Born in McDowell, she moved to Central Florida in 1980 from McDowell. She was a member of the Hardshell Baptist Church, in McDowell, and was a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include one daughter, Regenna Roberts of Chuluota, Florida; one son, Crus David Gallagher of Maryville, Tennessee; two brothers, Elisha Gayheart of St. Petersburg, Florida, Teddy Gayheart of Arizona; three sisters, Ocie Gamble of Forest City, Florida, Madge Crocker of Sanford, Florida, Rhonda Singleton of Louisville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the Northside Baptist Church, Chuluote.
Burial was in the Chulotta Cemetery, under the direction of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home.
Clyde Clark
Clyde Clark, 91, of West Prestonsburg, died Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center.
He was born on December 12, 1908 at Endicott, the son of the late Dick and Maud Spears Clark. He was a welder with the Princess Elkhorn Coal Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Stumbo Clark.
He is survived by one brother, Tom Ed Clark of Prestonsburg, and one sister, Norma Sue Pigg of Prestonsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 15, at 1 p.m., at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with the Rev. Clifford Austin officiating.
Burial will be in the Stumbo Cemetery at West Prestonsburg, under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Wimpy Clark, John Thomas Clark, David May, Joe Arthur Burchett, Cory Vicars and Toby Bagett.
Walter Frasure
Walter Frasure, age 77, of Allen, Kentucky, husband of the late Rosemary Malone Frasure, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2000, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky, following a long illness.
He was born March 7, 1923, in Minnie, Kentucky, the son of the late James Frasure and Susan Mosley Frasure. Mr. Frasure was a teacher in the Floyd County School System for 16 years, a Professor and Guidance Counselor at the Prestonsburg Community College for 26 years, a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW, Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and an avid sportsman, golfer, dirt track racing fan and U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include one son, Jim Bill Frasure, Allen, Kentucky; one daughter, Sharon Martin, Lexington, Kentucky, a special friend, Mary Anne Hall, Allen, Kentucky; one sister, Lorraine Woods, Frankfort, Kentucky, a brother-in-law, William P. Malone, Louisville, Kentucky, and two grandchildren, Lisa Prater and Walter Patrick Martin.
Funeral services for Walter Frasure will be conducted Saturday, September 16, 2000, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Kentucky, with the clergyman, Arnold Turner Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky, under the professional care of Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Walter Frasure were Mike Faulkner, Howard Higgins, Jeff Staton, Tommy Westfall Jr., Mike Hall, Brandon Kinzer, Brad Worrix, and Jimmy Ray Key.
Visitation, after 5:00 p.m., Thursday, and after 8:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Polly Stephens Dingus
Polly Stephens Dingus, 96, widow of Lewis Parker Dingus, lifelong resident of Martin, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home at Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was born on July 17, 1904, the daughter of the late Newton and Anne Flannery Stephens. Mrs. Dingus was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Virginia Viers, and her husband, Jimmy W. Viers of Blacksburg, Virginia. Her son-in-law, Charles McDavid of Martin, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Brent Douglas Viers of Lancaster, California, and Dawn Renae Viers-Yaun of Blacksburg, Virginia; her brother, Alex Stephens of Martin, Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth McDavid, and her son, Mark Heber Dingus.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, September 15, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Kentucky, with the elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dingus family cemetery at Hite, Kentucky, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Polly Stephens Dingus were Philip Arthur Dingus, Arnold Hall, Dick Barnett, Kent Dingus, Charles I. Dingus, Walk Spencer, Russell Hunter, Jerry McGarey, Lemayne Dingus, Stevie Barnett and J. R. Osborne.
Honorary pallbearers were Philip Dingus, Furman Dingus, Alex Stephens, Ben Hale, Jim Meade, Johnny Ross, and Burl Scott.

Larie Johnson Lovejoy
Larie Johnson Lovejoy, 65, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Halo, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at O.S.U. in Ohio, after a brief illness.
She had lived in Ohio for 48 years. She worked at Atlas Laundry for 22 years. She retired from Mt. Carmel Hospital after 25 years.
She was born May 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Willie and Delphia Bryant Johnson, formerly of Halo.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Roy Lovejoy.
Other survivors include two sons, Stevie Lovejoy of Columbus, Michael Lovejoy of Canton, Ohio; four daughters, Vickie Crooks of Canton, Ohio, Marie Lovejoy, Betty Lovejoy, Laurie Lovejoy, all of Columbus; three brothers, Allen Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Everigt Johnson, all of Huntington, Indiana; three sisters, Millie Skeans of Martin, Betty Isaac of Wheelwright, Glenda McDowell of Huntington, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 28, at 11:30 a.m., at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel with the Rev. Jay Justice officiating.
Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
Hayden K. Milligan
Hayden K. Milligan, 81, of Prestonsburg, died Sunday, September 10, 2000, after an extended illness.
Survivors include four sons, Kevin A. Milligan of Prestonsburg, Hayden W. Milligan, and Larry W. Milligan, both of Lexington, Danny W. Milligan of Winchester; three daughters, Brenda Milligan-Silverman of Florida, Jamie Renee Milligan of Richmond, Kay Milligan-McGuire of Prestonsburg; one granddaughter, Larissa J. Milligan; four grandsons, Adam R. McGuire, Jason T. Milligan, Nicholas L. McGuire, Sean H. McGuire; and one great-grandson, Justice T. Milligan.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
Irvin Shepherd
Irvin Shepherd Sr., 67, of David, died Sunday, September 10, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, after an illness of one month.
Born on November 27, 1932, at David, he was the son of the late Norman and Grace Allen Shepherd. He was a construction worker and a former Floyd County Road Foreman, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Irvin Shepherd Jr. of Blue River; two daughters, Sybel Lois Johnson of Blue River, Linda Grace Campbell of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Denver Shepherd and Orville Shepherd, both of David; one sister, Sally Wallen of Panama City, Florida; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 13, 1 p.m., at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with Rev. Ellis Stephens officiating.
Burial will be in the Shepherd Family Cemetery at David, under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
Lucy Hicks
Lucy Hicks, 72, of Topmost, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, Martin, following an extended illness.
Born on October 14, 1927, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah and Lona Caudill Hall. She was a member of the Rose of Sharon Old Regular Baptist Church in Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Hicks.
Survivors include three sons, Blaine Hicks, Duane Hicks, and Carl Lee Hicks, all of Michigan; one daughter, Emma Jean Peppers, of Michigan; five brothers, Jonah Hall, and Russell Hall, both of Topmost, Lawrence Hall of Shaumberg, Illinois, Clarence Hall of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Freddie Hall of Elyria, Ohio; six sisters, Ocie Smith of Wichita Kansas, Socie Osborne of Dema, Daisy Hicks of Taylor, Michigan, Norma Bergeron of Punta Gorda, Florida, JoAnna Collins of Greenfield, Indiana, Nadean Thornsberry of Topmost; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 12, at 11 a.m., at the Providence Old Regular Baptist Church, at Topmost, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Joe Hall Cemetery, at Topmost, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Ocie Ratliff
Ocie Ratliff, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Hippo, died Friday, September 9, 2000, at the Floyd Memorial Hospital, New Albany, Indiana.
Born on March 16, 1918, in Hippo, she was the daughter of the late Robert Adkins and Gracie Ratliff Adkins. She was a clerk for M. Fine and Sons for 30 years, and was a member of the Philadelphia Regular Baptist Church, Hippo.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Faye Clark of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Anna Rae Dooley of New Albany, Indiana; two sisters, Edna Bailey and Thelma Frasure both of Hueysville, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, September 12, at 1 p.m., at the Adkins Cemetery, Hueysville, with the Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
