Alvina A. Raymer, 88 of Louisville, died Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Ky.
She was born on November 21, 1915 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Thomas Patrick and Sophia Christina Michael McGarrahan.
She was a housewife and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William and one grandchild.
She is survived by three sons, Ken and Donald Raymer, both of Caneyville and Leonard Raymer of Shepherdsville, Ky.; and one daughter Beverly Elam of Louisville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. (EST) at the Fern Creek Funeral Home at 5406 Bardstorn Road in Louisville. Burial will be in the Louisville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from noon until 8 p.m. Monday and at the Fern Creek Funeral Home from noon until 8 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Lester McKinley Webb
1921-2003
Lester McKinley Webb, 81 of Hustonville, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 26 at his residence.
He was born on December 30, 1921, in Letcher County, Ky., the son of Willie P. and Nellie A. Blakely Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Donnie Payton Webb of Hustonville, two daughters, Joyce and her husband, Bill of Cincinnati, OH., and Carolyn Webb of Calumet City, Il.; three grandchildren Robert Abbott Jr., and his wife, Christa, Mary Abbott and Sarah Schwender.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Brother Leonard Embry will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville after 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29.
Bennie Aubrey
1928-2003
Bennie Aubrey, 75 of Leitchfield, died on Sunday, Dec. 28.
He was born in January 18, 1928.
He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville and a member of the American Legion Post #81.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin F. and Anna Bell Jacobs Aubrey.
He is survived by two sons Willie Aubrey of West Kentucky and Forrest Aubrey; and by one sister Dorothy Ashley of Leitchfield. Several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit Monday, Dec. 29 after 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Eastview Cemetery.
James Harold Farmer
1925-2004
James Harold Farmer, 79, of Caneyville died on Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born January 22, 1925 in Louisville.
He is survived by his wife, Nova Higgs Farmer; one son, Jim Farmer; three daughters, Carol, Patty and Donna Farmer; one step-son, George Huff of Augusta, Ga.; and a sister-in-law, Bessie Boone.
There was no service, the body was cremated.
Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville was in charge of the arrangements.
Myrtle Agnes Kiper
1909-2003
Myrtle Agnes Kiper, age 94, of Campbellsville, Ky., formerly of Leitchfield, died on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville.
She was born on December 22, 1909 in Edmonson County as the daughter of Robert Lee and Ada VanMeter Goff. She and her husband, Floyd, was the owner and operator of the former Kiper's Grocery in Leitchfield, and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; two brothers, Hershel and Quenton; and three sisters, Texie Vincent, Blanche Ashley and Mildred Daugherty.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou and her husband, Rev. Landon Hadley of Campbellsville and Nancy Lee and her husband, Michael Hopkins of Mobile, Ala.; and one sister, Pauline Conklin of Louisville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Landon Hadley officiating.
Burial was in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
Oleta M. Clemons
1919-2004
Oleta M. Clemons, age 84, of Clarkson died on Sunday, February 8, 2004 in Leitchfield.
She was born on March 27, 1919. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtland Clemons; one son, Bernard Clemons; her parents, Clarence L. and Nora F. Sims Clemons; one brother, Ken Clemons; and three sisters, Margaret, Judy and Wanda Mae Clemons; and one grandson, Russell Clemons.
She is survived by two sons, James Norman and Charles W. Clemons; five sisters, Hazel Higdon and Teen Robinette, both of Clarkson, Audrey and Melvie Clemons, both of Leitchfield; and Mildred White of Louisville; three brothers, Carmel, Daris and Delma Clemons, all of Clarkson, and Paul Clemons of Philpot. Also surviving are five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery.
Rogers-Oller Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
