Laura Moorman-Mollyhorn, age 45, of Leitchfield, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at her residence.
She was born December 4, 1958 in Louisville, Ky. as the daughter of Richard and Jean Gray-Moorman. She was a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Garret Gibson of Leitchfield; two sisters, Elizabeth Moorman and Carolyn Fulkerson, both of Leitchfield; and her mother Jean Elizabeth Moorman of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Expression of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Kentuckiana and the Leitchfield Animal Shelter.
Rev. Roy Lashley
Rev. Roy Lashley, age 76, of Clarkson, died Thursday, April 1, 2004. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, retired from Kelley Bee Factory, a farmer and an Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Decker Lashley of Clarkson; his son, Jimmie Lashley of Clarkson; two daughters, Beverly Twyford of Louisville and Regina Skaggs of Leitchfield; two sisters, Imogene Whitman and Hazel Lashley, both of Leitchfield; and two brothers, Charles Lasley of Shepherdsville, Ky. and Damon Lasley of Leitchfield. Also surviving are five granddaughters, Alicia Butler, Ariel Lashley, Rebekah Skaggs, and Heather Grant; five grandsons, Adam Butler, Michael South, Tristen Lashley, Mickey Twyford and Zachary Skaggs; and one great-grandchild, Bicana Grant.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, one brother, and his parents.
Masonic services were held on Saturday, April 3, 2004.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Rev. Wilford Logsdon officiating.
Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.
Roscoe Saltsman
Roscoe Saltsman, age 61, of Leitchfield, died on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1942 to Rig and Fellie Newton Saltsman in Grayson County. He was a farmer and a member of the Longbranch Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Newton Saltsman of Leitchfield; two daughters, Rita King (husband Dale) and Patricia Saltsman (husband Roy); one son, Anthony Saltsman (wife Bobbi Jo); two sisters, Mageline Oller of Leitchfield and Mollie Simpson of Louisville; and one brother, Robert Saltsman of Leitchfield. Also surviving are six grandchildren and a special niece, Dossie Golden.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Longbranch Holiness Church in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Saltsman Cemetery in Leitchfield with Bro. Vester Decker and Bro. Arnold Ray Saltsman officiating.
Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements.
Larry Malachi Portman
Larry Malachi Portman, infant son of Dusty Renae Prater and L. J. Portman of Big Clifty, died on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He is survived by his parents; and one sister, Alesia Portman; two brothers, Josiah and Isaac Prater; his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Cindy Roberts of Dixon, Tenn.; paternal grandparents, Larry and Kathleen Portman of Big Clifty, Carol and Joe Milliner of Leitchfield, and Donald Dennis of Leitchfield. Also surviving two great-grandmothers, Margie Hazelwood and Shirley Clark.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 5, 2004 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Eleanor "Lena" Decker
Eleanor "Lena" Decker, age 63, of Leitchfield, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
She was born May 5, 1940 as the daughter of David B. and Mary Aliza Logsdon Terry in Hardin County, Ky. She was a housewife and a member of the Summit Christian Center. She was a strong giver to charitable organizations and her main goal was making sure familes were taken care of.
She is survived by her husband, James Decker of Leitchfield; two daughters, LaWanna Scott of Caneyville and Pamela Marie Aird of Louisville; two sons, J.J. Decker of Clarkson and Doug Decker of Arizona; four sisters, Kozetta Grimes of Nolin, Ky., Audrey Loomis of Sonora, Ky., Nettie Langley of Stevensburg, Ky., and Ruby Basham of Leitchfield; two brothers, Gary David Terry of Summit and Donald Ray Terry of Leitchfield. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Lee Decker.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 5, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel with Bro. Harold and Sister Wanda Stamper officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery.
Mike Marshall
Mike Marshall, age 52, of Leitchfield, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 in Clarkson.
He was the co-owner and Pharmacist for Clarkson Drug Store, member of the Kentucky Consultant Pharmacists Association, and Kentucky Pharmacultical Association, Alumnist of St. Louis School of Pharmacy, and a member of Knights of Columbus (4th degree).
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Marshall of Leitchfield; son, M. Kristopher Marshall, M.D. of Louisville, Ky.; and son and daughter-in-law, Kevin T. and Mandy Marshall of Leitchfield; his mother, Ann Marshall of Leitchfield; two sisters, Debbie Ashercrafte of Louisville and Mary Martha Horine of Cinncinnati, Ohio; two brothers, James W. Marshall and John S. Marshall, both of Leitchfield. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Madison Leigh Marshall and Mya Layne Marshall, both of Leitchfield.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Howard officiating.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Rogers-Oller Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
