Allen Wayne Harp, 53, of Falls of Rough, formally of Louisville, died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at his home.
He was born on July 17, 1950 in Louisville, the son of Stoy and Nathel Carroll Harp.
He was a member of the Teamster Union Local #89 and the Moose Lodge at Rough River.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stoy Harp.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Trimble Harp of Falls of Rough; two sons, Charles Harp of Louisville and Robert Trimble of South Dakota; his mother, Nathel Harp of Fairdale; two brothers, Kenneth Harp of Bardsstown and Donald Harp of Lebanon Junction; four sisters, Linda King of New Heaven, Ky., Marvina Newton of Shepherdsville, Donna Yunt and Doris Castleman, both of Louisville.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Charley Harp and Jordan Trimble, both of Louisville.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. CST at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Reverend Roger Allen will be officiating. Burial will be in the Union Light cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Eel Small
1914-2004
Eel Small, 89, of Leitchfield died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield.
He was born on September 12, 1914, in Caneyville, as the son of Matthew and Frona Woosley Small. He was a retired automobile mechanic for 38 years at the Willis Brothers Ford garage in Leitchfield. He was a member and Usher at the Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia and a sister, Joan Saunders.
He is survived by three daughters, Margaret Martin and Marilyn Evans, both of Elizabethtown and Patricia Sue Shumway of Naples, Fla.; two sons, Jerry of Louisville and Larry Small of Sidell, Lou. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Massengill, Chris Johnson, Keith Johnson, Connie Johnson Riley, Karla Johnson Jones, Wally Clay Johnson, Melissa Thomas, Eric Stogner, Darren Evans and Amy Bush; and 13 great grandchildren, Margaret, Ryan, Blakely, Patrick, Charles, Krystle, Katy, Kerri, Hannah, Zachary, Alexandra, Haley and Sydney.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at the Leitchfield First Baptist Church with Reverend George Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church in care of Missions.
Buddy Grant
1941-2004
Buddy Grant, age 62, of Clarkson died on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on April 28, 1941 in Grayson Springs as the son of Robert and Conulo Decker-Grant. He was a retired construction worker for Sullivan & Cozart and a member of the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Ellen Woods-Grant of Clarkson; three daughters, Donna Decker, Billie Sue Meredith, and Julie Lasley, all of Clarkson; one step-son, Richie Woods of Leitchfield; one brother, Jimmy Grant of Clarkson; eight sisters, Edna Gardner of Louisville, Jenny Wood, Francis Allen, Darlene Decker, Shirley Pennington, Alice Jaggers, Lavetta Powell and Rene Higdon, all of Leitchfield; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Horn.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 30, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Antioch Christian Cemetery in Peonia.
Beryl Hamilton
1919-2004
Beryl Hamilton, age 84, of Caneyville died on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born on October 13, 1919 in Moline, Illinois as the daughter of Nester and Ethel McCannon Anderson. She was a housewife and was a member of the Caneyville Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farrar Joel Hamilton.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Bell of Caneyville and Connie Deweese of Louisville; three sons, Jim and Ray Hamilton, both of Arizona and Ed Hamilton of Caneyville; two sisters, Martha Clarey of Indiana and Marion Crandel of Colorado. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 30, 2004 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. David Brown officiating.
Burial was in Moline, Illinois.
Nora Sandra "Bootsie" Avery
1948-2004
Nora Sandra "Bootsie" Avery, age 55, of Louisville died on Monday, January 26, 2004 at Norton Hospital.
She was the former Nora Watkins, a member of Mt. Hebron Missionary Church in Leitchfield, and a housekeeping supervisor for Sodexho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Avery; and her parents, Raymond Sr. and Mary Watkins; two brothers, Henry Sr. and Marion Watkins Sr.; and a sister, Sara L. Watkins.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Johnson and Melissa Burnett; a son, Van Avery; a brother, Raymond Watkins Jr.; and two grandchildren, Tyler Johnson and Kristen Avery.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Mt. Hebron Missionary Church in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Mt. Hebron Missionary Missionary Church Cemetery.
