Beryl Franklin, age 85, of Clarkson, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield.
He was born June 29, 1918, in Grayson County, as the son of Robert Daniel and Nova Bell Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Fulkerson-Franklin; one brother, John Franklin, and one sister, Buela Hatfield.
He is survived by three sons, Edward and Rowan Franklin, both of Clarkson, and Marcus Franklin of Big Clifty; and one daughter, Lillian Bratcher of Clarkson. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Little Clifty Methodist Church Cemetery in Clarkson.
Daymon H. Clemons
Daymon H. Clemons, age 83, of Leitchfield, died on Monday, March 15, 2004 at the Leitchfield Health Care Manor.
He was born on October 4, 1920 in Grayson County as the son of Andrew and Pernie Johnston Clemons. He was a retired farmer, and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Louise Clemons of Leitchfield; seven daughters, Beverly Marie Howard of Whitesville, Ky., Bonnie Garcia of Cancun, Mexico, Ann Smith of Louisville, Theresa Romack of Dallas, Texas, Patty Newton of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Vonda Pousson of Chesapeake, Va., and Mary Jo Bird of Louisville; four sons, Donald Ray Clemons of Augusta, Ga., Phillip Clemons of Caneyville, Thomas and Jerry Clemons, both of Leitchfield; two sisters, Ina Pierce of Leitchfield and Edwina Stinson of Cub Run, Ky.; two brothers, James of Louisville and Edward Clemons of Leitchfield. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Howard officiating. Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield was in charge of the arrangements.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Glendell Earl Barrett
Glendell Earl Barrett, age 81, of Leitchfield, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on August 23, 1922, in Muhlenburg Co., Ky., as the son of John Henry and Odie Gertrude Smith Barrett. He was a retired furnace worker from Coharts in Louisville, and was a member of the Hanging Rock Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Gibson Barrett; one daughter, Glenda Susan Keys of Louisville; two sons, Glenn and Michael Barrett, both of Louisville; five step-daughters, Shirlen Gibson, Donna Smith, Mary Ann Cannon, Janetta Carroll, all of Leitchfield, and Rebecca Smith of Breckinridge Co., Ky.; seven step-sons, Charles and Doug Gibson, both of Clarkson; Larry, William, and Vance Gibson, all of Leitchfield, Dale, of St. Paul, and Jimmy Gibson of Caneyville. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Earl Barrett; one brother, Clifton Barrett; and two sisters, Milrine and Juanita Barrett.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating.
Burial was in the Claggett Cemetery.
Eugene Cummings Sr.
Eugene Cummings Sr., AKA Little Possum, age 57, of Gibson City, Ill. died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.
He was born May 1, 1946 in Leitchfield as the son of Vincent and Iva Mae Shane Cummings. He owned and operated Gene's Paint Service, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Gibson City. His passions were fishing, attending auctions and flea markets.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia J. Hinkle; three sons, Eugene Jr., Lee, and Matt; three daughters, Joyce, April, and Tami; three step-sons, Rick, Daryl, and Tommy; three step-daughters, Sandy, Denise, and Monica; one brother, Robert; and two sisters, Mary and Annie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with Rev. Terry Bonds officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois.

Marie Avery
Marie Avery, age 84, of Grayson Manor, died on Sunday, March 14, 2004 in Leitchfield.
She was born February 11, 1920. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Ova Awbrey Avery.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 with Bro. Delmar Williams officiating.
Burial was in Little Flock Cemetery.
Ethan Beau Croghan
Ethan Beau Croghan, infant son of Pat and Christy Cole Croghan of Falls of Rough, Ky., died Friday, January 23, 2004 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.
He is survived by his parents; and two brothers, Zachary and Corey Croghan. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Teresa and Tillman Cardwell of Leitchfield, and Kenneth Cole of Morgantown, Ky.; his paternal grandparents, Carlos Croghan and Carol Croghan, both of Leitchfield; his maternal great-grandparents, Bob and Pam Cole of East View, Ky., Myrtle Swink of Union Star, Ky., and Patricia Boone of Dover, Delaware; his paternal great-grandparents, Ethel Croghan and Ulva McStoots, both of Leitchfield; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Gary Embry officiating.
Burial was in the Claggett Cemetery.
