Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Norma Collins Crider
Norma Collins Crider, 90, of Van Lear, died Friday, January 12, 2001, at the Mountain Manor of Paintsville, of an extended illness.
Born October 10, 1910, on John’s Creek (Floyd County), she was the daughter of the late William H. Collins and Martha Elizabeth Clark Collins. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Arson Crider.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 14, at 1:00 p.m., at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with Rev. Roger Goble officiating.
Burial was in the Crider Family Cemetery, John’s Creek Road, Van Lear.

Willard Stanley
Willard Stanley, 80, of Lexington, formerly of Melvin, died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, following an extended illness.
He was born August 19, 1920, at Draffin, the son of the late Jessie and Bessie Ratliff Stanley. He was a retired Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals commissioner, a member of the Wheelwright Masonic Lodge and a World War II Army Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy Mae Johnson Stanley.
Other survivors include one son, Willard Stanley Jr., of Lexington; five daughters, Patricia McCown and Sherry Goeing, both of Melvin, Carol Sue Sword and Deborah Hall, both of Lexington and Charlotte Lynn of Pikeville; two sisters, Ruby Hall of Weeksbury, Louise Slone of Elkhorn City; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 17, at Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Clergyman Louie Ferrari officiating.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Willard Stanley were Danny McCowen Jr., Charles Sword Jr., Shane McCown, Stanley Goeing, Christopher Lynn, Randy Stanley, Matthew Goeing, Lincoln Lynn and Andrew Hall.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel.

Fred Kelly Marshall
Fred Kelly Marshall, 56, of Langley, died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at his residence.
He was born August 21, 1945, in Martin, the son of the late Sidney and Opal Osborne Marshall. He was a retired miner and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by five brothers, Jimmy Marshall and Carlos Marshall both of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Harlos Marshall of Langley, Clyde Douglas Marshall of Lexington, Bobby McGuffey of Scottsville; four sisters, Rebecca Hall of Martin, Ada Weaver of Cement City, Michigan, Sue Spangler of Mt. Gilard, Ohio, Cendia Hall of Langley.
Memorial service will be Friday, January 19, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin.

Gracie Mosley Combs
Gracie Mosley Combs, 76, of Garner, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born on May 29, 1924, in Hindman, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Ruthie Short Mosley. She was a member of the Crossroads Community Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Green Combs.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Combs of Garner, Eulice Combs of Garrett, Indiana; one daughter, Debbie Childers of Garner; two sisters, Rebecca Thornsberry of Garner, Ellen Gamble of Corunna, Indiana, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 14, at 1 p.m., at the Crossroads Community Baptist Church at Hindman, with Cullin Caudill, James Hughes and others officiating.
Burial will be in the Ben Slone Cemetery, at Garner, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Madison and Mason Tackett
Madison Tracy and Mason Lucas Tackett, twin sons of Lucas and Stephanie Tackett of Hi Hat, died shortly after they were born, Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Besides their parents, they are survived by two brothers, Dillion Tackett and Jacob Tackett, both at home; their paternal grandparents, Barbara and Eugene Skeens of Raccoon, and Marvin Tackett of Grethel; and their maternal grandparents, Linda and Joey Horn of Hi Hat and Teddy Anderson of Grapevine.
Graveside services were conducted at the Frank Tackett Cemetery, Virgie, Saturday, January 13, under the direction of Justice Funeral Services, Pikeville.

Mary E. Clark
Mary E. Clark, 95, of Betsy Layne, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
Born December 31, 1905, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Letha Walters Clark Steel and Paris Clark. She was a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ.
Survivors include her great-nephews, Jim Clark of Betsy Layne, Denny Hall and Scotty Hall of Lexington; great-nieces, Cecelia Bryant of Betsy Layne and Pam Rowe of Berea.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 13, at the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Tim McCoy officiating.
Burial was in the Johnson Memorial Park.

Pete Mullins
Pete Mullins, 66, of Sugar Camp of Robinson Creek, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at Parkview Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Robinson Creek.
He was born at Weeksbury, June 18, 1934, a son of the late Patton and Mountie Johnson Mullins.
He was a disabled carpenter, formerly employed, by Elliott Construction and was a member of the Dorton General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanetta Cole Mullins.
Other survivors include three daughters, Teresa Clancy of Florida, Anita Burke of Virgie, Sheila Ann Gibson of Pikeville; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 12, in the Lucas & Hall Funeral Home Chapel at Pikeville, with John Vance and others officiating.
Burial was in the Cole Cemetery, at Sugar Camp.

Ted “H.” Salisbury Jr.
Ted “H” Salisbury Jr., 73, of Martin, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at the Rockcastle Hospital and Respiratory Care, Mount Vernon.
He was born October 30, 1927, in Weeksbury, the son of the late Ted Salisbury and Lucy Casebolt Salisbury. He was a retired railroad conductor, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of John W. Hall Masonic Lodge, No. 950, at Martin; Oleika Shrine Temple; and was a member of the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include one daughter, Clara Marks of Bloomfield, Michigan; one brother, Rodney Salisbury of Southgate, Michigan; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 13, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Ted “H” Salisbury Jr., were Ron Marks, Austin Marks, Jamie Bush, Jackie Gayheart, Shelby Amburgey, Walter Clyde Dingus, Tiny Blackburn, Richard Salisbury and Randy Salisbury.
Honorary pallbearers were Judge Hollie Conley, James Reed Bush, Franklin Delano Salisbury, Bobby Hoover, Jimmy Keathley, Tony Keathley, Don Stumbo and John W. Hall.
Burial was in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.

Magdalene Bentley Little
Magdalene Bentley Little, 70, of LaRue, Ohio, native of McDowell, died Tuesday, Janury 2, 2001.
Born May 13, 1930, at McDowell, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Ann Hall Bentley.
She was a retired teacher and belonged to the Ohio Retired Teachers Organization.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald O. Little.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Lynn Moore; one sister, Myrtle Newsome.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 5, at the Schoedinger North Chapel, in LaRue, with Bufford Howell officiating.
Burial was in the LaRue Cemetery.
