Eula Johnson Dunn, age 86, of Clarkson, Kentucky, died on Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Leitchfield.
She was born on October 27, 1916. She was a homemaker and bookkeepper for Clarkson Drug Store. She was a member of Leitchfield Christian Church and served as Sunday School Secretary.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Leonard Johnson and Lula VanMeter Johnson; one sister, Irene Sandisky; and one brother, Alford Lee Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Arville Dunn of Clarkson; her daughter, Marcia Crain of Leitchfield; two sons, David Dunn of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Phillip Dunn of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; four brothers, Estil Johnson of Clarkson, Lamar and Shely Johnson, both of Louisville, Kentucky, and James Johnson of Upton, Kentucky; three sisters, Virgie Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, Rosella Boswell of Leitchfield, and Mildred Gibson of Coal City, Illinois.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. David Brown and Bro. Art Hatfield officiating.
Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Leitchfield.
Charlene Belle Young
1927-2003
Charlene Belle Young, age 76, of Mountain View, California, died on Sunday, June 1, 2003.
She was born on April 25, 1927. She was a registered nurse, homemaker, and volunteered her time at the Los Altos (California) Senior Center.
She was married
for 50 years to her husband Bill Young who survives her. Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Young of Scotts Valley, California, and Mark Young of Mountain View; two daughters, Patricia Bland of Paso Robles, California, and Nancy Kearns of Hollister, California. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Yates Charbonneau and Charles Marcus Charbonneau; and her parents, Virginia Rhea Yates-Charbonneau and Phillip Charles Charbonneau, residents of Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.
Clyde V. Parrish
1912-2003
Clyde V. Parrish, age 91 of Clarkson, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003
He was born on July 17, 1912, the son of Lucian L. and Marcia Badgett Parrish. He was retired from General Electric in Louisville and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leitchfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian L. and Marcia Badgett Parish and one daughter, Marca Jean Briscoe.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Parish of Clarkson; two sons, Marvin R. Parrish of Hardin Springs, Ky., and Charles Parrish of Stoutsville, MO; and three daughters, Shirley Harris of Clarkson; Glenda Redmon of Stoutsville, MO.; and Charlotte Rogers of Clarkson.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. in Clarkson at Roger-Oller Funeral Home with Brother Sam Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, Ky.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Sept. 24 after 8:30 a.m.
Mary Jones Lowrey Vaughn
1914-2003
Mary Jones Lowrey Vaughn, age 89, of Louisville died on Monday, December 1, 2003 at the Twinbrook Nursing Home in Louisville.
She was born on March 22, 1914 in Louisville as the daughter of William Simpson Jones and the former Nellie Bly Harper. She was a retired apartment manager of the Salem Square Apartments, former owner and operator of Mary's Antiques in Leitchfield, Shelbyville and Louisville, past president of the Leitchfield Woman's Club and Leitchfield PTA, a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Vaughn of Louisville; her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Russell Hackley of Clarkson; her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert "Hub" and Kris Lowrey of Phoenix, Ariz.; two step-children, Lynda Simmonds and Raymond Vaughn Jr., both of New Jersey. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, JoNell Hackley Henderson and Alison Hackley, both of Clarkson, Mildred Hackley Ward of Frankfort, Lisa Lowrey of Calif., Alan Lowrey of Washington, D.C., Sheria Howell of Upton, Mike Howell and Mary Elizabeth Vincent, both of Leitchfield, T. J. Howell of Wisconsin, and Tim Howell of Iowa; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Wilson Lowrey; one son, Jimmy Howell; and three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Jamie Ward, Rev. Art Hatfield and Bro. Jim Henderson officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clarkson Baptist Church buildling fund.
Joby Hayse
1915-2003
Joby Hayse, age 88, of Grayson Manor Nursing Home, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in Leitchfield.
He was born on August 20, 1915.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mart and Anna Liza Hayse; and his wife, Mary Scott Hayse.
He is survived by two granddaughters, Lynn Dennis and Anette Hayse, both of Leitchfield; one great-grandson, Bryan Dennis of Leitchfield; and one daughter-in-law, Norma Hayse of Leitchfield. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 3, 2003 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Denver Decker officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery.
