Gregory J. Lee
1961-2003

Gregory J. Lee, age 42 of Morgantown, died Friday, August 22, 2003 in Elizabethtown.

He was born April 3, 1961, the son of S.J. and Marilyn Woodcock Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Burden Lee of Morgantown; two daughters, Terrah and Talisha Lee, both of Morgantown; his mother and stepfather, James and Marilyn Lee Lamb of Caneyville; one brother, Mark Lee of Caneyville; and one sister Beth Lee Embry of Caneyville; his maternal grandmother, Christal Woodcock of Caneyville; three nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 25 at noon at the Flatwood Church of Christ with Brother James Studer officiating.

Burial will be in the Flatwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 5-9 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Stan J. Thompson
1955-2003

Stan J. Thompson, age 48, of Louisville died on Thursday, October 16, 2003.

He was an electronic technician for the U.S. Post Office for 17 years and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son, Roy J. Thompson; daughter, Kristen M. Lawson; brothers, Steven and Martin Thompson; mother, Clara L. Thompson; father, Howard James Thompson; two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 17, 2003 at his church in Louisville.

Burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West.

Maurice "Reece" Beasley
1931-2003

Maurice "Reece" Beasley, age 72, of Caneyville, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 14, 1931 as the son of Azro Wayne and Nola Lindsey Beasley.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by one son, Boris Minton of Caneyville; two daughters, Angala Elmore and Sherry Foreman, both of Caneyville; two adopted children, Lee and Lorie; two brothers, Wade Beasley of Morgantown and Robert Beasley of Caneyville. Also surviving are one grandson, five granddaughters , one great-granddaughter, and three adopted grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. Stanley Elmore and Bro. Dewey Baker officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mable Snellen
1914-2003

Mable Snellen, age 89, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at Leitchfield Health Care Manor in Leitchfield.

She was born on May 29, 1914 in Nelson County as the daughter of Harry and Mary Jane Rummage Cook.

Survivors include two sons, Harold W. Cox of Hodgenville and Bobby F. Cox of Louisville; and two brothers, Ben cook of High Grove and Herman Cook of Chaplain. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.

Marshall Cheek
1947-2003

Marshall Cheek, age 56, of Maceo, died on August 2, 2003 at his residence.

He was born in Ohio County Ky. He was retired from Owensboro Municipal Utilities, and was a member of Whitesville Baptist Church, Ky. Bikers Association, Fraternal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Sons of The American Legion.

He is survived by Robin Cheek Bryant of Rockport, Ind.; one brother, David Cheek of Owensboro; and one granddaughter, Taylor Morgan Bryant of Rockport, Ind.

Frances B. Johnson
1942-2003

Frances B. Johnson, age 61, of Leitchfield died on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at her residence.

She was born on July 16, 1942. She was a member of Leitchfield Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary 81, Shrine Club and past President of AARP.

She is survived by her husband, James Nello Johnson; one daughter and son-in-law, June Johnson-Fulp and Kelly Fulp; two sisters, Marie Smigelski and Barbara Muller of Ohio. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Margaret Frances and Amanda Lynn Fulp; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Agnes Smigelski.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Schroerlucke officating.

Burial was in Memory Gardens.
