James H. Stewart, age 74, of Louisville, Ky., died Friday, October 15, 2004 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He was a retired welder for Kentucky Machine & Tool Company, and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Caneyville, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lura Janice Taylor; daughter, Sandy Thomas; sister, Alta Saylor; four grandchildren, Kevin, Michael, Chris and Jeremy Willis; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Stewart.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 2004 at Arch L. Heady & Son in Louisville.
Burial was in the Layman Cemetery in Grayson County.
William Ragland III
William Ragland III, age 31, of Leitchfield, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at his residence.
He was born March 6, 1973 in Elizabethtown, Ky. He was a farmer at Ragland Farms and a member of the Bethel Fellowship.
He is survived by his parents, William Jr. and Lynda Rice-Ragland, both of Leitchfield; one sister, Tracy Ragland Smith of LaGrange, Ky.; two uncles, Larry and Stanley Rice, both of Breckinridge County, Ky.; three aunts, Nettie Wimmer of Hawesville, Ky., Jeanetta Jackson of Fla., and Millicent Ragland Gibson of Leitchfield, and several cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.
Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Edna Saloman Buren
Edna Saloman Buren, age 99, of Leitchfield, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at her residence.
She was born November 17, 1905 in Edmonson County as the daughter of Fred and Maryette Brooks-Rich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Buren; three sisters, Ella Mae Vernon, Eva Francis Dudgeon, and Emmalione Buren; four brothers, Smith Rich, Sherman Rich, Lorenso Rich, and Quinton Rich; and one great-grandchild, Bryan Stephen Ramsey.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Cody Wortham of Leitchfield, and Mary Edna Duffy of Valley Station, Ky.; one son, Charles Buren of Hudson, Ky.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Sonny Embry and Bro. Murel Meredith officiating.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Robert Wesley Daughtery
Robert Wesley Daughtery, age 70, of Hudson, Ky., died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1934 in Hardin County, Ky., as the son of the late Jack Daughtery and Juanita Milburn.
He was a self-employed Electrician and Plumber.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Steve Daughtery, of Oak Ridge, Tn.; four daughters, Pam Tucker, and Bobbie Sosh, of Hudson, Melissa Chewning, of Summerville, SC., and Cathy Geary, of Grayson Co.; three brothers, Jackie Daughtery, of Cecilia, Johnny Douthitt, of Hardinsburg, and Ronnie Douthitt, of Constantine; four sisters, Shirley Hawkins, of Cecilia, Vivian Poole, of Cloverport, Joyce Horsley, of Hudson, and Betty Douthitt , of Constantine. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 17, 2004 at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Elliott officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hardin County.
Elmer Lloyd Edwards
Elmer Lloyd Edwards, age 54, of Horse Branch, Ky., died Sunday, December 19, 2004 at his residence.
He was born May 17, 1950 in Grayson County as the son of Marvin and Verbal Renfrow Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Cooper Edwards of Horse Branch; one son, Lloyd Oneill Edwards of Leitchfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonia Edwards and Ricky Wrenn of Horse Branch; two brothers, Elliot Edwards of Olaton, Ky. and Jerry Edwards of Caneyville, Ky.; seven sisters, Ella Brown of Fla., Maxine Frank, Joan Smith, Joyce Madison, and Jean Hall, all of Caneyville, Vivian Pannbacker of Bee Springs, Ky., and Sharion Burden of Leitchfield. Also surviving are granddaughter Ashley Faith; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany and Tosha; one step-great-grandchild, Drake; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. Glendon Geary officiating.
Interment was in the Oller Cemetery.
Phyllis Mae Teague
Phyllis Mae Teague, age 60, of Louisville, Ky., died Tuesday, December 14, 2004.
She was a housekeeper for Candlewood Suites and a member of Jock Baptist Church in Edmonson County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Hallie Duvall, and one sister, Shirley Brooks.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Teague, of Louisville, one daughter, Verita Cooley, of Leitchfield; two sons, William Puckett, of Leitchfield, and Curtiss Teague, of Flarety; two sisters, JoAnna Goodman, of Bee Springs, and Mary Scott Hitt, of North Carolina. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 17, 2004 at McGrew General Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Jock Cemetery.
