Ralph G. Wilson, age 70, of Morgantown, died on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at the Bowling Green Medical Center.
He was born on November 29, 1932 in Butler County as the son of Tollie and Buna Embry Wilson. He was a member of the Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon of thirteen years, a member of the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He owned the Was Center Laundromat in Morgantown, and also worked at the former Arnett's Clothing Store as manager of the shoe department.
He is survived by his wife, Ola M. Wilson of Morgantown; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Venita Wilson of Leitchfield; two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Johnson of Morgantown and Larry Johnson of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Regina Clark of Morgantown; one brother, Alton Wilson of Leitchfield; three sisters, Lois Hudson of Millwood, Juanita Bratcher of Caneyville, and Helen Chism of Radcliff. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Amanda Wilson of Leitchfield
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dietress (Bea) Mudd.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Fields and Rev. Gary Embry officiating.
Burial was in the Chapel Union Cemetery.
Johana Lee
1925-2003
Johana Lee, age 79, of Leitchfield died Saturday, August 9, 2003, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was born March 18, 1925, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Lonard and Minnie Akridge Deane.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Lee and one son, Douglas Lee.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill and Don Lee, both of Leitchfield; one brother William Thomas Deane of Louisville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12 at the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Sunday, August 10 and from noon until 9 p.m. Monday, August 11 at the home of Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors in Leitchfield.
Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
Amos Mudd
1930-2003
Amos Mudd, age 73, of Caneyville, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 in Caneyville.
He was born on January 5, 1930 as the son of Amos Sr. and Ettie Elder Mud.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mudd of Caneyville; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Darrell Wayne and Alesia Mudd and Marion Russell and Sherri Beth Mudd, all of Caneyville; two brothers, Dewitt Mudd of Caneyville and Russell Mudd of Central City; one sister, Wilma Dean Durbin of Indiana. Also surviving are three granddaughters and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at the Pleasant Union United Baptist Church with Rev. Lowell Davis and Rev. Cecil Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.
Walter "Jason" Smith
1970-2003
Walter "Jason" Smith, age 33, of Fordsville died on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
He was born on April 23, 1970 in Daviess County as the son of Sharon Smith and the late Warren Smith. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother; a sister, Anna Michelle Smith of West Chester, Pa.; two brothers and their wives, Warren Stacy and Karen Smith of Pellville, Adam Jarrod and Karrie Smith of Hawesville; a nephew, Marquis "Craig" Smith of Pellville; a niece, Kristen Marie Smith of Pellville; several aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattyville.
Burial was in Fordsville Cemetery.

Reverend Elmer R. Whobrey
1931-2003
Rev. Elmer R. Whobrey, age 72, of Leitchfield died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1931, in Grayson County as the son of Presley and Nettie Blair Whobrey. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and a United Baptist minister. He was a member of New Harmony United Baptist Chruch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; one brother, Delmer and two infant sisters. He is survived by his mother, Cora Whobrey of Leitchfield; one son, Ronnie Whobrey of Leitchfield; two daughters, Debra Strange and Denise King, both of Leitchfield; four brothers, Ernest and Danny, both of Leitchfield; Harold of Caneyville, Kentucky and William of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; seven sisters, Juanita Hockenbury of Louisville, Kentucky; Dorothy Hayes, Virginia Johnson, Martha Vincent, Mary Willis and Vickie Warf, all of Leitchfield and Ruth Goins of Florida. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Reverends Essie Hayes and Cecil Williams will be officiating.
Burial will be in the Sanders cemetery.

Irene Arelia Clark
1939-2003
Irene Arelia Clark, age 63, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on May 17, 1939 in Sadler, Kentucky as the daughter of Cyrus and Henrietta Hawkins-King.
She is survived by one daughter, Joann Sandlin of Leitchfield; five brothers, Asa King of Louisville, David and James Alvin King, both of Caneyville, and Leon and Cyrus King, both of Leitchfield. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amy Mattingly of Leitchfield, Amanda and Gavin Sandlin, both of Leitchfield; and one great-grandchild, Corbin Mattingly of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at the New Freedom Church in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors were in charge of funeral arrangements.
