Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Roy Vanhoose
Roy Vanhoose, 95, of Paintsville, died Monday, February 12, 2001, at his residence.
Born on October 16, 1905, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Noah Vanhoose and Martha Blair Vanhoose.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo Blackburn of Pikeville, Patsy Miller of Paintsville; two sisters, Josephine Howe of Landrum, South Carolina, Mary Hope Walker of Louisville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 16, 1 p.m., at the Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Hager Hill, with Dr. Charles Milam officiating.
Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.

Tillie Akers
Tillie Akers, 67, of Ludlow Falls, Ohio, died Friday, January 19, 2001.
She was born May 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Dewey and Anna Jones Hall.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Akers.
Other survivors include three sons, James Akers of Idleyld Park, Oregon, Gordon Akers of Troy, Ohio and Mark Akers of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; two brothers, Carroll Gene Hall of Versailles, and Benjamin F. Hall of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sisters, Charlotte Emogene Dorton of Elizabethtown, and June Christine Hackworth of Marion, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, January 24, at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home in West Milton, Ohio.
Burial was in the Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.

Anna M. Moore
Anna M. Moore, 52, of Shelby, Ohio, died Saturday, February 10, 2001, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness.
Born on June 4, 1948, in Garrett, the daughter of Garland and Helen Slone, she had been a Shelby resident since 1989. She was a former employee of Brunswick Defense Co. in Willard, retiring after 23 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Murlin C. Moore.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carol Dean of New Washington; three stepsons, William Moore of Ganges; Jeremy C. Moore and Charlie A. Moore, both of Bellville; one step-daughter, Tammy Jo Frazee of Shelby; one brother, Hobart Johnson of Florida; one sister, Delci Ramey of Floyd County and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 14, 11 a.m., at the Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
Burial will be in the Moore Family Cemetery, Fort Gay, West Virginia.

Gardis Lee Jervis
Gardis Lee Jervis, 61, of Prestonsburg, died Sunday, February 11, 2001, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born on February 14, 1939, in Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Ova and Lula Florence Birchfield Jervis. He was disabled and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sisters, Laura Crider, Elsie Pinion and Beulah Jarrell, all of Prestonsburg, Mary Francis Rose of Grethel, Louedith Bailey of Harold, and Linda Collins of Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 14, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Nathan Lafferty officiating.
Burial will be in the Setser Cemetery, at Endicott.

John Russell Jr. Copley
John Russell Jr. Copley, 80, of Inez, died Sunday, February 11, 2001, at his residence.
Born on April 18, 1920, in Martin County, he was the son of the late Thomas Copley and Rhoda Dalton Copley. He was a retired coal miner, a World War II veteran and a deacon of the Inez Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Copley.
Survivors include one son, John Russell Copley of Ft. Myers, Florida; two daughters, Gladys Copley Horn and Carolyn Copley Mills, both of Inez; one brother, James Copley of North Vernon, Indiana; one sister, Lucy Ward of Lancaster, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 13, at the Inez Freewill Baptist Church, with Kevin Davis, Jack Small and Glen Ray Moore officiating.
Burial was in the Green Lawn Cemetery, at Louisa, under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

Marshall Ray Fraley
Marshall Ray Fraley, 47, of Hager Hill, died Sunday, February 11, 2001.
Born on January 17, 1954, in Johnson County, he was the son of Okie Daniels and the late Thomas J. Fraley. He was disabled.
Survivors include two sons, Frank J. Fraley of Honolulu, Hawaii, Travis J. Fraley of Tutor Key; two daughters, Charity R. Donnelly of Paintsville, Mya R. Fraley of Tutor Key; three brothers, Thomas P. Fraley of East Point, Ronald L. Fraley of Van Lear, William R. Fraley of West Van Lear; two sisters, Ruth Butcher of Van Lear, Alpharetta Sue Francis of Van Lear; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 14, at 11 a.m., at the Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Hager Hill, with Frank Osborne officiating.
Burial will be in the Friendship Memorial Gardens, at Williamsport.

Russell Patton
Russell Patton, 78, of Langley, died Monday, February 12, 2001, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, Martin.
He was born May 25, 1922, in Langley, the son of the late Talmadge Patton and Bessie Lafferty Patton. He was a retired operator for Kentucky Hydrocarbon, at Langley, and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lassie Watts Patton.
Other survivors include one son, Kenneth Ray Patton of Lexington; one daughter, Teresa Lynn Jones of Minnie; four brothers, Ralph Patton, Paul Patton, William Patton and Charles Ray Patton all of Langley; five sisters, Ruth Sloan of Langley, Nova Wallen and Faye Caudill both of Garrett, Edith Green of Hueysville, Anna Mae Gearheart of Shelby, Ohio; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 14, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergyman, Sterling Bolen, officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.

Sarah Copeland
Sarah Spears Collins Burchell Copeland, 100, of Versailles, native of Prestonsburg, and formerly of South Williamson, died Friday, February 9, 2001.
She was born in Prestonsburg, January 9, 1901, a daughter of the late Kenis and Luna Dials Spears.
She was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Estil Lee Burchell of Cincinnati, the Rev. Delmas Copeland of Waynesville, North Carolina; three daughters, Ruth E. Collins of Versailles, Eloise Copeland Huston of Loveland, Ohio, Mary Lou Copeland Travis of Glasgow; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 12, in the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Versailles, with Ben Hahn, John Brandon, and Craig Ryan officiating.
Burial will be Wednesday, February 14, in Mountain View Memory Gardens, at Huddy.

Edgar Reynolds
Edgar Reynolds, 75, of Hi Hat, died Saturday, February 10, 2001, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born August 13, 1925, in Ligon, the son of the late Festus Reynolds and Elsie Belle Newsome Reynolds. He was a disabled coal miner.
Survivors include one sister, Hazel Brown of Mason, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 12, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Louie Ferrari and Kenny Brewer officiating.
Burial was in the Burton Cemetery, Ligon.
