Hessie Alice Hornsby, age 77, of Leitchfield died on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 15, 1925 in Clarkson, Kentucky, as the daughter of Harvey and Cora Pearl Clark.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, James Hubert Lush and John Kennedy Hornsby.
She is survived by four daughters, Rita Carolyn White, Linda Rodard, and Wanda Kersey, all of Leitchfield, and Donna White of Madisonville, Kentucky; two sons, James Bill Lush of Clarkson and Charles Lush of Leitchfield; one sister, Hazel Rough of Clarkson. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Clarkson.
Joseph Carroll Drane
1939-2003
Joseph Carroll Drane, age 63, of SeRee, Kentucky, died on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on June 6, 1939 in SeRee, as the son of Paul Drane and Emma Ruth Niles.
He was retired from LG & E and a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Westview, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Josie Drane; one brother, Bill Drane; and two sisters, Barbara Carman and Magdeline Drane.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Drane of SeRee; three daughters, Gwen and son-in law Donnie Peek of Westview, Jackie Drane of SeRee, Libby and son-in-law Chris Woosley of Caneyville, Kentucky; two sons, Adam Drane of SeRee, Kevin Drane and daughter-in-law, Theresa of Hudson, Kentucky; two sisters, Peggy Moore of Kingswood, Kentucky and Nancy Lucas of SeRee; four brothers, Jim Drane of Owensboro, Kentucky, Jack Drane of SeRee, Eddie Drane of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, and Tony Drane of Westview, Kentucky. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Christy Bloomfield, Derick Whitworth, Nicholas & Tiffany Peek, Shawn & Brett Woosley, and Noah Drane.
Rosemary Cissell Johnson
1929-2003
Rosemary Cissell Johnson, age 74, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born on April 2, 1929 in Louisville as the daughter of Joseph Dolor and Roxie Ewing Smith Welling Cissell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Johnson; one son, David Johnson; and two daughters, Brenda and Wanda Johnson.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Herrera of Ft. Meyers, Fla. and Cathy Newton of Hudson; four sons, Steve Johnson of Louisville, James Danny Johnson of Hudson, Thomas Johnson of LeHigh Acres, Fla., and Charles Johnson of Fairdale; three sisters, Jenetta Spears of Lynwood, Cal., Alma Mattingly of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Linda Brewster of Louisville; four brothers, Joseph, Charles, Patrick, and James Cissell, all of Louisville. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 4, 2003 at the Watson and Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial park in Louisville.
Walton Embry

Walton Embry, 77, of Caneyville, passed away Saturday, February 14th, 2015 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
He was born on April 30th, 1937 in Caneyville, the son of the late Henry and Gertha (Carter) Embry. Walton was a member of the Caneyville Gospel Light Missionary Baptist Church. He had owned several businesses and enjoyed wood working. He was also a former member and fire chief of the Caneyville Fire Department.
Walton is survived by his wife, Laverne Embry; seven daughters, Cynthia Embry (Phil) of GA, Carrie Waltina Embry of Leitchfield, Ann Brooks (Jeff) of Caneyville, Amy Daley (Joe), Misty Thomas (Jason) and Buffy Perkins (Ernie) all of Leitchfield and Kylee Sipes of Bowling Green; one step-son, Albert Decker of Caneyville; two step-daughters, Yevonna Styers (Steve) of Louisville and Kim Henning (Roy) of Caneyville; one brother, Wendell Embry of Caneyville; three sisters, Edith Bivins, Alene Baker and Nina Crume all of Louisville; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Noel, Paul, Porter and Brent Embry and two sisters, Faustine Cooper and Carmen Slaughter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25th at 11:00 am at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Kevin Logsdon and Bro Randall Deweese will be officiating. Burial will be in the Frank and Embry Cemetery weather permitting.
Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Monday after 4:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9 am until time of service.
Jamie Lee Pence
1982-2003
Jamie Lee Pence, age 21, of Clarkson, died on Friday, July 25, 2003.
He was born on July 13, 1982, as the son of Karen Fulkerson and Dale Pence. He was a 2001 graduate of Grayson County High School. He worked at Dana Corporation in Elizabethtown and was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Karen and James Dale Fulkerson of Clakrson; his father, Dale Pence of Big Clifty; two brothers, Joshua and Jonathon Fulkerson of Clarkson; one sister, Hollye Pence of Clarkson; his grandparents, Bryan and Glenda Hatfield of Big Clifty and Curtis and Lynnette Pence of Big Clifty and James and Frances Fulkerson of Big Clifty and one great-grandmother, Mabel Pence.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2003 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson with Bro. James Studer and Bro. Art Hatfield officiating.
Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery at Big Clifty.
Rev. Frank W. Jarboe
1912-2003
Rev. Frank W. Jarboe, age 91, of East View, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Warren, Michigan.
He was a native of Breckinridge County. He formerly pastored the Pilgrim Holiness Churches in Wooten and Clay, the Wesleyan Church in Shepherdsville, Hilltop Wesleyan Church in Elizabethtown and East View Wesleyan Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lettie Mae Jarboe; one daughter, Mary Emma Jarboe, and his parents, John F. and Eliza Noblett Jarboe.
He is survived by two sons, Alan Jarboe of Paducah and Dr. Charles Daniel Jarboe of Leitchfield; two daughters, Carolyn Elaine Rumble of Chesterfield, Mich. and Nancy Jean Ellwood of Wilmore; a brother, Brown Jarboe of Bowling Green; two sisters, Vera Faulkner of Jackson and Margaret Camp of Tennessee. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 19, 2003 at East View Wesleyan Church.
Burial was in the Meeting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
