Nancy Ousley Johnson
Nancy Ousley Johnson, age 79, of Warsaw, Indiana, formerly of Spurlock Fork, Middle Creek, widow of Charlie F. Johnson, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at the Mason Health Care Facility, Warsaw, Indiana.
She was born December 13, 1922, in Conley Fork, at Dock, the daughter of the late James “Jim” Ousley and Cynthia Bradley Ousley. She was a homemaker, and was employed by United Technology from 1963-1969.
Survivors include three daughters, Luranne Hoskins of Warsaw, Indiana, Lourena Helton of Claypool, Indiana, and Bobbie Jean Hughes of Silver Lake, Indiana; two sons, Floyd Johnson and Melvin Johnson, both of Silver Lake, Indiana; four brothers, Curtis Eugene Ousley of Pierceton, Indiana, Bill Ousley of Sydney, Indiana, Ashland Ousley of Catlettsburg, and Manis Ousley of Blue River; 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one sister, one grandson, and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, November 24, at 11 a.m., at the Johnson Cemetery, Johnson Fork, at Blue River, Hall Funeral Home, Martin, caring for those arrangements.

Elder Chester E. Newsome
Elder Chester E. Newsome, 82, of Craynor, died Saturday, November 16, 2002.
Born November 1, 1920, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Daniel and Rhodina Hamilton Newsome. He was a World War II Veteran, and a disabled coal miner.
He was twice married, first to Stella Howell Newsome, and later to Elenor Hall Newsome. Both preceded him in death.
Survivors include five sons, Earl Dean Newsome of Pikeville, Linnville Michael Newsome of Hunter, Daniel Newsome of Langsville, Ohio, and Joseph Newsome and Jonah Newsome, both of Craynor; one step-son, Hoyle Hall of Island Creek; five daughters, Ruby Jean Hamilton and Marcella Smith, both of Craynor, Kathleen Taylor of Troy, Ohio, Hollie B. Beard of South Charleston, Ohio, and Mary Alice Crase of Berlin Heights, Ohio; one sister, Susan Howell of Grethel, 25 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Tanzel D. Newsome; one step-son, Kenneth Hall; one daughter, Brenda Sue Newsome; three brothers; two sisters; one half-sister; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 19, at 11 a.m., at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church at Teaberry, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation was after 6 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
Burial was in the Ike Roberts Cemetery, at Grethel, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Mary Frances Honshell Goodrich
Mary Frances Honshell Goodrich, 66, of Back Street in Wayland, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born August 25, 1936, in Floyd County, and was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Beatrice Martin Honshell. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Honshell Toler of Irvine; three brothers, Walter Franklin Honshell of Charlotte, Michigan, Charles Ronald “Bucky” Honshell of Battle Creek, Michigan, and William Howard Honshell Jr., of Wayland.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 18, at 1 p.m., at the Wayland United Methodist Church, by Rev. Warren Toler.
Burial was in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, under direction of the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home, at Irvine.
Visitation was at the funeral home on Sunday, and prior to the funeral on Monday, at the Wayland United Methodist Church.

Charles Everette Diskey Jr.
Charles Everette Diskey Jr., 45, of Prestonsburg, died Friday, November 1, 2002, in Prestonsburg.
Born February 19, 1957, in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Everette Diskey Sr., of Bloomington, Indiana, and the late Betty Jo Emery Diskey Ratliff. He was a disabled businessman.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Crace Diskey.
Other survivors include two sons, Joshua Charles Diskey of Richmond, and Christopher Charles Diskey of Battle Creek, Michigan; one daughter, Jessica Rose Diskey of Prestonsburg; four sisters, Mary Jo Hamilton of Pikeville, Rosetta Smallwood of Dorton, Sarah Tackett of Bedford, and Judy Stepp of Westminster, South Carolina; and one granddaughter, Tori Michelle Henderson.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Linda Diskey; maternal and paternal grandparents; niece, Melissa Dawn Tackett; brothers-in-law, Ricky Tackett and Todd Crace.
Funeral services were Tuesday, November 5, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Larry Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.

Marlene (Howell) Blevins
Marlene (Howell) Blevins, age 70, of Prestonsburg, passed away Monday, November 18, 2002, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, after an extended illness.
She was born April 5, 1932, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Fred and Minerva (Adams) Howell. She was a member of the Fitzpatrick Baptist Church of Prestonsburg.
She was married to Paul Martin Blevins who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Ricky Allen Blevins of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Tonia Ann Robinson of Prestonsburg; and one sister, Ruby Hall of Prestonsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 21, at 11 a.m., from the Burke Funeral Home at Prestonsburg, with Pastor Jennings West officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Burke Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.

Millard F. Hamilton
Millard F. Hamilton, 94, of Harold, husband of Delcie Salisbury Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
He was born February 8, 1908, in Galveston, the son of the late Lawrence Hamilton and Ivalee Roberts Hamilton. He was a retired Columbia Gas Company employee, and was a member of the Lower Toler Church of Christ, at Harold.
In addition to his wife, Delcie, he is survived by two daughters, Eula Scott of Kissimmee, Florida, and Peggy A. (Lowell) Steel of Pikeville; three brothers, Bob Hamilton of Harold, Charles Hamilton of Wellington, Ohio, and Curt Hamilton of Bellevue, Ohio; two sisters, Esta Wicker of Bellevue, Ohio, and Dolly Jones of Big Waco, Texas; one grandson, Joe Steele of Stanville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Queavelle Hamilton.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 16, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Clergymen, Lonnie Joe Meade and Willie Meade officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Pallbearers: Jamie Hunt, Chris Salisbury, Tommy Joe Salisbury, Greg Tackett, Stanley Neece, Willie Meade, James Meade and Roy Tackett.
Honorary: Ken Allen, Joe Scott, and Walter Fred Gearheart.

Jerry Morgan
Jerry Morgan, 45, of Prestonsburg, died Monday, November 11, 2002, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, following an extended illness.
Born April 29, 1957, in Knott County, he was the son of Gladys Hall Morgan of Wayland; and the late Graden Morgan. He was a bank collections agent and advisor at the Job Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Jolene Prater Morgan.
Other survivors include one son, Joshua Morgan and one daughter, Crystal Leann Morgan, both of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Graydon Morgan Jr. of Kite, and Donald Lee Morgan of Pike County; and three sisters, Anna Lou Mullins of Dema, Linda Faye Mullins of Raven, and Nancy Lee Hall of Wayland.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Morgan.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 14, at 11 a.m., at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, with Jimmy Hall, Earl Slone and Jerry Manns officiating.
Burial was in the Prater Family Cemetery (Left Fork, Abbott), Prestonsburg.
Active pallbearers: Dwayne Mullins, Ricky Mullins, Brent Morgan, Michael Morgan, Charlie Slone, Terry Scott, Robert (Jr.) Prater, William (Bill) Prater, Ed Prater, Matthew Prater, and Andy Craft.

Marie Salisbury
Marie Salisbury, age 81, of Hunter, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
She was born June 9, 1921, in Hunter, the daughter of the late Charlie Salisbury and Linnie Mae Conn Salisbury. She was a member of the Salisbury Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Morgan Salisbury of Hunter, and three sisters, Syble White of Delbarton, West Virginia, Hester Copley of Rittman, Ohio, and Hattie LeMaster.
Funeral services for Marie Salisbury will be conducted Saturday, November 16, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Clergyman Sterlin Bolen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Salisbury Cemetery, at Hunter, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation is after noon, Friday, at the funeral home.
