Kentucky Marriage Records by County

George P. Blankenship
George Paris Blankenship, 83, of Wayland, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born November 24, 1916, in Johnson County, the son of the late Milt and Myrtle Parsley Blankenship. He was a retired coal miner, a World War II Army veteran, and a member of the Monroe Vanderpool Memorial DAV Chapter 128, Garrett.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Owsley Blankenship; two sons, Dennis Crisp of Topmost and Terry W. Crisp of Estill; a daughter, Gwendolyn Sue Hall of Pound, Virginia; a brother, Charles Blankenship of Charlotte, South Carolina; three sisters, Avenell Quisenberry of Madison, West Virginia; Opal Caudill and Ella Mae Wray, both of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 12, at the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church in Estill, with minister James Morris and other Freewill Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial followed in the Richmond Cemetery in Prestonsburg, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home of Martin.
Pallbearers were Chad Crisp, Terry Crisp, Carter Hall, Roger Watkins, Marvin C. Moore, Darrell Owsley and Daniel Quisenberry.

Nadine White
Nadine White, 60, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Knott County, died Monday, November 6, 2000, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Born on August 3, 1940, in Hindman, she was the daughter of the late Ase and Janie Collins Mosley.
She is survived by her huband, Joseph L. White.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mabel Jane White of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Sheldon Mosley of Hindman; three sisters Louise Lemmings of Litt Carr, Bonnie Reynolds of Mallie, Willa Dean Combs of Hindman; one half-sister, Faye Slone of Mousie.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 10, at 11 a.m., at the Cross Roads Community Baptist Church in Odgen, Hindman, with Cullen Caudill and others officiating.
Burial will be in the Frank Reynolds Cemetery, Hindman, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Millie M. Reynolds
Millie M. Reynolds, 80, of Marion, Ohio, died November 13, 2000, at Morningview Care Center.
She was born March 16, 1920, in Wayland, the daughter of the late Mart and Mandy Collins Moore. She was graduated from Wayland High School and the Mansfield Beauty Academy.
A former Westinghouse Corp. employee, she was also the former owner of Art Way Beauty Salon in Mansfield. Along with her husband, the late Everett Reynolds, she started E&M Beauty College in Mansfield in 1960. She held cosmetology licenses in several states, including Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Virginia.
A member of Good Faith Baptist Church, she was a World War II Air Force veteran.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Speakman of Marion; two step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 17, at 10 a.m. at Good Faith Baptist Church, with Rev. Barkley Slone officiating. Burial will be Saturday, November 18, at the Reynolds Cemetery at Mallie. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Boyd Funeral Home in Marion and by Hindman Funeral Services.

Lottie Mae Spears
Lottie Mae Spears, 87, of Spears Branch, Harold, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born December 24, 1912, in Osborne, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Sturgill and Isabelle Tackett Sturgill. She was a member of the Upper Toler Church of Christ in Harold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ballard Spears.
She is survived by five sons, Arthur Lee Spears of Southgate, Michigan, Victor Howard Spears of Lebanon, Ohio, James Russell Spears and Burnis Buford Spears, both of Harold, and Wayne Bertley Spears of Flat Rock, Michigan; seven daughters, Sarah Kathryn Pinson of Willis, Virginia, Lola Ellen Clark of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Bell Justus of Lebanon, Ohio, Della Marie Jackson of Clyde, Ohio, Linda Joyce Salisbury and Kanova Sue Kingsley, both of Harold, and Deborah Carol Hunt of Stanville; 41 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 13, at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel in Martin, with minister Tommy Bush and Frank Kidd Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Spears Family Cemetery, Spears Branch, Harold.
Pallbearers were Dwayne Clark, Okie Spears, Marty Salisbury, Steven Spears, Mark Spears, Earl Pinson, Mike Stanley, Bill Justus, Brian Spears and Jason Salisbury.

Bailey Dawn Whitaker
Bailey Dawn Whitaker, daughter of Bryan and Nicole Weinstein Whittaker, was stillborn on Monday, November 6, 2000.
Private graveside services were conducted Wednesday, November 8, at 2 p.m., at the May Cemetery in Prestonsburg, under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home, Prestonsburg.

Mary Spears Slone
Mary Spears Slone, 87, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Mud Creek, died Monday, November 6, 2000, at Greenbrook Nursing Home in Florida, following an extended illness.
Born on August 4, 1913, in Mud Creek, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Tetory Sword Spears. She was retired as a self employed hotel owner and was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Slone.
Survivors include two sons, Edgar A. Slone of St. Petersburg, Florida, Charles C. Slone of Old Fort, North Carolina; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 11, at 2 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with David Tucker officiating.
Burial was in the Nicholas-Slone Cemetery, at Dema, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Virgil Hall
Virgil Hall, 58, of Van Lear, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.
Born on March 9, 1942, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Cecil Hall and Marie Goble Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Simpson Hall.
Other survivors include four sons, Virgil Hall of Hager Hill, Tony Dutton of Thealka, Charles Ray Dutton and James R. Hall, both of Van Lear; three daughters, Mary Jane Ritter, and Anna Marie Polley, both of Columbus, Ohio, Jeanne Price of Thelma; three brothers, Jack Hall, Cecil Hall Jr., and David Hall, all of Van Lear; four sisters, Mary Lou Hurt of Louisville, Alice Marie Dollarhide, Martha Leen Fitzpatrick and Judy Hager, all of Van Lear; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 12, at 1 p.m., at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville, with B. Joe Hall, Robert Tussey and Paul Keaton officiating.
Burial will be in the Hall Family Cemetery, Van Lear, under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Nancy Anne Hughes Lessard
Nancy Anne Hughes Lessard, 66, of Lexington, formerly of Prestonsburg, died Sunday, November 4, 2000, at her home.
She was born on March 24, 1934, in Jane Lew, West Virginia, the daughter of Robert Henry Hughes of Prestonsburg, and the late Shirley Cole Hughes.
She attended Transylvania University, moved to Maine to work for the Girl Scouts of America, and then attended nursing school in Boston, Massachusetts. She and her husband operated restaurants in Gloucester, Massachusetts and New Durham, New Hampshire.
Her husband, Edgar Patrick Lessard, preceded her in death.
In addition to her father, survivors include one son, Robert Patrick Lessard of Marysville, Washington; one brother, Henry Hughes of Lexington.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, November 10, at 10 a.m., at Whitehall Funeral Chapel, Lexington, with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating.

Billy Ray Hicks
Billy Ray Hicks, 69, died November 9, 2000, at the Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
Born on February 20, 1931, in Garrett, he was the son of the late Hiram and Ella Centers Hicks.
Survivors include five brothers, Alden Hicks, Ernest P. Hicks, both of Hilo, Hawaii, Charles “Ofelia” Hicks of Dexter, Missouri, Larry Hicks of Lima, Ohio, Jerry “Yvonne” Hicks of Wolcottville, Indiana; four sisters, Mildred Hughes of LaGrange, Indiana, Edna Childers of Willard, Ohio, Nadine Frye of Sturgis, Michigan, and Lenoka Yoakam of Westminster, Maryland.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 13, at the Chiles & Sons-Laman Wayne St. Chapel, with Rev. Earl Yoakam officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial Park Mauosleum, under the direction of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home.
