She was born on January 20, 1912 as the daughter of Steven Edward and Amanda Young Shain.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Parks and Zelma Hoskins both of Caneyville; two sons, Doyle Wilson of Olaton and James Wilson of Caneyville; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville.
Burial was in the Richland Cemetery.
Bobby W. Watson
Bobby W. Watson, 65, of Louisville died Wednesday, November 21, 2001.
He was born on May 17, 1936 in Leitchfield as the son of Charles Rupert and Elsie Beatty Wilson.
He was a retired assembly worker for Ford Motor Company, a member of U.A.W. #862, Leithfield Masonic Lodge #236 F&AM;, and the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Watson of Louisville; two daughters, Allyson Laferty and Leslie Wooten of Louisville, and two granddaughters, Amanda and Rachel Laferty of Louisville.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 25, 2001 at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
Visitation was at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville and at the home of Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
George Riley Nichols Sr., M.D.
George Riley Nichols Sr. M.D., 90, died Sunday, November 25, 2001 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He was a retired physician, native of Grayson County and US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII. Member of Jefferson County, Kentucky and American Medical Societies, Southern Medical Association.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Sandlin Nichols; two sons, George R. Nichols II, M.D. and Thomas J. Nichols; one stepson, William D. Asher; one sister, Luanna N. Anderson of Clarkson; one brother, Cletus D. Nichols of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Pearson's Funeral Home in Louisville.
Burial was in the Cave Hill Cemetery.
Henry L. Watkins
Henry L. Watkins, 59, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
He was born on February 18, 1943 in Louisville as the son of Raymond Edgar Sr. and Mary Ellen Self Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Richardson Watkins of Leitchfield; three sons, Robert E. and Donald L. Watkins both of Louisville, and Henry J. Watkins of Leitchfield; two daughters, Kimberly Gilbert and Gloria Leonard both of Leitchfield; one brother, Raymond E. Watkins, Jr. of Leitchfield; father, Raymond Watkins, Sr.; one sister, Nora Avery of Louisville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 31 at the Mt. Hebron Gospel Missionary Church in Leitchfield with Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Burial was in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Stella C. Newton
Stella C. Newton, 92, of Leitchfield, died on Monday, November 26, 2001 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 22, 1909 as the daughter of James Riley and Elizabeth Saltsman Carroll.
She was a housewife and a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church at Sadler.
Seven brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Moran and Ruby Mudd of Leitchfield; one daughter and one son-in-law, Allene and Carl Hayes; two granddaughters, Kay Barton and Jaynelle Kelley all of Leitchfield and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Ernie Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Sanders Cemetery.
Tracy A. McDonald
Tracy A. McDonald, 38, of Leitchfield died on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY.
She was born on May 23, 1964 in Jefferson County as the daughter of Norma Ragland.
She is survived by her mother, Norma Ragland of Leitchfield; one brother, Michael Stanton of Arkansas; and one sister, Sandi Roof of Leitchfield.
Private funeral services will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
