Mary Thomas Skaggs Hatfield, 84 of Big Clifty, died Saturday, Dec. 20.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1919, the daughter of Berthal and Lizzie Tucker Skaggs. She was a housewife and a member of Little Flock Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Berthal and Lizzie Tucker Skaggs and her husband Wavie Hatfield.
She is survived by six daugthers, Norma Rackwell, Christeen Beeler of Sonora, Ky., Wanda L. Neuner of Louisville, Helen Marie Polk of Leitchfield, Mayonna Creekmore of Elizabethtown, and Bonnie Lou Smith of New Haven, Ky.; two sons Stanley Ray Hatfield of Georgia and William Dale Hatfield of Custer, Ky.; and one sister Dessie Montelonga of Georgia.
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson. Brother David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit Monday, Dec. 22 after 2 p.m. at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.
T J Lee
1938-2003
T J Lee, age 65, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on July 30, 1938 in Butler County as the son of Roscoe and Rosa Woosley Lee. He was a former barber and manager of the WK Parkway and was a former member of the Church of Christ, past president of the Jaycees and past captain of the Leitchfield Fire Department.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Lee Goins of Padacah and Penny Lee Butler of Hardinsburg; one adopted son, Roby Lee of Florence; five sisters, Ruth Embry, Emma Lou Britt, Pat Porter and Deloris Glenn, all of Leitchfield and Vernita Ingram of Morgantown. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Sarah Denise Shelton, Ashley Ann Goins, Matthew Thomas Butler, Rachel Erin Butler, and Hannah Lee Butler; one great-grandson, Ethan Andrew Shelton.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Arvil Clinton Blankenship
1939-2003
Arvil Clinton Blankenship, 63 of Leitchfield, died Saturday, Dec. 13 at his home in Leitchfield.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1939 in Breckinridge Co., Ky., the son of the late John and Lorain Clark Blankenship.
He was a retired mechanic for Allied Waste and was a member of the Sunny Point General Baptist Church and the Bad News Bears Bowling Team.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Trish Haycraft.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Blankenship of Leitchfield; three sons Christopher Blankenship of Leitchfield; Marion Blankenship of Sunny Point and Thomas Blankenship of Huff; three daughters Lisa Davis of Maysville, Judy Hayes and Brenda Stapleton of Leitchfield; three brothers Robert, Boyd and Dwight Blankenship of Fairfield; and his sisters Shirley Aubrey and Barbara Clemons of Hudson. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Sunny Point General Baptist Church. Brother Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Point Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 15 and at the Sunny Point General Baptist Church after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Anna Tulla Hale
1918-2003
Anna Tully Hale, age 85, of Big Clifty died on Monday, December 8, 2003 in Elizabethtown.
She was born on November 22, 1918. She was a housewife and member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Dupin Tully; and husband, J. G. Hale.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Hale of Big Clifty and John Hale of Hudson, Ohio. Also surviving are two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Martin E. Hayes officiating.
Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Rogers-Oller Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
Leonard Pierce
1920-2003
Leonard Pierce, age 83, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on January 30, 1920. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was retired from D. G. Hayes.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Pierce of Leitchfield; five sons, Bruce Pierce of Clarkson, Roger, Johnny and Timmy Pierce, all of Leitchfield, and Tommy Pierce of Stephensburg; three daughters, Joyce Green, Libby Pierce and Kathy Bell, all of Leitchfield; four sisters, Eula Gross of Leitchfield, Mary Charles Johnston of Clarkson, Billie Johnston of Hart County, Ruby Swallen of Indiana; and a special friend, Junior Alvey of Leitchfield. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara Lush Pierce.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 12, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Dave Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Rogers-Oller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
