He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Martin Frakes, one step daughter, Susan Logsdon, and one sister, Clara Mae Corbett.
He is survived by his companion, Carolyn Joyce Weyler of Clarkson; two daughters, Kimberly Morrell of Russellville, Kentucky and Doris Lee Mellot of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; his mother, Ruby Elizabeth Frakes of Vine Grove, Kentucky; three step daughters, Vickie Brooks and Judy Gray, both of Clarkson, and Lori Clopton of Leitchfield; two brothers, Larry Frakes of Louisville, Kentucky and Darold Frakes of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Elaine Youravich of Rineyville, Kentucky, Darlene Beiver of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Lynette Whelan of Vine Grove. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 4, 2003 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove with Rev. Christian Burton officiating.
Burial was in the North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff, Kentucky.
Paula Gail Hazelwood
1964-2003
Paula Gail Hazelwood, age 38, of Big Clifty, died on Friday, May 30, 2003 in Grayson County as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born on October 7, 1964 as the daughter of Robert Lee and Hattie Elizabeth Gore.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hazelwood of Big Clifty; two sons, Nicholas Scott and Elliot Lee Hazelwood, both of Big Clifty; one daughter, Madison Tyler Hazelwood of Big Clifty; one step-son, Joseph Anthony Huff of St. Paul; her mother, Hattie Gore of Clarkson; one sister, Patsie Miller of Clarkson; three brothers, Donnie and Bobby Gore, both of Clarkson, and James Gore of Big Clifty.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Clarkson Cemetery.
McKinley Smith Jr.
1932-2003
McKinley Smith Jr., age 70, of Caneyville died on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.
He was born on November 24, 1932 in Grayson County as the son of McKinley and Irene Day Smith. He was a member of Caneyville Presbyterian Cumberland Church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Smith of Caneyville; two daughters, Nancy Leasor of West Virginia and Marcia (Crickett) Embry of Caneyville; one brother, Chesteen Smith of Virginia; two sisters, Frances Hall of Caneyville and Betty Crowe of New York. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenny, Jason, and Jonathan Leasor, Lora and Andrew Embry.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home Caneyville Chapel with Rev. Elizabeth Milby officiating.
Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Sarah Elizabeth Stinson
1916-2003
Sarah Elizabeth Stinson, age 87, of Caneyville died on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the home of her daughter.
She was born on September 6, 1916 as the daughter of Leslie and Mallie Geary Decker. She was a housewife and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Madgleane Cummings and Myrtle Mudd, both of Caneyville, Goldie Lemons of Leitchfield and Fannie Haynes of Morgantown; two brothers, Herbert Decker of Millwood, and Harrison Decker of Shepherdsville; five sisters, Ora Travis of Louisville, Mary Mudd and Mildred Nash, both of Caneyville, Aline Cummings of Falls of Rough, and Alice Decker of Florida. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlen Stinson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Pleasant Union United Baptist Church with Rev. Lowell Davis and Rev. Roy Miller officiating.
Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.
Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville was in charge of the arrangements.
Rodney Ray Harvey
1974-2002
Rodney Ray Harvey, age 28, of Clarkson, Kentucky died on Sunday, December 29, 2002 in Caneyville, Kentucky.
He was born on November 29, 1974 in Ohio County, Kentucky as the son of Robert and Donna Maiden Harvey.
He was a logger.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Donna Harvey of Clarkson; one brother, Steven Harvey of Clarkson; one sister, April Harvey of Clarkson; and his maternal grandmother, Della Maiden of Hartford.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Andy Coblentz officiating.
Burial was in the Horse Branch Cemetery in Kentucky.
Lucille Skeeters Conder
1921-2003
Lucille Skeeters, age 82, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Breckinridge County, of Baptist faith, and worked at the Maple Motel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Conder; two sons, Larry Dale Conder and Charles E. Conder; her parents, Node and Lula Hager Skeeters; and one sister, Margaret McCamish.
She is survived by a son, Lloyd D. Conder of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 31, 2003 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Charles A. Stanton officiating.
Burial was in the Howevalley Cemetery.
