Grover Bigelow Jr., age 67, of Louisvile, Ky., died on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Norton Hospital.
He was a native of Buechel, Ky. and a retired employee for General Electric Co. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and a former member of the Lafayette Golf Club.
Grover was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Betty Jean Bigelow.
He is survived by his four daughters and son-in-laws, Sherry (Wayne) Wilson, Kim (Jimmy) Floyd, Dianna (Tim) McCauley, Carolyn (Tim) Rogers; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Ann and Artie Hiemer; mother-in-law, Margaret A. Williams, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alvah Rae and Danny Hicks. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kelly Kilner, Kevin Wilson, John, Josh and Jamie Floyd, Carrie Ryan, Erin and Emily McCauley, and Cassidy, Caleb and Cameron Rogers; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Kelsey Kilner, Christian and Abbigail Floyd, Trey and Ty Ryan, Olivia Lile; nephews, Tony and Timmy Hiemer; and a beloved friend and companion, Bubba.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Resthaven Funeral Home with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Tommy Joe Shain
1927-2004
Tommy Joe Shain, age 76, of Leitchfield, died on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born April 1, 1927 in Grayson County as the son of Joe and Oma Carroll Shain. He was a World War II Veteran, served on the Leitchfield City Council for 12 years, was a distributor for Gulf Oil Company, and had operated a local restaurant. He was a member of the Lilac Road Churh of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Becky Shain; one son, Kenny Shain; one daughter, Karen Alvey and her husband Jim. Also surviving are granddaugher, Terri Haycraft and her husband Dennis; and two beloved great-grandchildren, Grant and Grace Haycraft, all of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Bill Cook officiating.
Burial was in the Leitchfield Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Bro. Austin Stasel
1923-2004
Bro. Austin Stasel, age 80, of Clarkson, died on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on December 3, 1923 in Hart County as the son of Johnny and Rena Smith Stasel. He was a retired butcher, farmer and an ordained Baptist minister and was a member of the Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Sullivan Stasel of Clarkson; two daughters, Bonita Stasel and Linda and her husbnad, W. D. Joyce of Clarkson; one son and his wife, Damon and Reva Stasel of Clarkson; two sisters, Pernie Stanton of Clarkson and Dorine Joyce of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Gilbert and Thomas Stasel, both of Munfordville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Ed Dermitt officiating.
Burial was in the Caswell Cemetery in Hart County.
Sonya Sue Tucker
1942-2004
Sonya Sue Tucker, age 61, of Custer, Ky., died on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at her residence.
She was born on November 6, 1942. She was a housewife, member of Church of God, the Human Society, and Pipe Creek Band. She was a performer and an avid lover of bluegrass, gospel and country music.
She is survived by her husband, Roy C. Tucker of Custer; her mother, Mary Judith Graham of Vine Grove, Ky.; two daughters, Felicia Gossett of Brandenbrug and Schnovia McCoy of Vine Grove; one son, Carroll Lamonte Tucker of South Riding, Va.; three brothers, Lamuel Devoin Graham and Lynos Duane Graham, both of Flaherty, Ky., and Eurone Davis Graham of Brahrain - Middle East; one sister, Sharon Ozell Hiemstra of Radcliff, Ky. Also surviving is one sister, Sharon Ozell Hiemstra of Radcliff.
She was preceded in death by her father, Silas Lee Graham; and one brother, Darrell Lee Graham.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 5, 2004 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Capps officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

Essia Embry
Essia Embry, age 88 of Louisville died on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born in Grayson County on March 18, 1915 as the son of Norman and Ellen Brooks Embry. He was a retired foreman with Tobacco World.
He is survived by his wife, Reva Phelps Embry of Louisville; two sons, Bobby of Hodgenville, Ky., and Odis Embry of Louisville; five daughters, Mayron Hayes, Judy Stone, Margie Bilewicz, Janice Comley, and Lisa Thielmeier, all of Louisville. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dallas and Donnie Embry.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 1 p.m. CST, at the Woodcock Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Cummings and Rev. Leonard Embry officiating.
Burial was in the Woodcock Cemetery.
Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville was in charge of the arrangements.
Chattie Green VanMeter
1910-2004
Chattie Green VanMeter, age 93, of Leitchfield died on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born on June 29, 1910 in Edmonson County as the daughter of William A. and Mary Ashley Green. She was a housewife and was a member of the Jock United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner; and her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Svos of Okeechobee, Fla. and Lois Borie of Longmont, Col.; six sons, Peck, Joe and Randall VanMeter, all of Leitchfield, Wavey VanMeter of Summersville, SC, and Red John and Ben VanMeter, both of Louisville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Ed Dermitt officiating.
Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
