Raymond Hall, 61, of Bevinsville, died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, following a brief illness.
Born on August 30, 1939, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Wilburn and Flurinda Davis Hall. He was a disabled service station attendant.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Johnson Hall.
Survivors include two step-sons, Christopher Caudill and Justin Caudill, both of Bevinsville; one step-daughter, Amber Berger, of Bevinsville; three brothers, Gerard Kinner Hall of Erie, Pennsylvania, Wilburn Hall Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Zenith Hall of Bevinsville; three sisters, Willene Hall and Ruby Bates, both of Bevinsville, and Shirley Browning of Washington Courthouse, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 12, at 11 a.m., at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Louis Ferrari officiating.
Burial was in the Johnson Family Cemetery, at Bevinsville, under the direction of the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Fred L. Dickerson
Fred L. Dickerson, 86, of Inez, died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.
Born on December 1, 1913, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Z.S. Dickerson and Bertha Alley Dickerson. He was a retired self employed businessman. He was a 50-year member and Past Master of Zebulon Lodge 273 F&AM, Prestonsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Mills Dickerson.
Other survivors include one brother, Z.S. Dickerson Jr. of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and one sister, Josephine Meadows of Prestonsburg.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 11, 1 p.m., at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, with Mike Crum officiating.
Burial was in the Mills Family Cemetery, on Turkey Creek, under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
Ida May Johnson
Ida May Johnson, 82, of Alger, Ohio, died Monday, September 11, 2000, at her residence.
Born on June 19, 1918, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Acro and Luranie Stephens Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ell Johnson.
She attended the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God of Alger, Ohio.
Survivors include one brother, Willard "Hattie" Castle of Ada, Ohio; two sisters, Bessie Prater of Alger, Ohio, and Virginia Sprang of Dunkirk, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 15, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, Ohio, with Rev. James Holbrook officiating.
Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio, under the direction of Hanson-Neely Funeral Home.
Eugene Rose
Eugene Rose, 54, of Harold, died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.
Born on March 29, 1946, in Floyd County, he was the son of Thelma Rose Brown and the late Cecil Kidd. He was the stepson of Sherman Brown, of Wellington. He was a disabled miner and Vietnam army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Cecil Rose.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Eugene Rose of Jefferson City, Tennessee, Matthew Thomas Rose of Shelbiana; one brother, Billy Ray Cline of Wellington; and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 13, 1 p.m., at the J.W. Call Funeral Home, with James Hubert Harmon and Tracy Patton officiating.
Burial will be in the Hunt Family Cemetery in Boldman, under the direction of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home.
James V. Jarrell
James V. Jarrell, 65, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Dana, died Thursday, August 31, 2000.
Born on May 2, 1935, in Dana, he was the son of the late Bruce and Birdie Jarrell. He was a former General Motors employee.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Spurling Jarrell.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lowana "Cricki" and Candice Jarrell; three sisters, Anna Rae Boyd, Margaret Boyette and Uvon Fruciano; three brothers, Clifford Jarrell, Troy Jarrell, and Gary Jarrell.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 5, at 11 a.m., at the Union Grove Baptist Church, Sunbright, Tennessee.
Burial was in the Union Grove Cemetery, Sunbright, Tennessee.

Jeanette Kiser Johnson
Jeanette Kiser Johnson, 81, of Dry Creek at Topmost, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at Hazard Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Born July 30, 1919, at Topmost, she was the daughter of the late Alonza and Eveline Cook Kiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Johnson.
She is survived by three sons, Otis Dathan Johnson of Halo, and Alexzander Johnson and Woodrow Johnson Jr., both of Dry Creek; a daughter, Gloria Gay Overstreet of Wellington, Ohio; a brother, Vernon Kiser of Cambridge, Ohio; two sisters, Olive Johnson of Halo, and Mildred Sexton of Knoxville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for today, Sunday, September 10, at noon, at the Joe Hall Cemetery at Dry Creek, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin is in charge of arrangements.
Brenda Carol Salisbury
Brenda Carol Salisbury, 46, of Toler Creek at Harold, died Wednesday, September 6, 2000, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born November 30, 1953, the daughter of the late Dewey Wayne and Pauline Scott Salisbury. She was disabled.
She is survived by a brother, John Salisbury of Bronx, New York; a half-brother, Joe Salisbury; and a half-sister, Beverly Thompson.
A night service was conducted on Thursday, September 7, at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home at Martin, with Rev. Tommy Spears officiating.
Burial was to be in the Scott Family Cemetery in Heber Springs, Arkansas, under the direction of Olmstead Funeral Home.
Dennis Edward Slone
Dennis Edward Slone, 48, of Prestonsburg, formerly of Reading, Michigan, died Tuesday, September 5, 2000, at the home of his parents, John and Eileen Hagans Slone, in Prestonsburg.
He was born July 16, 1952, in Troy, Ohio. He was a retired sergeant guard with the Michigan Department of Corrections. He attended the Middle Creek Baptist Church at Blue River.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christa Dormey Slone of Reading; three step-sons, Jorma Whitaker of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Josh Whitaker and Jake Hunter, both of Reading; a step-daughter, Autumn Hunter of Missoula, Montana; a brother, Mike Slone of Coldwater, Michigan; three sisters, Michelle McCarty of St. Paris, Ohio, Renee Harris of Coldwater, Michigan, and Sue Yates of David; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 9, at 2 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel at Martin, with the clergyman Vernon Slone officiating. Burial is to follow in the Hagans Cemetery at Warco, Langley.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers are Caleb Yates, Joshua Yates, Ancil Slone, Terry Slone, Aginal Slone, David Hagans, Larry Smith and Tim Woodburn. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Whitaker, Jake Hunter, Cameron Shepherd, Kurt Schultz, Hal Liechty, Earsten Skaggs, Lesslee Skaggs and Alan Hagans.
Robert Hall
Robert Hall, 78, of Robinson Creek, died Sunday, September 3, 2000, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
He was born September 11, 1921, at Teaberry, a son of the late Talt and Nanny Hall. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Hall; five sons, Jimmy Hall of West Moreland, Tennessee, James Hall of Romulus, Michigan, Tommy Hall of Newport, and Clyde Hall and Burnis Hall, both of Robinson Creek; three daughters, Patty Compton of River Rouge, Michigan, Olive Pearl Caylor of Ecorse, Michigan, and Juanita Hall of Robinson Creek; one sister, Nellie Newsome of Beaver, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Chester and Junior Hall.
Funeral services are today, September 6, at 11 a.m. at the R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home Virgie Chapel. Ministers are Dewey Roberts, Monroe Jones, Teddy Honaker, Vernon Damron and Leonard Kiser. Interment will be in the Sam Hall Cemetery at Bear Fork of Robinson Creek.
