Alma E. Oxendine, age 79, of Big Clifty, died Thursday, October 10, 2002, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born on March 16, 1923 in Hardin County as the daughter of Earl and Bessie Williams Richardson.
She was a retired Inspector from Vermont American and a member of Little Clifty Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Ballard, and three brothers, Raymond, Dan, and J.C. Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, William W. Oxendine of Big Clifty, two sisters, Evelyn Osbourne of Leitchfield and Correnor Hyatt of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 13 2002 at the home of Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.
Burial was held in the Little Clifty Methodist Church Cemetery.
Betty Sue Smith
Betty Sue Smith, 57, of Clarkson died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at her residence.
She was born on May 25, 1945 as the daughter of Dillard and Elsie Marie Alvey Logsdon.
She attended the Broadford Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Smith; sister, Bernice Webb, and two brothers, Deward and Steve Logsdon.
She is survived by her husband, Carl W. Smith of Clarkson; two sons, Craig and Wayne Smith, both of Clarkson; two daughters, Brenda Sanders and Bonnie Savannah Smith both of Clarkson; three brothers, Billy and Clay Logsdon both of Caneyville and Jimmy Logsdon of Clarkson; two sisters, Ronella Warf of Leitchfield and Edith Logsdon of Clarkson; daughter-in-laws, Bridget and Monica Smith; son-in-law, Buddy Sanders and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at the home of Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield
Burial was in Christian Church Cemetery at Peonia.
Martha Taylor
1938-2002
Martha Belle Givens Taylor, 63, of Louisville, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 in Louisville.
She was born on September 21, 1938 as the daughter of Corbett and Ida Ingram Givens.
She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daugher, Jacquelynn Ingle of Louisville, five sisters, Georgia Coy, Carol Wilson both of Louisville, Naomi Markles and Rita Givens both of CA and Alice Givens of Leitchfield.
Graveside services were held on Friday, August 16, 2002 at the Cain Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Embry officiating with Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville in charge of the arrangements.
Helen M. Dennis
1928-2002
Helen M. Dennis, age 74, of Leitchfield died on Sunday, November 10, 2002 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
She was born on March 27, 1928 as the daughter of the late Mark H. and Gracie Bryant Constant. She was a member of Madrid Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Dennis of Leitchfield; one daughter, Diane Newton of Hudson; four grandsons, Craig Burden of Leitchfield, Jason Newton of Jacksonville, Florida, and John Newton of Hudson; one granddaughter, Kim Newton of Hudson; two brothers, Kenneth Constant of Munfordville, and Leon Constant of Bonnieville; two sisters, Elain Waddell of Bonnieville, and Wanda Cox of Munfordville.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Elliott officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
Deloris Fulkerson
1935-2002
Deloris J. Fulkerson, 67 of Sonora died on Friday, October 11, 2002 at her residence.
She was born in LaRue County.
She was a member of the Lone Oak Misisonary Baptist church in Grayson County.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Smith, mother, Iva Creal Smith and two sister, Lucille Owens and Elise Smithton.
She is survived by her husband, Bro. Ed Fulkerson of Sonora; one son, Dennis Fulkerson of White Milles; three daughters, Mona Sanders of Upton, Roxann Smith of Sonora and Sue Hudson of Cecilia; two sisters, Mary Priddy of Glendale and Joyce Fierro of Cincinnatti, OH; one brother, Roy Smith of Louisville, ten grandchildren and eleven great granchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 14, 2002 at Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Charles A. Stanton and Rev. Lendell Shirley officiating with Manakee Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Burial was in the Sonora Cemetery.
