Helena Rubestine Clark Hall, 76, of Lexington, formerly of Pikeville, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born in Pike County, June 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Nie Clark Clark and Willie E. Clark. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pikeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Scott Hall and Dennis Lee Hall, both of Lexington; one brother, William Paris (Billy) Clark of Somerset; three grandchildren, Robert Scott Hall II, Dennis Allen Hall, and Jason Coolidge Hall; and one great grandchild, Jacob Gage Hall.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Willie Edford Hall, and one brother, James Andrew (Butch) Clark.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 15, at the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Richard L. Tackett
Richard L. Tackett, age 71, of David, husband of Margie Shepherd Tackett, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
He was born January 17, 1932, in Floyd County, a son of the late Greenbury and Emma Hamilton Tackett. He was a disabled veteran, and attended the Martin First Baptist Church and Caney Bible Church, and was a lifetime member of the Betsy Layne Chapter of the DAV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dana Tackett of Grethel, and Rita Merrill of Beattyville; two brothers, Ermal Tackett of Harold, and Willie D. Tackett of South Shore; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death were one son, Rick Tackett; three brothers, Donnie Tackett, Joe Lykins, and Taulby Lykins; and one sister, Clara Clark.
Funeral services for Richard L. Tackett were held Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a.m., in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Russ Taylor officiating.
Burial was in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
Pallbearers: Von Bailey, Dwayne Akers, Brad Kimbler, Dale Kimbler, Waren Merrell, and Milford Clark.
Tramble Turner
Tramble Turner, age 90, of Allen, husband of Tula Frances Hobbs Turner, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003, in the Lexington Country Place Nursing Home, Lexington.
He was born April 5, 1913, in Hueysville (Bosco), the son of the late J.M. “Morg” Turner and Emma Hayes Turner. He was a retired Standard Oil distributor, a member of the Hueysville Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, a member of James W. Alley Lodge No. 869, Wayland, a 32nd degree Mason for 63 years, and a member of the Martin Kiwanis Club for 40 years.
Survivors include one son, Lionel “Joe” Turner of Ringgold, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Rusty Fraley, Lois Taylor, Sara Levine, Myra Jo Hurt, Carol Ruiz, Dr. Tramble Tom Turner, and Lewis Smith; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tharon “Potsy” Fraley; two brothers, Hatler Turner and Ezra Turner; one sister, Zeda Turner; two grandchildren, Bruce Fraley and Jo Betty Turner.
Funeral services for Tramble Turner will be conducted Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Clergyman Chester Varney officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation is at the funeral home, where Masonic services were conducted Tuesday, April 8.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, Ky. 40502.

Luther “CatBird” Hall
Luther “CatBird” Hall, age 67, Longview Drive, Harrodsburg, husband of Joyce Tackett Hall, died Saturday April 5, 2003, at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
He was born September 24, 1935, at Grethel, in Floyd County, the son of the late John and Goldie Hall. He retired as a truck driver for Bizzack Construction Company. His hobbies included restoring old automobiles, and gardening.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Vickie Justice of Pikeville, Lisa Cummins of Danville, and Elizabeth Hale of Crab Orchard; three brothers, Edgar Hall and Roy Hall, both of Harold, and Gary Hall of Berea; one sister, Maggie Adkins of Harold; two grandchildren, Kayla Cummins and Jordan Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
Interment was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Louie J. Hamilton
Louie J. Hamilton, 27, of Teaberry, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his residence.
Born August 31, 1975, in Marshall, Michigan, he was the son of Emmitt (Cat) Hamilton of Teaberry, and the late Maxine Reynolds Hamilton. He was a coal miner.
Survivors in addtion to his father, include three brothers, Jackie Dean Hamilton, Kevin Johnson, and Philip Hamilton, all of Teaberry; three sisters, Randa Hamilton, Pattie Hopkins, and Sandy Johnson, all of Teaberry; four nephews, Jared Hamilton, Corbin Hamilton, Kevin O’Brian Johnson, and Michael Lee Martin; five nieces, Abrielle Hamilton, Savannah Hamilton, Keshia Johnson, Tonya Johnson, and Brittany Johnson.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Forrest Donnley Hamilton.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 9, at noon, at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church, at Teaberry, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the John Hamilton Jr., Cemetery, at Teaberry, under direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the church.
Bertha (Ted) Wallen Wright
Bertha (Ted) Wallen Wright, 91, of Garrett, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
Born December 21, 1911, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Lizzy Ratliff Wallen. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Stone Coal Old Regular Baptist Church, at Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Malcom Wright.
Survivors include one brother, Russell Wallen of Garrett; and one sister, Audrey May Hicks of Garrett.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Wallen, Beverage Wallen, Lawrence Wallen, Earl Wallen; and three sisters, Gertie Vanderpool, Artie Patrick, and Virgie Shepherd.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 7, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Scott Family Cemetery, at Garrett, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Freda Conley Scott
Freda Conley Scott, age 78, of Stone Coal Road, Garrett, widow of Lessley B. O. Scott, passed away Friday, April 4, 2003, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, Martin.
She was born March 10, 1925, in Garrett, the daughter of the late Pearl Conley and Kate Robinson Conley.
Survivors include one son, Charles D. Martin of Homer, Michigan; one brother, Millard Conley of Albion, Michigan; one sister, Aileen Howard of Garrett; two grandchildren, Tina Marie Rocco and Angela Elaine Warren; three great-grandchildren, Samuel David Rocco, Garrett Michael Warner, and Lauren Noelle Warner.
Funeral services for Freda Conley Scott were conducted Monday, April 7, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Clergymen Bethel Bolen, Jerry Manns, and Donnie Hackworth officiating.
Burial was in the Scott Cemetery, Stone Coal Road, at Garrett, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
