Cora McCarty, age 84, died Monday, August 23, 2004 at Britthaven of Benton, Ky.
She was born January 2, 1920 in Sawyersville, Ky., the daughter of Elvin and Nellie Dykes Risner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie McCarty; one brother, Lee Risner; one sister, Zelda Havens; and one grandson, Douglas McCarty Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Juanita Sells of Benton, Ky.; three sons, Billy McCarty of Big Clifty, Ky., Paul McCarty of Sugar Grove, Tenn., and Douglas McCarty of Yellow Springs, Ohio; one sister, Marie Risner of Lexington, Ky.; three brothers, Paul Risner of White Mills, Ed and Earl Risner, both of Big Clifty. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Clarkson Cemetery.
Shirley Brooks
Shirley Brooks, age 57, of Leitchfield, died Monday, August 9, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
The Grayson County native was a homemaker and a member of McGrew General Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Harold Ray Duvall and Hallie VanMeter Duvall.
She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Brooks; two sons, Michael Dwayne Brooks of Leitchfield and Stephen Ray Brooks of Clarkson, Ky.; three sisters, Phyllis Teague of Louisville, Ky., Mary Ruth Hitt of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Joanna Goodman of Bee Spring, Ky. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Jack Meredith Cemetery.
Jimmy E. Wood
Jimmy E. Wood, age 59, of Olaton, Ky., died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on December 9, 1944 in Elizabethtown, Ky., as the son of George and Peggy Williams Wood. He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and was a member of the McGrady Creek Missionary Baptist Church and Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Floyd Wood; one son, Joseph A. Wood of Martinez, Ga.; two daughters, Regina Robinson of Grovetown, Ga. and Kimberly Hope of Leitchfield; one brother, David Wood of Mt. Washington, Ky.; three sisters, Shelby Paladori of North Carolina, Mary Lou Harris of Louisville, Ky., and Samantha Wright of Brooks, Ky. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Travis and Brenton Wood, Darryl and Alicia Wallace and Chelsey Robinson; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Carpenter.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Dick Campbell officiating.
Burial with full military honors was in the McGrady Creek Cemetery.
Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield was in charge of the arrangements.
Wendell D. Vincent
Wendell D. Vincent, age 51, of Louisville, Ky. (formerly of Clarkson), died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born October 10, 1952 in Grayson County, Ky., as the son of Willie and Elva Ree Stewart Vincent.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Dana Huebner (Jason) of Rio, Wisconsin; his mother, Elva Ree Stewart Vincent of Leitchfield; four sisters, Corenia Sizemore (Bill), Chris Woodcock (Vick), V. Joyce Vincent (Charlie Robinson), all of Louisville, and Sherry Williams (Joe) of Horse Branch; three brothers, William Floyd Vincent (Laverna) of Falls of Rough, Herman Vincent (Penny) of Brandenburg, and Everett Roger Vincent (Barbara) of Louisville; four grandchildren, Kody, Hannah, Austyn, and Baily, all of Rio, Wisconsin. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; along with two special friends, Seth and Trestia Lee.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Alva Ray Vincent and Edwin Ross Vincent.
Funeral services were held, Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at the Watson and Hunt Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was held in the Clarkson Cemetery in Clarkson.

Sharon Kay Robbins Henning
Sharon Kay Robbins Henning, age 50, of Harned, Ky., died on Friday, July 16, 2004 at her residence.
She was born December 24, 1953 in Illinois as the daughter of John Robbins. She was a homemaker, attended Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Bethel Fellowship Church. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, nature walks and animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Daniel Henning; and one grandson, Joseph Daniel Henning.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Robbins of Harned; son and daughter-in-law, Lee Michael and Wilma Henning of Leitchfield; two sisters, Shirley Bland of Harned and Sue Baldwin of McQuady, Ky.; five brothers, Bill Raine of Fredericksburg, Ind., Roger Robbins of Harned, Ray Robbins and David Robbins of Hardinsburg, Ky., and Stevie Robbins of Ft. Walton, Fla. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Brittany and Alexis Henning, and Jeffrey Wilson.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 19, 2004 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Raine officiating.
Burial was in the Hensley Cemetery.
Randall Craine
Randall Craine, age 64, of Caneyville, Ky., died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born October 23, 1939 in Grayson County as the son of Frank and Bertha Embry Craine. He was a Television repairman and was a member of the Free Union General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Kay Craine of Caneyville; two sons, Michael and his wife, Renee Craine of Leitchfield and Tracy Lee Crain of Caneyville; his mother, Bertha Crain of Caneyville; three brothers, F. C. of Leitchfield, Frank Jr. and Tony Crain, both of Caneyville; two sisters, Grace Miller and Myrl Woosley, both of Leitchfield; and one granddaughter, Abigail Craine.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. David King officiating.
Burial was in the Wilson Home Cemetery.
