Graham Music, age 86, of Findlay, Ohio, formerly of Floyd County, died Saturday, October 26, 2002, at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
Born July 28, 1916, in Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Jefferson Thomas and Thursa Ann (Osborne) Music. He was a retired union construction worker, having worked for Hullenkramer for 20 years. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served as a sergeant with Merrill’s Maurauders in Indo-China and Burma. He was a life member of the D.A.V., Chapter #43, as well as a life member of V.F.W. Post #3003, where he was a past commander.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas H. Music and Jack W. Music; and, three sisters, Eunice Spradlin, Melody Sebring, and Anna R. Music.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche E. Craft Music; one daughter, Mrs. Larry E. (Rita G.) Monday, of Findlay, Ohio; one brother, Charles F. Music, of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; and, eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 29, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, in Findlay, with the Rev. Phillip G. Elmore officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, where military honors were performed by the Hancock Co. Veteran’s Memorial Squad.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial tributes be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 183039, Dept. 013, Columbus, Ohio, 43218-2039.

James Martin
James Martin, age 83, of Drift, husband of Darlena S. Martin, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital, Martin.
Born July 16, 1919, in Minnie, he was the son of the late Noah Martin and Josephine Martin. He was a former railroad employee and car manufacturer for Hudson Motor Company. He was a member of the Monroe Vanderpool Memorial Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 128, Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Darlena, and one sister, Edith Hopkins, of Minnie.
Funeral services for James Martin will be conducted Thursday, October 31, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin. Regular Baptist ministers will officiate.
Burial will follow in Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, under the professional care of Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Jeffery Shawn Little
Jeffery Shawn Little, 30, of Wheelwright, died Saturday, October 26, 2002.
Born January 29, 1972, at McDowell, he was the son of Danny Ray and Marilyn Lou
Caudill Little, of Wheelwright. He was an unemployed laborer.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edsel Ray Little, and his maternal grandparents, Roman and Lillie Mae Hall Caudill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Danny Ray Little Jr., of McDowell; one sister, Crystal Renee Little, of Wheelwright; and his paternal grandmother, Marie Hall Little, of Wheelwright.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 29, at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Louis Ferrari officiated. Burial was in the Little Cemetery, at Wheelwright.
All arrangements were under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Charles E. Reynolds
Charles E. Reynolds, age 68, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Floyd County, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph Residential Center, in Lorain, following an illness of several weeks.
Born in Beaver, he was the son of the late Walter and Nannie (nee Jones) Reynolds. He had been a resident of Lorain for more than 50 years.
He worked in 3 Seamless Mill, Hot End of U.S. Steel Lorain Works, before retiring in 1993, after 41 years of service. He was a member of United Steel Workers Union Local No. 1104. He was a member of Pleasantview Old Regular Baptist Church in Litchfield. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Angustine Cooper and Imogene Turner; and three brothers, Emmit, Danny, and Wallace.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; two sons, Frederick, of Lorain, and Charles Michael, of Willowick; two daughters, Theresa Taylor, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and, Melanie Spare, of Balground, Georgia; two stepsons, James Randall Williams and John W. Williams, both of Lorain; and one stepdaughter, Geri Lynn Howard, also of Lorain; seven grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; a stepmother, Edith Reynolds, of Springport; five brothers, Ronnie Dean, of Betsy Layne, Larry, of Celina, Tennessee, Wendell, of Albion, Michigan, Glen, of Jackson, Michigan, and Donald, of Springport; and five sisters, Loretta Reynolds, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mabel Martin, of Springport, Michigan; Fay Finister, of North Olmstead, Pauline Newson, of Elyria, and Ella Ruth Hall, of Beaver.
Funeral services for Charles E. Reynolds were held Saturday, October 26, at Pleasantview Old Regular Baptist Church, Litchfield. Elder Larry Newsome officiated.
Burial was in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.

Dixie Jarrell Conn
Dixie Jarrell Conn, age 99, of Dana, died Saturday, October 26, 2002, at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center.
Born December 6, 1902, at Dana, she was the daughter of the late John and Cordilla Watson Jarrell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sammy Clark Freewill Baptist Church, Dana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Conn; two sons, Delmer Conn and Homer Conn; three brothers, Ed Jarrell, Leonard Jarrell, and Jim Jarrell; five sisters, Rosa Boyd, Dorcie Boyd, Lola Boyd, Maxie Bentley, and Cynthia Akers.
She is survived by three sons, Ted Conn, of Dana, Azrie Conn, of Pigeon, Michigan, and Ricky Conn, of Prestonsburg; four daughters, Mavis Kranker, of Byron, Michigan, Thelma Thacker, of Dana, Alma Kuntz, of Vermillion, Ohio, and Dionia Reyna, of Dana; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 29, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin. Freewill Baptist ministers officiated.
Burial was in the Bryce Conn Cemetery, Akers Branch, at Dana.

Della Risner Herald
Della Risner Herald, age 103, of Prestonsburg, died Sunday, October 27, 2002, at her residence.
Born April 8, 1899, in Magoffin County, she was the daughter of the late Larkin and Rhoda Patrick Risner. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the First Church of God, Prestonsburg, since 1953.
She was a lifetime member of the Church of God Women and was proudly presented a key to the City of Prestonsburg in recognition of being the city’s oldest living citizen by Mayor Jerry Fannin on her 103rd birthday.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Herald, and a son, Ballard Clinton Herald.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Herald Burke, of Prestonsburg; a granddaughter, Della B. Ormerod, of Prestonsburg; and, a great-granddaughter, Kristen Ormerod, of Lexington.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 29, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg. The Rev. Steve Williams and Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiated.
Burial was in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel. Pallbearers for Della Risner Herald were: Mike Ormerod, Larry Herald, Gary Herald, James Merle Goble, Jack Baldridge, Jerry Fannin, Harry Adams, and Travis Risner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Church of God, 194 University Drive, Prestonsburg.

Rev. Andrew Allen
Rev. Andrew Allen, age 93, of Lima (and formerly of Kenton) died Sunday, October 20, 2002, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on November 18, 1908, in Waldo, Kentucky, to Ramey and Mary (Rowe) Allen. In 1929, he married
Teda Marshall who preceded him in death. On October 22, 1956, he married
Lillian E. Holbrook, who survives.
Rev. Allen was an ordained Baptist minister, having been ordained in January, 1932. He pastored churches in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. He mentored many young ministers. He loved preaching and Bible teaching. He also loved children and often baked cookies for neighborhood children as well as children in the family. He appreciated the the kind and loving care he received from his home health aide, Terry Kilgore, during the past year and a half. He was employed at Rockwell International from 1950 until his retirement in December, 1973. He had also owned and operated a general store in Royalton, Kentucky, prior to his move to Ohio in 1944.
Other survivors include two sons, Warnie Allen of McGuffey, Ohio, Timothy S. “Tim” Allen of Lima, Ohio; three daughters, Roberta (Ezra) Moore, Brenda (Thomas) Keller and Catherine D. “Cathy” (Stephen) Potter, all of Lima, Ohio; and one sister, Grace Pinks of McGuffey; six grandchildren, Rose (Don) Webb of Alger, Suzanne Hoover of Kenton, Linda (Robert) O’Brien, Jonathan Ridgeway, Jessika Yoakam, and Andrew “Andy” Allen all of Lima, Ohio; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his previous spouse, Teda (Marshall) Allen; two daughters, Barbara Allen in 1945 and Maredia Allen Wright on October 15, 1999 and one grandson, David D. Wright on February 9, 1987; four sisters, Susie, Sarah, Edna, and Ada Allen and a brother, Karue Allen.
Services will be conducted Thursday, October 24, at 2:30 p.m., at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, 1170 Shawnee Road, Lima, Ohio, with Revs. Eddie and Joe M. Wireman officiating.
Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio.
Visitation is held on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chiles and Sons Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, in Lima.

David Estill Sellards
David Estill Sellards, 83, of South Lake Tahoe, California, passed away October 5, at Barton Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born November 9, 1918, at Banner, he was a son of the late Jack and Nancy Akers Sellards. He grew up in Floyd County, but worked for a time in Detroit, Michigan, before being transferred to Oakland, California, where he was employed as a special photographer by American Can Company. He retired in 1970 and moved to the home he loved in South Lake Tahoe.
He is survived by one son, Gary Sellards of Willows, California; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a companion of many years, Nell Howe.
He is also survived by one brother and four sisters in Kentucky, Jack B. Sellards of Barboursville, Jewel Conn of Harold, Aileen Hall of Betsy Layne, Sylvia Hall and Georgean Cecil, both of Stanville.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 10, at McFarland Funeral Home with interment at Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe.
