Floella McNamara, age 85, of Big Clifty, Ky., died on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in Elizabethtown, Ky.
She was born on June 21, 1919 as the daughter of George F. and Maudie Owens. She was retired from AT&T.;
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles McNamara.
She is survived by one son, Jack Williams of Big Clifty, Ky., and one daughter, Duanna Conkey of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hardin County, Ky.
Calvin Lewis Mattingly
Calvin Lewis Mattingly, age 72, of Leitchfield, died on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born February 9, 1932. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by one brother, William Mattingly; and one sister, Eula Lucas of Leitchfield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Roberta Conder Mattingly; and one sister, Linda Dennis.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 23, 2004 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Shartzer officiating.
Burial was in the Hazelwood Cemetery.
James Hillman Haycraft
James Hillman Haycraft, age 82, of Leitchfield, Ky., died on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born December 28, 1921 in Grayson County as the son of Jack and Flara Meredith Haycraft. He was a member and Deacon of the Broadford Baptist Church and a member of the Wilhelm Masonic Lodge and also United States Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Haycraft.
He is survived by one daughter, Judith Carolyn Logsdon of Clarkson; one son, Bruce Haycraft of Leitchfield; one sister, Roberta Van Meter of Clarkson; and four brothers, Emory and Delmar Haycraft, both of Clarkson, Elvis and Marshall Haycraft, both of Louisville. Also surviving are four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Ab Stanton officiating.
Burial was in the Stanton Cemetery.
Glendon Phelps
Glendon Phelps, age 65, of Grayson County, died on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at his residence after a 10-year illness.
He was born February 18, 1939. He was the son of the late Reverend Lawrence Phelps and Velma Tomes Phelps Cummings of Caneyville.
He was a Doctor of Mechanics, a teacher at Brandis in Louisville, Ky., a master heavy equipment mechanic with C. J. Rust Construction Co., and a member of the Rabbit Flat General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce H. Phelps; two sons, Glendon Russell and Timothy Lawrence; and one daughter, Karen Leigh. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Adam, Alisha, Jennifer, Jill, Jim, Cole, Tyler, Madison; and four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Taylor, Kaleigh, and preceded in death by Shelbi.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. M. D. Raymer officiating.
Burial was in the Woodcock Cemetery.
James Edward Gibson (Poppie)
James Edward Gibson (Poppie), age 77, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2004.
He retired from General Electric Co. after 37 years of service. He was a resident of Louisville until 1997 when he found his paradise at Rough River Lake, where he pursued his love of fishing, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Charlsie L. Johnson; his children, Chad (Peggy) Gibson, Delcina Todd, Sheri (Tommy) Genardi; eight sisters and numerous sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Park.

Elmer Yates
Elmer Yates, age 85, of Louisville, Ky., died on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at his residence.
He was a retired truck driver for Tube Turns, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Clagett Baptist Church in Grayson County.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ada Mildred Harris Yates; two daughters, Brenda Yates and Debbie Lee (Dennis); son, David Yates (Charlene Ross); daughter-in-law, Ann Yates; two sisters, Ethel Smith of Louisville and Ruby Dermitt of Leitchfield. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray and Michael Glen Yates.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Owen Funeral Home.
Burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
