Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Jean Castle Hayes, 80, of Lowmansville, who passed away Sunday, March 12 at her residence.
Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Samuel Gail ‘Jake’ Burke
1928-2017
Samuel Gail “Jake” Burke, age 88, of Middle Fork, Hager Hill, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Samuel was born on December 7, 1928 in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Con Burke and Nora Salyers Burke. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Lorraine Parson, Irene Hunt, and Mary Lou Cook.
Samuel and grew up in Paintsville, Kentucky, where he graduated from Paintsville High School. He joined the United States Army in 1952 and served at Fort Knox for two years, moving on to achieve an Associate’s degree in drafting and taught at Mayo Vocational and Technical School for 39 years.
On January 1, 1955, Samuel married Darlene Patrick Burke and the two shared 62 years of marriage together and had four children; two sons, Jefferson Con Burke and wife Barb of East Point, Kentucky, Michael Keith Burke and wife Judy of West Van Lear, Kentucky, Freda Gale Spencer and husband Clifford of East Point, Kentucky and Teresa Faye Zervos and husband Peter of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of step-grand and -great grandchildren.
Samuel was an active member in the community and a deacon at the Collista Free Will Baptist Church and valued many friendships from his time spent at the Senior Citizen Center and the church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Collista Free Will Baptist Church with Toby Johnson and Kenny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday, March 3, 2017 from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to My Lord Has The Answer Program by contacting Jones-Preston Funeral Home at 606-789-3501.

Tilda ‘Tid’ Chandler
1931-2017
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Tilda “Tid” Chandler, 85, of Hagerhill, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Mrs. Chandler was born July 24, 1931 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Fred and Jemima Burchett Stambaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Chandler; three brothers, R. C. Stambaugh, Lucia Stambaugh, Rexford Stambaugh; one sister, Mary Elizabeth (Bill) Castle.
Surviving are two sisters, Jessie Vanhoose of Hagerhill, and Geraldine “Teen” Castle of Wittensville.
The service will be officiated by James Kelly Caudill, with burial to follow in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Brian Auburn Runyon
1946-2017
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8, 3 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Brian Auburn Runyon, 70, of Staffordsville, who passed away Thursday, March 2 at his residence.
Burial will be in the Runyon Family cemetery at Nippa.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Dennis Allan Preston
1957-2017
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 4, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Dennis Allan Preston, 59, of Tutor Key, who passed away Wednesday, March 1 at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Paul Dutton
1925-2017
Our precious father, Paul Dutton, 92, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 29, 2017. He was a resident of LaGrange, Ohio for over 40 years. He was born May 15, 1925 in Pike County, Ky. He later left the coal mines of Kentucky and worked as a Class A machinist at Brown Fintube Co. in Elyria, Ohio, until the company dissolved. He worked for the Nordsen Co. in Amherst until retirement.
Most of Paul’s life was devoted to the church. He was instrumental in building the Vincent Freewill Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio in the mid 50’s and the Good Hope Baptist Church in Elyria in 1966. His greatest joy in life was traveling and singing southern gospel music. He adored his whole family whom he loved and was very proud. He was a member of the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter; Darlene (Charles) Sallee of Elyria, son; James (Sandra) Dutton of Wakeman, and brothers; Gene (Ruth) Dutton of Amherst, Mitchell (Betty) Dutton of Elyria and Walter (Mandy) Dutton of Inez; grandchildren; Kimberly (JT) Withrow of North Ridgeville, Kelly (David) Thompson of Vermilion, Ohio, Christine (David) Ash, of Wakeman, Brian (Vanessa) Scott of North Olmstead, and Darla (Chris) Daily of Columbus, Ohio; and step grandchildren; Mike and Matthew Sallee. He was a great grandfather to 13 and great-great grandfather to 8. He will be greatly missed by all of us. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Opal in 2005, parents; Willie and Emma Dutton, brothers; Palmer and BJ Dutton, and sister; Louise Melvin.
Friends and family were received on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4-7 at the Freewill Baptist Church, 205 Woodland Street, Wellington, where a service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 am. Calling hours will again be held at the Highland Memorial Funeral Chapel at Staffordsville, KY 41240 from 11 until 1 p.m. with burial following at Highland Memorial Park. Walter ‘Jack’ David McKenzie
1939 – 2017
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Walter “Jack” David McKenzie, 78, of Flat Gap, who passed away Tuesday, May 30 at his residence.
Burial will be in the McKenzie cemetery at Flat Gap.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Joe Russell Music
1955-2017
Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, 2 p.m. at the Auxier Free Will Baptist Church for Joe Russell Music, 61, of Van Lear, who passed away Tuesday, May 23 at his residence.
Mr. Music was born Dec. 20, 1955 in Floyd County, son of the late Frank Music and Dorothy Wells Music. He was also preceded in death two brothers, Dexter and Rex Music.
Surviving are his wife, Melinda McKenzie Music of Van Lear; one daughter, Kerri Nuccio of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, James David Music of Van Lear; one sister, Vivian Spencer of Leesburg, Fla.; two grandchildren, Elio Marcano and Emmalyn Nuccio.
The service was officiated by Bobby Joe Spencer, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Linda Lou Wiley
1948-2017
Funeral services were held Monday, May 29, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Linda Lou Wiley, 69, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, May 26 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
Burial was in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
