Cleburn McDaniels, 83, of Minnie, died Tuesday, November 27, 2000, at the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born December 4, 1917, in Breathitt County, the son of the late John McDaniels and Mollie Patrick McDaniels. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A
He was preceded in death by his wife, Perlinia McDaniels.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin Sizemore of Martin, James Arthur Sizemore of Warsaw, Indiana; one step daughter, Eva Carpenter of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, George McDaniels of Kendallville, Indiana; two sisters, Dovie Collins of Martin, Lula Hall of Mt. Sterling; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 30, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergyman, Nathan Lafferty, officiating.
Burial was in the Tuttle Cemetery, at Minnie, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Harvey Sizemore, Eugene Sizemore, Darrell Sizemore, Jimmy Click, Calvin Sizemore and Brandon Sizemore.
May Dillon Hale
May Dillon Hale, 75, of Prestonsburg, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.
Born on December 4, 1924, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Dillon and Celia Merritt Dillon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Constable Willie Hale.
Survivors include one son, Willie Lee Hale of Banner; two daughters, Mary Hale Kilburn of Prestonsburg, Linda May Salisbury of Martin; one brother, William Dillon of Prestonsburg; three sisters, June Collins, Gladys Dillon, and Dean Fairchild, all of Prestonsburg, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 2, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Herman Roberts and Buddy Jones officiating.
Burial will be in the Mayo Cemetery, Prestonsburg, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Russell Harris
Russell Harris, 91, of Crossville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at the Cumberland Medical Center.
Born on November 22, 1909, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Edward and Nancy Gobel Harris.
He was a retired custodian.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Harris of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Adrian Harris of Horton, Michigan, David Harris of Crossville, Tennessee, Walker and Harris Fred Harris, both of Bellville, Michigan; and one daughter, Jane Tackett of Crossville, Tennessee, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Burris Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m., with Delmer McCowen officiating.
Burial will be in the Crossville City Cemetery, under the direction of Burris Funeral Home.

Viola Chambers
Viola Chambers, 64, of Teaberry, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born on November 18, 1936, in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bessie Hill Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rannel Chambers.
Survivors include four sons, John Wayne Chambers of Teaberry, Lester Chambers of Portsmouth, Ohio, Jimmy Ray Riley of Illinois, Kennith Darrell Riley of Ypsilanti, Michigan; two daughters, Kathleen Isaacs and Judy Ann Isaacs, both of Teaberry; one sister, Burnis of Illinois; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m., at the United Christian Church of God, at Hi Hat, with Bill Slone and others officiating.
Burial will be in the Chambers Cemetery, in Lee County, under the direction of the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Wesley D. “Red” Giles
Wesley D. “Red” Giles, 55, of Banner, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born on January 23, 1945, in Danville, Virginia, he was the son of Flora Dodd Giles of Danville, Virginia, and the late William Henry “Bill” Giles. He was a self-employed general contractor.
He is survived by his wife Wyvonna Meade Giles.
Other survivors include one stepson, Gary Kinzer of Pikeville; one brother, Robert Giles of Dry Fork, Virginia; one sister, Betty Motley of Danville, Virginia; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 1, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Evangelist Bennie Blankenship officiating.
Burial will be in the Giles Family Cemetery, Rice Branch, Banner, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Harlen W. Slone
Harlen W. Slone, 54, of Leburn, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born on July 25, 1946, in Knott County, he was the son of the late Lester and Susie Johnson Slone. He was a disabled foundry worker, a member of the Ivy Point Old Regular Baptist Church, Hindman.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Ann Francis Slone.
Other survivors include two sons, Rolan Slone and Jason Dwayne Slone, both of Leburn; one daughter, Robin Nichole Slone of Leburn; three sisters, Helen Jean Slone of Rome City, Indiana, Ellen Jacobs of Pippa Passes, and Mattie Allen of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 2, at 1 p.m., at the Ivy Point Old Regular Baptist Church, Hindman, with Alonzo Mosley, Willie Vernon Slone, Darrell Slone and Keith Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in the Slone Jacobs Cemetery, Pippa Passes, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Michael Francis, Ricky Casebolt, Cledith Slone, Johnny Combs, Odis Jacobs, and Rolan and Jason Slone.

Geraldine Endicott
Geraldine Endicott, 38, of Ewing, formerly of Floyd County, died Friday, August 25, 2000, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born on May 24, 1962, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of Emogene Burchett of Endicott, and the late T.Y. "Chester" Jarrell.
She is survived by her husband, Ezra Endicott.
Other survivors include one son, Billy Ray Endicott of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Donna Kay Endicott of Ewing; and one sister, Mitzi Hall of Endicott.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 27, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Bill Collins officiating.
Burial was in the Goble Cemetery, at Endicott, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Lynn Tucker, Villy Endicott, Jeremy Jarrell, Tim Justice, Andy Collins, Charles Endicott, Ronnie Jarrell and Charlie Fulford.
