Doris Ann Congleton, 48, of Raven, died Thursday, June 16, 2000, at Dema, following an automobile accident.
Born on October 23, 1951, in Lackey, she was the daughter of Avanell Johnson Gibson of Raven, and the late Edison Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Michael Jenkins.
She is survived by her husband, Oran Congleton.
Other survivors include three sons, Jerry Michael Jenkins Jr. and Jeremy Neil Jenkins, both of Raven, Kevin Ray Jenkins of Lancaster; one daughter, Alisha Deann Congleton of Raven; three brothers, Jimmy Ray Gibson and Charles William Gibson, both of Raven, and Claude Randall Gibson, of Lexington; two sisters, Kathy Cook of Topmost and Faye Weddington of Pikeville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 18, at 11 a.m., at the Hollybush Old Regular Baptist Church, Pippa Passes, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Gibson Family Cemetery, at Raven, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Edward C. "Ed" Music
Edward Cecil "Ed" Music, 76, a retired businessman and civic leader, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home in Prestonsburg, of cancer.
He was born May 12, 1924, at Little Paint, a son of the late Sam K. and Nora Davis Music.
He was the retired president of Music-Carter-Hughes automobile dealership and was involved in other business, as well as civic, activities.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Keath Music; two daughters, Peggy M. Carter (Estill) of Prestonsburg and Judy M. Shaw (Kerry) of Stanton; one sister, Goldie M. Collins of Prestonsburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at the Little Paint First Church of God at East Point, with Rev. Wayne Burch officiating. Burial is to follow in the Richmond Memorial Cemetery in Prestonsburg. Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Serving as active pallbearers for the funeral of Ed Music were: Lee Carter, Chris Carter, Barry Rice, Steve Rice, Jeremy Watkins, Matt Hale, Larry Huff and Mike Sergent.

Peggy Faye Hall
Peggy Faye Hall, 61, of Bevinsville, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, following a brief illness.
She was born May 17, 1939, in Floyd County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lizzie Jacobs Slone. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Charles Collins; two sons, Charles Hall Jr. and Bobby Joe Hall, both of Huntington, Indiana; one daughter, Charlene Sue Poe of Huntington, Indiana; three brothers, Russell and Ellis Slone of Bevinsville and Robert Lee Slone of Martin; five sisters, Hester Slone and Lonnie Tackett of Melvin, Gertie Smallwood, Gracie Adkins and Hazel Slone, all of Bevinsville; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the Little Rock Old Regular Baptist Church in Bevinsville, with Delmas Johnson and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery in Bevinsville.
Kermit Castle
Kermit Castle, 67, of Ada, Ohio, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 23, 1933, in Floyd County, he was the son of Ark and Mary Hicks Castle. He was a barber for more than 40 years and was the owner and operator of Kerm's Barber Shop in Ada. He was a member of the Ada VFW Post 9381, and a member of conservation clubs in Liberty and McGuffey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Bailey.
Survivors include one daughter, Jenifer Morrow of Cincinnati; six sisters, Trylbia Prater of Ada; Glenna Moser of Bluffton; Shelba Dingledine of Harrod, Melba Williams of Columbus, Sylvia Patrick of Florida, and Gladys Marie Castle of Colorado; and two brothers, Jessy Castle of Indiana and Kenneth Castle of Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Dick Parker officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada, under the direction of Hanson-Neely Funeral Home.

Mae Holt
Mae Holt, 74, of Saybrook, Ohio, died Monday, June 12, 2000, at her home.
Born on July 5, 1925 in Covington, the daughter of Millard and Delores Haulderman Martin and has lived in Ashtabula County most of her life.
Before returning to the area in 1999, she lived and worked in Harold, for her son-in-law in his furniture store. She retired as secretary of the Jefferson Eagles Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Holt.
She is survived by one daughter, Deloris Hamilton, of Saybrook, Township; one son, Richard Kent Smith of Flagstaff, Arizona; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 15, at the Lily of the Valley Church, Old Regular Baptist, Geneva, with Squire Hamilton officiating.
Burial was in the Ridgeview Cemetery, Ashtabula, under the direction of Ducro Funeral Services.
Fred Thompson
Fred Thompson, 64, of Peebles, Ohio, formerly of Wheelwright, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Ohio.
Born on March 9, 1936, in Wheelwright, he was the son of the late George Thompson and Oma Hall Thompson. He retired from the United States Air Force, was a member of the American Legion, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Hodge Thompson.
Other survivors include four sons, Fred Thompson, Keith Thompson, Larry Thompson, and Mark Thompson, all of Peebles, Ohio; two daughters, Loretta Henderson of Winchester, Ohio, Carrie Thompson of Lexington; two brothers, Tom Thompson of Kite, Ted Thompson of Stanville; one sister, Loretta Martin of Wayland; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 8, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergyman, Lonnie Badger, officiating.
Burial was in the Joe Hall Cemetery, Dry Creek, Topmost, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
Olden Burke
Olden Burke, 67, of Lima, Ohio, formerly of Knott County, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at the Richland Manor in Beaverdam, Ohio.
Born on April 19, 1933, in Wheelwright, he was the son of Wiley Burke, of Halo, and the late Flotilla Childers Burke.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Burke.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and father, include one daughter, Penny Main of North Carolina; two brothers, Wiley Burke Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Boone Burke of Ashland; four sisters, Alma Dawson of Kite, Opal Bentley of McDowell, Missouri Bentley of Halo, and Tennessee Placktus of Detroit, Michigan; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 11, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, with Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Calhoun Gayheart Cemetery at Hindman, under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.
Hazel Blankenship Gooden
Hazel Blankenship Gooden, 82, of Weeksbury, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in the Pikeville Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born on March 15, 1918, in Weeksbury, she was the daughter of the late W.M. Blankenship and Manilla Tackett Blankenship. She was a member of the Weeksbury Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Gooden.
Survivors include one brother, Bennie Blankenship, Prestonsburg; two sisters, Ladine Moore of Virgie, and Eva Mae Hall of Weeksbury.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m., at the Weeksbury Church of Christ, with the clergyman, Mike Hall, officiating.
Burial was in the Blankenship Cemetery, Weeksbury, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.

Timothy MacDouglas Hagans
Timothy MacDouglas Hagans, 20, of Langley, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
Born on January 27, 1980, in Martin, he was the son of Mack and Patricia Slone Hagans of Langley. He was a construction worker and was a 1998 graduate of Allen Central High School.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his paternal grandfather, Bill Hagans of Langley; maternal grandmother, Mary Moore Howell of McDowell; maternal great-grandmother, Laura Honaker Howard of Manchester, Indiana; one brother, Dougie Hagans of Betsy Layne; two sisters, Teresa Hagans and Lisa Hagans, both of Langley.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 15, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Charlene Osborne officiating.
Burial will be in the Hagans Cemetery, at Langley, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
