He was born on January 3, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edmon Alvey; his mother, Ona Powell Alvey; and his sister, Jill Alvey.
He is survived by his two brothers, Hershell Alvey of Cub Run, and Lowell Alvey of Leitchfield.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Benedict Cemetery.
Willie Earl Langley
1921-2003
Willie Earl Langley, age 82, of Leitchfield died on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on June 8, 1921 in Grayson County as the son of James and Essie Mingus Langley. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Stone Langley; one daughter, Dorothy M. Hayes of Leitchfield; one son, James Clinton Langley of Leitchfield; one sister, Edith Downs of Leitchfield. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Deborah Ann Hayes Elliott of Leitchfield; and one great-granddaughter, Brittany Elliott.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Edgar "Pete" Hayes Jr.; and one brother, Audra Langley.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Larry Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Carlie Sego
1943-2003
Carlie Sego, age 60, of Clarkson died on Monday, December 15, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on November 14, 1943 in Grayson County as the son of Elza and Alma Clemons Sego. He was a photographer and an employee of Wilson & Muir Bank and was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Brown Sego; one daughter, Carla Faye Payton of Hodgenville; two sisters, Marlene Elliott of Clarkson and Virgie Skaggs of Louisville; a godson, Devin Ward; and his parents, Mike and Debra Ward, all of Big Clifty. Also surviving are two grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Reverends Vurles Logsdon and Joe Brooks officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.
Hobart Murrell Tucker
1921-2003
Hobart Murrell Tucker, age 82, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on August 25, 1921 in Roth, Ky. as the son of Rev. Z F and Ida Mae Hines Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Wilson Tucker; two daughters, Sharon Mathis and Carol Swift, both of Leitchfield; and one sister, Ramona Tilghman of Cookeville, Tenn. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amy Snyder and Tammy Wilson, both of Leitchfield, and Debbie Ulto of Spring Hill, Fla.; five great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Rocky Wilson o f Rineyville and Crystal Richardson of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheryl Tucker; his parents; and one grandson, Michael Scott Swift.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Murrell Meredith officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Esta Dotson
1937-2003
Esta Dotson, age 66, of Morgantown died on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at her residence.
She was born in Butler County on September 25, 1937 as the daughter of Ernest and Victoria Lacefield Dotson.
She is survived by two brothers, Oval Dotson of Louisville and Joe Dotson of Morgantown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Woodcock Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Elmore officiating.
Clara Horton
1931-2003
Clara Horton, age 72, of Munfordville died on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
She was born November 17, 1931 in Cub Run as the daughter of Henry Pete Merideth and Ora Strange Merideth. She was a homemaker, a member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church and In God We Trust Church in Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Horton of Munfordville; her daughter, Pamela Horton of Horse Cave; three sons, Billy Horton and Joyce Avery of Kessinger, Gary Horton and Gina of Shelbyville, James Horton and Lydia of Lexington; one sister, Alma "Bobby" Mattingly of Leitchfield; four half sisters, Rose Howard of Leitchfield, Betty Jane Horton of Kessinger, Lois Roof of Eveleigh, and Patricia Newton of Leitchfield; and one half brother, Donnie Horton of Hudson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Verna "Becky" Rowley; her parents; and two grandsons, John Lee Horton and Jonathan Griffin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church with Pastor Bobby Neil oficiating.
Burial was in the Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville.
Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
