Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 20, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Lake State Park for Daniel Keith Nealy, 56, of Paintsville, who passed away Thursday, May 11.
Mr. Nealy was born Feb. 2, 1961 in Fort Gay, W.Va., son of the late John and Alma Dawden Nealy. He was a laborer with Paintsville Rent-A-Tool. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Karen Nealy Spears.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Gillespie Nealy; one son, Benjamin (Jessica) Nealy of Canton, Ohio; one daughter, Amy Nealy Scott of Springfield, Ohio; one sister, Penny Nealy Nessel of California; six grandchildren; maternal grandmother, Martha Dawden; and many special cousins.
The service will be officiated by Larry Blair.

Douglas G. Melvin
1931-2017
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 11 a.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church on Third Street, Paintsville, for Douglas G. Melvin, 86, Paintsville, who passed away Wednesday, June 28 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Melvin was born Jan. 1, 1931 in Johnson County, son of the late Willie and Agnes Fairchild Melvin. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Paul Melvin.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kate Williams Melvin of Paintsville; three daughters, Gina (Jeff) McFaddin of Paintsville, Cynthia (Jim) Brown of Paintsville, and Jessica (William) Yates of Staffordsville; four grandchildren, Jim Matt Brown, Casey (Brittany Brown, Angela (Shawn) Hall, and Jason (Donna) Fairchild; and five great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kiana, Kiley, Leah and Braxton.
The service will be officiated by Jerry Scott and Larry Blair, with burial to follow in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Jeffrey Curtis Sturgill
1958-2017
Jeffrey Curtis Sturgill, 59, of Thealka passed away June 24, 2017.
He is preceded in death by father, James Sturgill and mother, Peggy Borders Sturgill; his wife, Debbie Baker Sturgill; and one granddaughter, Isabella Sturgill.
He is survived by one son Jeffery Curtis Sturgill (Ashley Vanhoose) of Wittensville, Ky.; three brothers, Steve (Debbie) Sturgill of West Van Lear, Ky., Randy (Janie) Sturgill of Rush, Ky., Greg (Camille) Sturgill of Wittensville, Ky., and one special sister, Misty Powers of East Point, Ky.
Jeffery Curtis Sturgill was a faithful member of Boonscamp Church of God and also the equipment operator.
Funeral service were held June 27 at 11 a.m. at Boonscamp Church of God with burial at the Fraley cemetery in Thealka, Ky.

Thomas Edward Hayslett

Thomas Edward Hayslett, 56, formerly of Johnson County, passed away on Tuesday June 13 in Huntington, W. Va.. He was a 1979 graduate of Johnson Central. Tommy was born Dec. 25, 1961 in Springfield, Ohio, and is preceded by his parents: Paul Hayslett, Grace and Mason Farmer, as well as sister Suzy Harter.
Survivors include one son, Kyle Rice, and one granddaughter of Paintsville; sisters, Pam Bartee of Springfield, Ohio, Gladys Williams of Salvisa, Ky. and Paula Hayslett of Toledo, Ohio.
He leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
