He was born on May 16, 1913.
He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and WWII Veteran of the Army.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Isaac Clark and Sarah Ellen Pearl Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Clark of Leitchield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Martin E. Hayes officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Mary Alice Phelps Wheatley
1923-2003
Mary Alice Phelps Wheatley, age 80, of Leitchfield died on Friday, November 14, 2003 in Leitchfield.
She was born on June 6, 1923 in Butler County as the daughter of Rudolph and Martha Kessinger Phelps. She was a retired manager of the Castle Restaurant.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie and his wife, Mary Ross of Clarkson; three daughters, Betty Stone, Brenda and her husband, Frank, and Debbie and her husband, Larry, all of Leitchfield; one sister, Juanita Crowder of Somerset. Also surviving are six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dolphus and Roy Lee Phelps.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Layman Memorial Gardens.
Murrell T. Dean
1942-2002
Murrel T. Dean, age 60, of Louisville, Kentucky died on Monday, December 23, 2002 at the Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
He was born on December 02, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky as the son of Henry and Cova Yates Dean.
He was an inspector for the Ford Motor Co. in Louisille, was a member of the Rock and Roll Revival Band, a member of the local UAW, and a member of the Rockford View United Baptist Church in Louisville.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly "Belle" Dean of Louisville; two sons, Michael and Tommy Dean of Louisville; one daughter, Julie Davis of Louisville; two brothers, Larry Dean of Louisville and Harold Dean of Big Clifty. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 27, 2002 at the Kennan Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky with the Rev. Edward Dermitt officiating.
Burial was in the Claggett Cemetery in Leitchfield. The Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield was in charge of the arrangements.
Cesnia Farris
1917-2003
Cesnia Farris, age 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at the Briarwood Health Rehabilitation Center in Louisville.
She was born on October 16, 1917 as the daughter of Clarence and Emma Embry Smith. She was a member of Bicknell Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos and two stepchildren, Woodrow Farris and Birchel Stevens.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Blunk and Dorothy Peifer, both of Louisville; one stepson, Edsel Farris of Brooks, Kentucky; and one stepdaughter, Marcel Hardy of Monroe, Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, Kentucky, with Bro. Jerry Smart officiating.
Burial was in the Chapel Union Cemetery.
William "Bob" Robert West
1942-2003
William "Bob" Robert West, age 60, of Leitchfield, formerly of Shepherdsville, died on Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 6, 1942 as the son of Clarence and the late Edna Rth Meredith West in Leitchfield.
He was the retired owner/operator of Bob West & Son Auto Repair, a Army National Guard for six years, and a member of Zoneton Lions Club.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Allen West and Steven Wayne West; his mother and father, Brenda Jo West and Clarence West; a brother, Thomas West; step-sisters and step-brothers, Shirlene Fentress, Mary Smith, Jerry, Randy, Dorman and Myron Weedman; sisters and brother-in-law, Cassandra West, Paula Hatfield, Kay Pierson and Jim Woodcock. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the family owned Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Preston Highway at Brooks Road.
Burial will be in the Brookland Cemetery.
