sabina, Ohio, Malesa Smith of Maineville, Ohio; two brothers, Clyde (Brenda) Hale of Martin, Ky., Lawrence (Iley) Hale of Prestonsburg, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jeanette (Mike) Coady, Mark Vance, Krista (William) Rowe, Jarrod Hicks, Sarah Fizer and Ashley Fizer; one great-grandchild, Corinne Coady.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Hale, and four sisters, Pearly Prater, Thelma Ousley, Okea Haywood, and Virginia Adkins.
Services will be conducted Monday, January 7, 2002, at noon, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Ohio, with Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating.
Burial will be in the Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio, under the direction of Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, Wilmington, Ohio.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Walter Raleigh (W.R.) Barnett
Walter Raleigh (W.R.) Barnett, 87, of Martin, Ky., died Monday, December 31, 2001, following an extended illness.
Born on January 28, 1914, in Floyd County, Ky., he was the son of the late A.B. and Polkie Halbert Barnett. He was retired from the C&O Railway and was a member of the Light House Independent Church, Prestonsburg, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Wright Barnett.
Other survivors include five sons, Taulbee Barnett of Taylor, Michigan, Robert G. Barnett of Lexington, Ky., Billy Barnett of Martin, Ky., Walter R. Barnett Jr. of Nicholasville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Darby Barnett; three brothers, Robert Barnett, John Quincy Barnett, and Willard Barnett; four sisters, Maggie Hall, Nora Turner, Bessie Flannery and Fannie Barnett.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 3, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Don Crisp officiating.
Burial was in the Barnett Cemetery, Martin, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Lula Martin
Lula Martin, age 87, of Eastern, Ky., passed away Friday, December 28, 2001, at her residence.
She was born November 15, 1914, in Eastern, Ky., the daughter of the late Walter “Hoosh” Martin and Catherine Webb Martin. She was a retired teacher for the Floyd County School System, and was a member of the Maytown Baptist Church for 43 years.
Survivors include one son, Ken L. Gayheart of Lexington, Ky.; one daughter, Rita Stewart of Mt. Eden, Ky.; one brother, Dr. Henry Martin of Richmond, Ky.; two sisters, Golda Salyers and Minnie Conley, both of Eastern, Ky.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver Martin and Charles Martin; and one sister, Belva Martin.
Funeral services for Lula Martin were conducted Monday, December 31, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with the clergyman, Bob Varney, officiating.
Burial was in the Martin Cemetery, Eastern, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
