Pearl Gene Ousley, 62, of East Point, died Thursday, February 2, 2001, at Kings Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, following a brief illness.
Born on July 8, 1938, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Pearl and Garrett McGuire Ousley. He was a retired laborer for American Standard in Paintsville and a member of the First Church of God at Little Paint.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Richardson Ousley.
Survivors include one son, Dickie Ousley of Prestonsburg; three step-sons, Ricky Spradlin of Little Paint, Avery Ousley and Timothy Ousley, both of Prestonsburg; three daughters, Mary Jean Ousley, Jeanette Prater, both of Prestonsburg, Brenda Baldridge of Lexington; four step-daughters, Lee Ann Spradlin of Little Paint, Patricia Massie of Petosky, Michigan, Lou Ann Nelson and Saundra DeRossett both of Prestonsburg; four half-brothers, Taulbie Goodman and Estill Ousley both of Prestonsburg, Curt Ousley of Indiana, Luther Goodman of Ypslanti, Michigan; one sister, Georgia Ethel Porter of Tennessee; one half-sister, Janie Goodman of Prestonsburg; 9 step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 4, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home at 1 p.m., on Sunday, February 4, with Jim Smith and Charles Heater officiating.
Burial will be in the Richardson-Boggs Cemetery, at Little Paint.
Verlie Tackett
Verlie Tackett, 75, of Wheelwright, died Friday, February 2, 2001, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.
Born on October 12, 1925, in Dorton, she was the daughter of the late Ballard and Bertha Vanover Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Tackett.
Survivors include four sons, Willie Allen Tackett of Portland, Tennessee, Jackie Dean Tackett of Martin, Gary Wayne Tackett of Weeksbury, Jerry Keith Tackett of Ligon; four daughters, Linda Gale Fowler of Romulus, Michigan, Cinda Louise Thornsbury of Florence, Deanna Lynn Mullins of Jacks Creek, Kathy Hall of Jacks Creek; one brother, Charles Wright of Dorton, 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 5, at 1 p.m., at the Upper Burton Free Pentecostal Church of God at Bypro, with Lewis Sandlin and Johnny Dutton officiating.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Dorton, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Clyde Isaacs
Clyde Isaacs, 49, of Teaberry, died Wednesday, January 31, 2001, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born January 25, 1952, in Teaberry, the son of the late Earmel Isaacs and Aggie Reynolds Isaacs.
Survivors include two brothers, Boge Isaacs of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Larry Isaacs of Teaberry; four sisters, Brenda Akers of Grethel, Bonnie Miller of Harrison, Michigan, Sharon Booth of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Vicki Blazer of Belleville, Michigan.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 3, at 10 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the Reynolds Cemetery, at Beaver.
Dallas Case Sr.
Dallas Case Sr., 80, of New London, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 30, at his home, after a sudden illness.
Born on May 12, 1920, in Harold, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Warricks Case.
He moved to New London in the early 50’s. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the South Pacific. He was a retired steel truck driver, and was a member of the New London V.F.W. Pheifer-Mathers Post No. 4654.
Survivors include three sons, Dallas Case Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Henry Case of Norwalk and Worlie “Duke” Case of Willard; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 2, at the Eastman Funeral Home, with military rites. Rev. Steve Messinger will officiate.
Glen Edward Moore
Glen Edward Moore, 69, of Melvin, died Tuesday, January 30, 2001, at the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born on June 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Hall Moore. He was self-employed.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Oltmahn of Charleston, South Carolina; one sister, Geneva Thornsberry of Louisville.
Memorial services were conducted Thursday, February 1, at noon at the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, at Virgie, with Monroe Jones and others officiating.
Forrest Martin
Forrest Martin, age 64, of Shelby, Ohio, formerly of Kentucky, husband of Alice F. Lay Martin, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his residence, following a long illness.
He was born March 17, 1939, in Kentucky, the son of the late Rebel Martin and Lucy Sherman Martin. Forrest was employed for 20 years with General Motors. He was a member of AMVETS Post #1979 in Galion, American Legion Post No. 447 in Plymouth, and B.P.O.E. and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; three daughters, Missy (Sean) Stoke and Robin Martin, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Michelle Martin of Galion, Ohio; one son, Tim (Lisa) Johnson of Lexington; five grandchildren, Nick, Laken, Sheldon, and two grandsons; three brothers, Charles Ray Martin and Wade Martin, both of Dema, Paul Martin of Shelby, Oho; three sisters, Joyce Ratliff of Kentucky, Doris Welch of Maryland, and Gwen Barnett of Florida; two stepsons and their families, Bill (Kathy) Frey, and Ed Frey; one stepdaughter and her family, Kim (Mike) McBride, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Judy Johnson; second wife, Michelle Martin; and one infant daughter, Theresa Lynn.
Graveside services for Forest Martin will be conducted Wednesday, June 18, at 2:30 p.m., at the Whitt Martin Cemetery, at Dema, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Mable Crisp
Mable Crisp, age 73, of Warsaw, Indiana, formerly of Prestonsburg, passed away Monday, June 16, 2003, at the Millers Merry Manor Nursing Home in Warsaw, Indiana, following an extended illness.
She was born December 27, 1929, in Prestonsburg, a daughter of the late Jim and Pearlie Calhoun Wallen.
She was married
to Clarence Crisp, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons and three daughters, Tommy Crisp of Warsaw, Indiana, James Crisp of Claypool, Indiana, Jackie Lynn Rainwater, Barbara Harmon, and Betty Sue Ousley, all of Warsaw, Indiana. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. There are two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m., from the Burke Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with Rev. Manford Fannin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Richmond Memorial Cemtery at Prestonsburg.
All arrangements under the direction of Burke Funeral Home.

Phillip Rodney Pennington
Phillip Rodney Pennington, age 68, of Lima, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, at 3:10 p.m., at his residence.
He was born November 27, 1934, in Garrett, Floyd County, a son of John Franklin and Cora (Gibson) Pennington. He retired as a job setter from the Ford Motor Company in 1988. He was an Air Force Veteran.
On October 10, 1973, he married
Carolyn Breeding who survives him.
Other survivors include a daughter, Susan (Bill) Degen of Lima, Ohio; three sons, Phillip Pennington Jr., of St. Mary’s, Ohio, Kyle Chad (Jennifer) Breeding of Pickerington, Ohio, and Robert Lee (Carrie) Pennington of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Dolly (Jim) Stephenson of Morristown, Tennessee, Mary Elizabeth (Donald) Newman of Lima, Ohio, and Juanita Reid of Newman, Georgia; four brothers, Rudolph (Sally) Pennington of Smithville, and Bobby Dean (Phyllis) Pennington of North Ft. Myers, Florida, Carl E. (Janis) Breeding of Stafford, Virginia, and George “Butch” Spees of Lima; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Mark Jarrells, Leeanna Pennington, Kylie Breeding, Marina Breeding, William Jared Degen, Leea Pennington, and Ethan Phillip Degen.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Anna Lee Hensley.
Funeral services begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, at Siferd Westwood Chapel, with Chaplain Joe Pumphrey officiating.
Burial to follow in Bluelick Cemetery with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post No. 1275.
Visitation is at the funeral home.

Adrian Earl McDowell
Adrian Earl McDowell, age 88, of Prestonsburg, husband of the late Ailene Burrus McDowell, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, in the Riverview Health Care Center, Prestonsburg.
He was born August 19, 1914, in Robertson County, the son of the late Orville McDowell and Claira Pope McDowell. He was retired from the shipping department for Sears, a member of Antiock Christian Church, Lexington, and attended the Tom Moore Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, at Cliff, Prestonsburg.
Survivors include one son, Jack W. McDowell of Prestonsburg; three grandchildren, Jacki McDowell Mitchell, Judi McDowell Calhoun and John McDowell; six great-grandchildren, Jeremy Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell, Nicholas Hager, Elaina Calhoun, Cathryn Calhoun, and Chris Baker.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jennifer Hager.
Funeral services for Adrian Earl McDowell were conducted Tuesday, June 17, at 1 p.m., at the Tom Moore Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, at Cliff, Prestonsburg, with Clifford Austin officiating.
Burial was in the McDowell Family Cemetery, at Cliff, Prestonsburg, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the church.
