Donald W. Decker, age 66, of Caneyville, died on Monday, May 17, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born April 15, 1938 in Grayson County as the son of Shirl and Loretta Higdon Decker.
He is survived by four sisters, Carolyn A. Hawke, Susie L. Decker, and Ruby N. Decker, all of Leitchfield, and Edna Bratcher of Clarkson, Ky.; three brothers, James R. Decker, R. Mitchell Decker, and Russell W. Decker, all of Leitchfield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
Elbert Duvall
Elbert Duvall, age 82, of Louisville, Ky., died on Friday, April 16, 2004 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was born November 20, 1921 to Gabe and Mary Ellen Cureton Duvall in Grayson County.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Skees.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Duvall of Leitchfield; one daughter, Janice Lawrence of Louisville; one brother, James William Duvall of Louisville; one sister, and Lucill Ray of Brownsville. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two step grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel with Bro. Doug Cardin officiating.
Burial was in the Shrewsbury Cemetery in Shrewsbury, Ky.
Katelyn Elaine Casey
Katelyn Elaine Casey, age 10 months, of Leitchfield, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born July 6, 2003 in Leitchfield.
She is survived by her parents, Brian and Amy Casey of Leitchfield; and one brother, Chase Casey of Leitchfield. Also surviving are grandparents, Sammy and Marie Glass of Sweeden, Ky., and Roger and Julie Casey of Clarkson, Ky.; great-grandparents, Garnetta Glass of Sweeden, Henry and Alma Murray of Bowling Green, Ky., Mabel Johnson of Sweeden, and Agnes Casey of Clarkson. Several aunts, uncles and cousins are also surviving.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Sweeden Church Cemetery with Bro. Malcolm Doyle officiating.
Burial was in the Sweeden Cemetery.
Tonya Y. Starks
Tonya Y. Starks, age 36, of Brownsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the University Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born March 11, 1968 in Bowling Green, Ky., as the daughter of Kerry Browning and Beulah Decker Hayes. She was an employee of Ambrake, and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hardin County, Ky., the New Hope Womens Church Group and the March of Dimes of Hardin County.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Kent Hope of Brownsville; her mother and step-father, Beulah and Mark Hayes of Leitchfield; her father, Kerry Browning of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William Glenn and Gina Browning and Kish and Julie Browning, all of Brownsville; her paternal grandmother, Margie Browning of Brownsville; and a nephew, Tyler Browning of Brownsville.
She was preceded in death by two infant children, Austin Ryan Hope and Linda Jane Starks.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 23, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Howard Decker officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Union (Wilson) Cemetery.
James Felix Skaggs
James Felix Skaggs, age 53, of Big Clifty, Ky., died on Saturday, May 15, 2004 in Leitchfield.
He was born April 19, 1951.
He is survived by his parents, James Hancil and Hazel Ruth Logsdon Skaggs of Big Clifty; three sons, James Ray Skaggs of Louisville, Ky., Dale Skaggs of Radcliff, Ky., and Michael Skaggs of Palmetta, Ga.; one daughter, Tabitha Skaggs of Palmetta, Ga.; three sisters, Judith Faye Skaggs Sciarra and Brenda Kay Skaggs Risinger, both of Louisville, and Lavina Sue Skaggs West of Big Clifty. Also surviving is one grandson, Tucker Skaggs; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa A. Skaggs; his fraternal grandparents, Sam and Addie Hatfield Skaggs and maternal grandparents, Felix and Allie Meredith Logsdon.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Brooks officiating.
Burial was in the Little Flock Cemetery.

Lillie Irene Coulter
Lillie Irene Coulter, age 86, of Caneyville, Ky., died on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the Leitchfield Health Care Center.
She was born in Grayson County April 3, 1918, the daughter of Creed and Bessie White Shaw. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Coulter.
She is survived by her step-mother, Dorothy Shaw of Caneyville; two half sisters, Regina Stone of Caneyville and Magdaline Foster of Shepherdsville, Ky.; one half brother, Emmitt Shaw of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home Caneyville Chapel with Bro. Jim McIntosh and Bro. Joseph Henderson officiating.
Burial was in the Deweese Cemetery.
