Cecil Marie Elmore, age 86, of Leitchfield, died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born October 14, 1917 in Edmonson County, Ky., as the daughter of Alexander Higgs and Minnie Lee Wilson. She was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Elmore.
She is survived by two sons, Dwight Lee and Tommy Dale Elmore, both of Leitchfield. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Mulberry Flats Baptist Church with Bro. John Duggins and Bro. Shannon Elmore.
Burial was in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.
John Duarte Alemao
John Duarte Alemao, age 45, of Vine Grove, Ky., died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Ireland Army Hospital in Ft. Knox, Ky.
He was born September 14, 1958 in Azores as the son of Joaon and Carmina Brum Alemao. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army, a Gulf War veteran, a member of the American Legion, and was employed through the civil service at the Motor Pool at Ft. Knox.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Lindsey Alemao; one sister, Filomena Evans of California; three brothers, Gilbert of Cal., Joseph of Iowa, and Frank Alemao of Washington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 6, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Edward Dermitt officiating.
Burial will be in the Claggett Cemetery.
Naomi C. Lawler
Naomi C. Lawler, formerly of Leitchfield, died August 23, 2004 at the home of her daughter, in Boulder, Colorado.
She was born in Grayson County on June 22, 1917, as the daughter of James and Myrtle Campbell of Millwood, Ky.
Her husband, Oran P. Lawler preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Reta Lawler of Boulder, Colorado; her son, Howard and daughter-in-law, Reyna of Iquitos, Peru; her sister, Geneva Lamping and nephew, Don Leiberum of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tony, Luis, Howardcito and Selvita; and great-granddaughter, Analuisa. She is also survived by husband, Judson Pryor of Louisville, Ky.
A memorial service will be held at the Leitchfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church under the direction of Rev. Mike and Margaret Duke of Dixon, Tennessee on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 1:00 p.m.
Her ashes will be buried in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Wilford "Rooster" Dockery
Wilford "Rooster" Dockery, age 86, of Leitchfield, died Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the Leitchfield Health Care Manor in Leitchfield.
He was born May 26, 1918 in Grayson County, Ky, the son of James and Bessie Barton Dockery. He was retired from Hobart's of Louisville, Ky., and was a member of Caneyville Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Steff Dockery.
He is survived by a step-son Louis Parrott of Louisville; one sister, Margie Massie of Louisville. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Leonard Embry officiating.
Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Jackie Miller
Jackie Miller, age 66, of Leitchfield, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 in Leitchfield.
He was born May 30, 1937. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Miller of Leitchfield; one daughter, Vicki Elliott of Hudson, Ky., his mother, Marie Miller of Leitchfield; three sisters, Delois Miller and Joyce Dennis, both of Leitchfield, and Pauline Allen of Locust Hill, Ky.; and two brothers, Louis Miller and Tim Miller, both of Leitchfield. Also surviving are grandchildren, Bethany, Brian and Breanna Miller, all of Leitchfield, and Lesli Elliott of Hudson, Ky. Several nieces and nephews are also surviving.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Miller; his father, James W. Miller; and one brother, Calvin Miller.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 7, 2004 at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Laslie officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
Lena Francis "Teenie" Pence
Lena Francis "Teenie" Pence, age 82, of Big Clifty, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Helmwood Health Care.
She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Old Summit Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Pence; her parents, Leslie and Rosa Hart White; two sisters, Ruby Wheeler and Nellie White; and three brothers, Edward, Charles and Randall White.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Pence of Summit; two daughters, Lynda Armstrong of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Angela Graham of Bahrain; three sisters, Stella Currie of Connersville, Ind., Jeanette Darnell of Louisville, and Virginia Maston of Lebanon, Tenn. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Claypool officiating.
Burial was in the Summit Methodist Church Cemetery.
