Burial was in the VanHoose Family cemetery at Nippa.

Sharon Stambaugh Dailey
1952-2017
Sharon Stambaugh Dailey, born Feb. 16, 1952, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with breast and pancreatic cancers. Sharon was born in Paintsville, to the late Harold and Ellen Jean Dale Stambaugh. She was a 1970 graduate of Fairview High School, Ashland. Sharon was an avid skeet-shooting enthusiast with many trophies and awards during her lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Lari Michele (Rick Lambert) Young; grandchildren, Erin Lambert and Ryan Lambert. Also surviving is one sister, Shelia McSurley; one nephew, Matthew Stambaugh; several aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bruce and Lizzie Stambaugh, and Raymond and Katherine Dale. In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. 1931-2017
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, 12 p.m. at the Martha Church of God for Betty Jo Parker, 85, of Martha, who passed away Friday, March 17, at Pikeville Medical Center.
Burial was in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 20 2 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Reva Hurst, 77, of Auxier, who passed away Friday, March 17 at St. Joseph – London.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Prestonsburg.

Ernestine Blair
1933-2017
Ernestine Blair, 83, Memphis Tenn., died Wednesday March 15th, 2017.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18 at Highland Memorial Park Chapel from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A graveside service will be held following visitation at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Ky.
Ernestine was born July 10, 1933, in Meally, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Bruce and Laura Phelps.
She was preceded in death by Carl, her husband of 42 years. Survivors include a daughter, Denese Bryant (Randy) of Memphis; a son, Mike Blair of North Carolina and two grandchildren; Jesse Bryant (Anna) of Greenfield, Tenn. and Daniel Bryant (Allison) of Memphis, Tenn., and three great-granddaughters.
She deeply loved her family and served others with a humble heart. She was a Christian who worshipped at Sycamore View Church of Christ.

Norvin Lee Bourne, Jr.
1935 – 2017
Norvin Bourne, 81, of Ashland, husband of Alice Preston Bourne, died peacefully, Monday morning, March 20th, at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a short illness. Norvin was born June 21, 1935 in Owen County, a son of the late Norvin Lee and Viola Bourne, Sr. Norvin was a retired payroll manager from Ashland Oil Inc., was a tax preparer for AARP for the last 30 years, and faithfully attended the 1st Methodist Church of Ashland. Surviving in addition to his loving wife include three sisters, Louise Holland of Springfield, Ill., Jane Bryant of Frankfort, and his twin sister, Cora Ann Lewis of Lawrenceburg; a sister-in-law, Patricia Preston of Paintsville; six nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews, and many special cousins. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 22nd, at 1 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Street officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be Thursday, March 23rd, at 1 p.m. at the Litteral cemetery in Oil Springs. Esther Sue Grim Tandy
1933-2017
On January 25, 2017 God received another angel.
A memorial service will be held April 1, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Versailles.
Ms. Tandy was 83, born April 2, 1933 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Faris and Malta Daniel Grim. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ollie Alice Grim Stambaugh, Elsie Grim; and two brothers, Duel and Ruel Grim. She retired from General Motors after 30 years and was currently a greeter at Sam’s Club for the past 10 years.
Surviving family includes her spouse of 43 years, Robert Hendrix of Willsburg; one daughter, Sharon (John) Kennard of Willisburg; one grandson, Matthew (Lisa) Pack of Glasgow; one great-granddaughter, Katie Pack of Glasgow; two sisters, Kathleen Grim Green of Lexington, Ohio; and Minnie Grim (Doug) Young of Long Beach, Calif.; 22 nieces and nephews, 34 great-nieces and nephews; two step-grandchildren, John D. (Trisa) Kennard of East Point, and Jennifer Gray of Paintsville; one step-great-granddaughter, Tamara (Luke) Dean of Richmond; three step-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.

William “Billy” Preston Pettry
1925-2017
William Preston “Billy” Pettry, age 91, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 25, 1925 in Edwight, West Virginia to King Dewey and Lillian Ray (Daniels) Pettry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, King Pettry, Jr., two sisters, Marie Vanhoose and Lois Daugherty (Charles), and only son William Michael “BillMike”.
Billy was a member of the Miami Valley United Baptist Church. He served his country during World War II in the US Army as a drill sergeant. He worked as a coal miner in Kentucky for 17 years. He was a 60 years member of the Van Lear Masonic Lodge # 885. He moved to Springfield in 1965, where he worked for Robbin and Myers until he retired. Billy coached Babe Ruth baseball for many years. Billy was a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan, loved to play ping- pong and golf, but most especially going to church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Emileen Webb Pettry; sister-in-law Joyce Webb Music and husband Ray and Sherry Webb Wetzel and husband Freddy; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Masonic Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday preceding the funeral service.

Friends may visit the Miami Valley United Baptist Church 660 W Hyde Road Yellow Springs on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, for Leroy Malone Jr., 52, of Thelma, who passed away Saturday, March 11 in Columbus, Ohio.
