Edna Pauline Miller, age 78, of Leitchfield died on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Leitchfield Health Care Manor.
She was born on February 16, 1926 in Breckinridge County as the daughter of Clyde and Mary Carman Mercer.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ronnie McStoots of Sadler; one step-granddaughter, Stacie Shelton; and two step-great-granddaughters, Trisha and Miranda Shelton; and one sister, Rhue Roberts of Breckinridge.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 12, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Billy Laslie and Bro. Hurbert Clark officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
Gladys C. Decker
1927-2004
Gladys C. Decker, age 76, of Leitchfield died on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
She was born on December 23, 1927 in Grayson County, the daughter of Vester and Bessie Holmes Harris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Decker; two brothers, Holmes Eugene Harris and Raymond Shaffer; and two sisters Virginia Baynes and Dori Lucas.
She is survived by one brother Lester Harris and 23 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Eveleigh Independent Church in Leitchfield.
Burial will be in the Eveleigh Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the home of Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors.
Oval G. Woosley
1925-2004
Oval G. Woosley, age 78, of Freetown, Ind., formally of Caneyville died on Monday, January 12, 2004 at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Ind.
He was born on February 26, 1925 in Grayson County as the son of Vol and Loretta Embry Woosley. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from the State Highway Department.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Woosley of Merrillville, Ind.; five daughters, Shirley Smallwood of Freetown, Norma Jean Cunningham, Brenda Kay Renner, and Teresa Rene' Brown, all of Indianapolis, Ind., and Glenda Sue Goins of Nashville, Ind.; one son, Shelby Woosley of Jamestown, Ind.; and one brother, Hicks Woosley of Florida. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Glendon; and two sisters, Golyne Belle Woosley and Euma Lavelle Willis Wilson.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating.
Burial was in the Woodcock Cemetery.
Aubrey "Jim" Embry
1922-2004
Aubrey "Jim" Embry, age 81, of Welches Creek, Ky., died on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield.
He was born in Butler County. as the son of Garrard Banks Embry and Elizabeth Brooks Embry. He was a retired mechanic.
He is survived by one sister, Helen Embry Lee of Welches Creek, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Hesbie Embry and McClellan Embry.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 20, 2004 at Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown, Ky.
Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Welches Creek, Ky.
W. Ray Hack
1921-2004
W. Ray Hack, 82, of Leitchfield died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.
He was a retired self-employed truck driver, a veteran of World War II and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was born on September 27, 1921, in Grayson County, the son of William Leslie and Ella Wortham Hack.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Quiggins Hack; two nieces, Anna Mary Byrdwell and Nancy Haynes; four nephews, Frank, David and Sanford Hack and Warren Barton.
Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Reverend Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 1 p.m. Monday.
