Doris Jean Carroll, age 72, of Leitchfield, died on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the Grayson Manor in Leitchfield.
She was born on February 4, 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky as the daughter of James and Gertie Probus Whobrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Carroll one daughter, Susan Ellen Carroll; and one brother, James A. Whobrey.
She is survived by two sons, James and John Carroll, both of Leitchfield; one daughter, Lois Mattingly of Leitchfield; two brothers, Bobby and George Whobrey, both of Leitchfield; two sisters, Betty Whobrey of Atlanta, Georgia and Juanita Turner of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Sanders Cemetery.
Jo Frances Carter
1944-2003
Jo Frances Carter, age 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, died on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Kindred Hospital.
She was a clerical worker for Jefferson Medical Associates and a member of Faith Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Poole; one son, Brian Carter; three grandchildren, Cara Poole and Cody and McKenna Carter; her ex-husband, Howard "Butch" Carter; one sister, Alice Franklin; one brother, Harlan "Lucky" Hayes.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky.
Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Park.
Leonard Edwin Clark
1944-2003
Leonard Edwin Clark, age 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, died on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at his residence.
He was a native of Grayson County, a retired employee of the Caterpillar Company, and a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth and Annie Cannon Clark; and two brothers, Joseph Rudolph and Harold Clifford Clark.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Kay Smittengale; one son, Brian Douglas Clark; one brother, Sheridan Clark; one sister, Kathleen Dennison; and his girl friend, Joan Craig, who cared for him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Friends may call until time for services.
Burial will be in the Duff Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may go to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
J. C. Hall
1939-2003
J. C. Hall, age 63, of Fordsville, Kentucky, died on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on February 6, 1939 in Fordsville, Kentucky.
He was a retired truck driver from AGRO Distribution, LLC.
He is survived by one son, Darren Hall of Fordsville; one daugher, Cathy Whobrey of Leitchfield; two brothers, Doug and Cody Hall, both of Fordsville; and one sister, Marion Milam of Fordsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 21,2003 at Geary Funeral Home.
Burial was in Fordsville.
Michael Loyd Skaggs
1954-2003
Michael Loyd Skaggs, age 48, of Clarkson, Kentucky, died on Friday, January 17, 2003 in Collin County, Texas.
He was born on December 27, 1954 in Grayson County as the son of Henry Lloyd and Betty Jean Jones-Skaggs.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Henry and Barbara Skaggs of Big Clifty; three sisters, Marsha Jaggers of Leitchfield, Michelle Decker of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Renee Jeffries of Nowata, Oklahoma; one brother, J. T. Skaggs of Goosecreek, South Carolina; one half-brother, Henry Skaggs Jr. of Georgia; his fiance, Marina Basham of Cecilia, Kentucky. Also surviving several aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Clarkson Cemetery.
Frieda Lambert Floyd
1919-2003
Frieda Lambert Floyd, age 84, of Olaton died on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on March 14, 1919 in Grayson County as the daughter of Audie Morgan and Annie Mabel Crawford Lambert.
She was a retired accountant for Seagram's Distillery, a treasurer and caregiver of the McGrady Creek Cemetery and was a member of McGrady Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Floyd; and a brother, Hershel Lambert.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Wood of Olaton and Jackie Beville of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Joseph Wood and Regina Robinson, both of Georgia, Kimberly Hope of Alabama, Lisa Cottrell of Louisville and Christy Terry of Frankfort; and a niece, Pamela Bugg of Ann Arbor, Mich. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the McGrady Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dick Campbell officiating.
Burial was in the McGrady Creek Cemetery.
