Randel Scott Sanders, age 52, of Clarkson, died on Friday, June 27, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born on August 2, 1950 in Jefferson County as the son of Elmer E. and Mossie Skaggs Sanders. He was a member of the Ollie United Baptist Church in Edmonson County, and he was a member of the Boaz Lodge #850 in Louisville. He worked as a utility operator at General Electric Company in Louisville.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Anderson Sanders of Clarkson; one son and daughter-in-law, Staff Sergeant John and Kristie Sanders of SC; one daughter and son-in-law, Tara and James Nicholas Roberts III of NC; his parents, Elmer and Mossie Skaggs Sanders of Edmonson County; four brothers, Cary and David Carter of Louisville, Rick Sanders of Mt. Washington, and Mark Sanders of Shepherdsville; and one sister, Karen Rose Simon of Louisville. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 30, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Randy Blair officiating.
Randel Sanders was cremated.
Judith Ann Carnefix
Judith Ann Carnefix, 58, of Elizabethtown died on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
She was a native of Grayson County, a Deputy Jailer in Crawford, AK, a member of the Gilead Baptist Church and a past member of Eastern Star #174. R.A.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Cora Basham Ruth and one sister.
She is survived by two daughter, Sandra Lindsey of Horse Cave, Bridget Schoening of Van Buren, AK; one son, Ted Wallace of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Elaine Sims of Hardinsburg and Betty Hill of Pleasure Ridge Park; one son-in-law, Joe Lindsey of Horse Cave; eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Rick Trumbo officiating.
The body was cremated.
Virginia Ree Eanes
Virginia Ree Eanes, 83, of 215 Eanes Drive, Leitchfield died on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at her residence.
She was born on March 15, 1919 as the daughter of the late Lawrence Barnes and Bertha Dee Lucas Barnes.
She was a housewife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Eanes and granddaughter, Paula Kay Goodman.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Goodman of Leitchfield and Barbara Elaine Spain of Louisville; one son, Ronald E. Eanes of Leitchfield; two brothers, Virgil Henry Barnes of Louisville and Ova Lewis Barnes of Campbellsburg; two sisters, Francis Carman of Leitchfield and Opal Lucas of Louisville; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 5, 2002 at Watkins-Oller Fuenral Home with Bro. Murrell Meredith officiating.
Burial was in teh Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Lily Blair
1911-2002
Lily Blair, age 91, of Lexington died on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Heritage Manor in Colfax, Illinois.
She was born on September 1, 1911 in Sadler as the daughter of the late Albert and Becky nee Saltsmon King.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 1975, William Blair; an infant son, Albert Lee at birth, brothers and sisters, Lottie, Tiny, Abe and Virgil.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Harold) Montgomery, and Elsa (Richard) Hutchings both of Lexington, Illinois; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, two step great grandchildren, three step great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond King and Teddy Decker, both of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 11, 2002 at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. in Oswego, Illinois.
Burial was in the Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, Illinois.
Zelma LaVerne Crawford
Zelma LaVerne Crawford, 76, of Leitchfield died on Friday, April 12, 2002 at Leitchfield Health Care Manor.
She was a native of Bullitt County and a baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Crawford.
She is survived by her husband W. D. Crawford of Leitchfield; two daughters, Luann Portman of Louisville and Connie Ashley of Vine Grove; a niece Agnes Broaderway of Laverne, AL; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with Rev. Carl Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Hebron Cemetery.
Nequetta Faye King
Nequetta Faye King, 57, of Leitchfield died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
She was born on February 12, 1945 in Grayson County as the daughter of Owen Cook and Corda Rhea Cook.
She was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Owen Cook and one brother, Willard Cook.
She is survived by her husband, Leon King; two daughters, Rheaetta Belcher and Paula Cirillo, both of Leitchfield; brother, Brad Cook of Caneyville; sister, Barbara Embry of Leitchfield; mother, Corda Hack of Leitchfield; two grandchildren, Christina Jones and Jason Belcher both of Leitchfield, step-mother, Katie Cook of Caneyville and son-in-laws, Paul Belcher and James Cirillo, both of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at the New Freedom Baptist Church with Watson and Hunt Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Burial was in the New Freedom Church cemetery.
