Joe F. Brooks, age 78, of Morgantown died on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Beaver Dam Health Care Manor in Beaver Dam.
He was born July 31, 1925 as the son of George Miligan and Leora Embry Brooks. He was a farmer, a carpenter and a member of the Fairview Church of Christ.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Karen Brooks and Vivin and Marsha Brooks, all of Morgantown; two daughters and son-in-laws, Joann and Presto Gary of Caneyville, and Travie and Emmitt Bowman of Hawesville; two brothers, Dewey Brooks of Morgantown, and William Dave Bryant of Caneyville; and one sister, Stella Mode of Morgantown. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. Larry Lacefield officiating.
Burial was in the Chapel Union Cemetery.
James P. Whitely
1927-2004
James P. Whitely, age 76, of Falls of Rough died on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on March 6, 1927 in Louisville as the son of Floyd and Temple Duggins Whitely. He was a retired computer systems analyst, a World War II and Korean Veteran, a member of the Falls of Rough VFW, Leitchfield American Legion, Breckinridge County Moose Lodge and the Falls of Rough Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife, Dee Dees Whitely of Falls of Rough; three daughters, JoAnn Lucas of Vine Grove, Christine Whitely of Falls of Rough and Marion Anglin of Suffolk, Virginia. Also surviving are two grandsons, Alex and Joshua Anglin.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Falls of Rough Baptist Church, under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, with Rev. Roger Allen officiating.
Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Children's Home or the Falls of Rough Baptist Church.
J. D. Mudd
1925-2004
J. D. Mudd, age 78, of Louisville died on Sunday, January 18, 2004 at Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home in Louisville.
He is survived by five children, Debbie Dilts, Dan Mudd and Kevin Mudd, all of Louisville, Mike Mudd of Vine Grove, and David Mudd of New Hope, Ky.; four sisters, Mary Oller of Leitchfield, Judy Miller of Eastview, Rachel Lindsey of Leitchfield, and Ruby Embry of Palmyra, Ind.; and one brother, Ernest "Babe" Mudd of Caneyville. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
Burial was in the Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.
Ronnie T. Williams
1920-2004
Ronnie T. Williams, age 83, of Jefferson County, Ky., died on Sunday, January 18, 2004 in Jefferson County.
He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his nieces, Lorine Coffey, Joyce Coy and Ina Coats; and nephews, Steve Williams, Michael Williams and Cortland Hayes.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Hank Gibson officiating.
Burial was in the Johnnie Haycraft Cemetery.
Bobby Eugene Stone
1939-2004
Bobby Eugene Stone, age 64, of Falls of Rough died on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on July 11, 1939 in Leitchfield as the son of Virgil and Roxie Harris Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Birdie May Hayse Stone of Falls of Rough; three brothers, Irvin and Floyd Stone, both of Leitchfield; and Murrell J. Stone of Ill.; one sister, Betty Lou Miller of Leitchfield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
There was a graveside service on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Falls of Rough. Dermitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Karon Elaine Newton McCrady Willis
1953-2004
Karon Elaine Newton McCrady Willis, age 50, of Leitchfield died on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Bowling Green Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born on July 1, 1953 in Millwood as the daughter of Lonnie and Elzora Durbin Newton. She was a housewife.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Shawn "Grasshopper" Willis; one son, Erik McCrady, both of Leitchfield; two daughters, Carrie Basham and Wendy McCrady, both of Leitchfield, one brother, Leonard Newton of Caneyville; and one sister, Theresa Logsdon of Millwood. Also surviving are one granddaughter, McKenzie Lynn McCrady; one unborn grandson, Chandler Owen McCrady; and one step-granddaughter, Alyssa Higdon.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Newton.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Chester Shartzer officiating.
Burial was in the Vol Layman Cemetery.
