Margie House Ballenger, 82, of Falls of Rough, formerly of Owensboro, died on Saturday, August 10, 2002 at her home.
The Alabama native was retired from General Electric as a quality control inspector, a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, the auxiliaries of AmVets, American Legion and VFW, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death one son, Edwin "Snookie" Nash.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Ballenger; one son, W. Tony House of Friendly Village; four daughters, Mary Alys Bratcher of Brooksville, FL, Gayle McElwain, Kathi Graves, and Sheila House-Bruington, all of Owensboro; seventeen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro.
Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Susie Glover
Susie Glover, 44, of 907 Carson Drive, Lilac Apts. #15, Leitchfield died on Saturday, June 15, 2002 in Leitchfield.
She was born on February 3, 1958 as the daughter of Catherine Claycomb and Phillip F. Glover.
She was a member of the American Legion Post #81 and Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Catherine Claycomb of Leitchfield; two daughters, Stefanie Gaither and Chrystal Hardin both of Leitchfield; one grandson, Alex Ray Riggs; two brothers, Phillip Glover of Leitchfield and Ken Glover of Pt. Alleghany, PA and one half-brother, Jason Glover of Mt. Washington, KY.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Wilbur Oller officiating.
Burial was in the Hack-Oller Cemetery.
George B. Mercer
George B. Mercer Sr., 75, of Leitchfield died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 21, 1927, in Grayson County, as the son of Ed and Eliza Cook Mercer.
He was a WWII Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Logsdon Mercer; two daughters, Shirley Penner and Barbara Searcy both of Leitchfield; four sons, George and Jerry Mercer both of Leitchfield, Darrell Mercer of Louisville and Harrell Mercer of Eddieville; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 14, 2002 at the home of Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Bill Newton Cemetery at Blowtown.
Logan Lee Tucker
2001-2002
Logan Lee Tucker, 10 months, of Leitchfield died on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Kosair in Louisville.
He was born on December 16, 2001.
He is survived by his parents, Jessie and Pat Tucker of Leitchfield; two sisters, Michelle Colon of Dover, Delaware and Helen Tucker of Leitchfield; one brother, Greg Higdon of Owensboro; maternal grandmother, Cecelia Layson of St. Petersburg, FL and paternal grandfather, Omer Lee Tucker.
Funeral services were held on October 18, 2002 at Antioch United Methodist Church with Bro. Gerald Elliott officiating with Watkins-Oller Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Burial was in the Antioch Methodist Church.
Fay Wortham Kinser
1914-2003
Fay Wortham Kinser, age 88, of Leitchfield, died on Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Woodland Terrace Health Care in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
She was born on December 23, 1914 in Grayson County as the daughter of Owen and Mallie Layman Wortham. She was a housewife and a member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell "Buck" Kinser; two sisters, Alma Tomes Hill and Anna Mae Wortham; and one brother, John Layman Wortham.
She is survived by special friends and caregivers, Brenda and Leonard Carnes of Leitchfield.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Buddy Brooks officiating.
Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Norman C. Priddy
1935-2002
Norman C. Priddy, 67, of Upton died on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at the Bowling Green Medical Center.
He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Upton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Priddy; mother, Anna (Riggs) Priddy; two brothers, James Priddy and Charles Priddy and one sister, Mary Eads.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Priddy of Upton; one son, Norman Priddy Jr. of Elizabethtown; one sister, Anna Jonell Estes of Summersville; one brother, Kenneth R. Priddy of Parksburg, PA and one granchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton with Rev. Nicky Ferguson and Rev. Earl Sanders officiating.
Burial was in the Upton Cemetery.
