Corinne Majors
1919-2003

Corinne Majors, age 84, of Leitchfield, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on April 26, 1919 in Ohio County as the daughter of Cortis and Cora Leach McCormack. She was a housewife and was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Majors; two children, Judith Ann and Jerry Mack Majors; two brothers, B B and Homer McCormack; and one sister, Mable Kirby.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and John Cariel of Leitchfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Sharon Majors of Leitchfield and Mike and Mary Louise Majors of Caneyville; one sister, Myrtle Hudson of Leitchfield. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Shawn, Heath, Victoria and Faith Majors, and Talia and Bryce Carial; two great-grandchildren, Brett and Logan Majors.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 4, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Revs. Chester Shartzer, David Brown and Bob Sutton officiating.

Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.

Amos Edward Elmore
1919-2003

Amos Edward Elmore, age 83, of Clarkson, died on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at his residence.

He was born on October 15, 1919 in Edmonson County, Ky. as the son of Seth Thomas and Fannie Vincent Elmore. He was a WWII army veteran, a commercial carpenter, a farmer, and was a member of the Mill Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marnettie Mae Elmore; four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Nell Elmore of Clarkson; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ralph Smith Jr. of Leitchfield; one sister, Bertha Schneider of California; three grandchildren, Charlie Elmore and Brooke Smith of Leitchfield and Todd Elmore of Mayfield. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Odell Embry and Bro. Joseph Cooper officiating.

Burial was in the Leitchfield Memorial Gardens.

Clark Barton
1919-2003

Clark Barton, age 84, of Leitchfield, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 in Leitchfield.

He was born on August 27, 1919. He was a retired plumber and member of United Pentecostal Church in Leitchfield.

He is survived by his wife, Doris McCoy Barton of Leitchfield; three sons, Walter Barton of Leitchfield, Steve Barton of Tennessee, and Lucian Barton of Bowling Green. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Francis Marion Barton and Cora Belle Wilson Barton; one daughter, Norma Barton; and eight brothers and sisters and one half-sister.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Hack officiating.

Burial was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Harold D. Skaggs
1925-2002

Harold D. Skaggs, age 77, of Louisville, Kentucky (formerly of Grayson County) died on Monday, December 30, 2002 in Louisville.

He was a retired inspector of Ford Company, Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of E-Z-Duz-It-Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evis Decker Skaggs.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bud) Whitaker, Jr. and Mary Jane; two granddaughters and grandson-in-laws, Robin and Bill Bates, and Susan and Jeff Borne'; a trusted friend, Everett Long; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving 10 great-grandchildren, Leah, Todd, Brooks, Bobby, Austin, Tyler, Machenzie, Jordan, Emily & Shane.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with the Rev. Lindon Robinson officiating.

Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery.

Emma Lois Goodwin Wright
1907-2003

Emma Lois Goodwin Wright, age 95, of Leitchfield died on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

She was born on November 13, 1907.

She was a member of Eastern Star, Grayson County Senior Citizens, and the Canasta Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Florence Carroll Goodwin; her husband, Benjamin H. Wright Sr.; her daughter, Nancye Wright Brizendine; and her son, Benjamin H. Wright Jr.

She is survived by one grandson, Robert Wright; two granddaughters, Maurice Wright Fletcher and Judi Jane Wright Edlin, both of Leitchfield; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Dermitt officiating.

Burial was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
