Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Nina Marie Hitchcock Ratliff, 58, of Flat Gap, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 29 at her residence.
Burial was in the Hitchcock – Ratliff cemetery at Volga.

Brooksie Tackett Boleyn
1934-2017
Brooksie Tackett Boleyn, 82 years of age, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on August 19, 1934 to the late Rufus Milburn Tackett and Pearl Mullins Tackett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bonanza Freewill Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Ron L. Boleyn, five sons; David Tackett, Gregory Tackett, Ricky Tackett, Rodney Tackett and Lannie Tackett, three brothers; Rendal Tackett, Delano Tackett and Elby Lee Tackett, two sisters; Lavita Tackett and Augusta Branham and one grandchild; Melissa Dawn Tackett.
She is survived by three sons; Tony Tackett of Pikeville, Nicky Tackett of Norcross, Ga., and Sonny Tackett of Melbourne, Fla.; one daughter; Pam Tackett of Caney; five brothers, Milburn Tackett of Louisville, Phillip Tackett of Dorton, Cotton Tackett of Caney and Harley Tackett of Frankfort, Challis Tackett of Tennessee; one sister, Lois Evelyn Newsome of Huntington, Ind.; thirteen grandchildren; Melanie, MaShawna, Rod Erick, Jessica, Brandy, Nicholas, Chelsea, Isaiah, Kelly, Ashley, Courtney, Austin and twenty great-grandchildren. Along with her special loved ones, Sharon, Wendy and Wanda.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home with Jimmy Brown and Van West officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville. Visitation will begin on Tuesday after 6 p.m. with services on Wednesday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Wendell ‘Lee’ Tackett
1944-2017
Wendell “Lee” Tackett, 72, of Wabash, Ind., went to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:55 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind., surrounded by his family.
He was born July 20, 1944 in Paintsville, to Cecil and Ora Haney Tackett.
Lee married
Kathy Hampton in Wabash on July 12, 1963. He retired from General Tire after 21 years and also owned Aunt Kathy’s Kitchen, both in Wabash. He was former vice president of the United Rubber Workers Union 626, and he also served as President of the Retirees Group of the union. He was a member and head trustee at the Christian Heritage Church, and also was an ordained minister for several years. He loved serving the Lord. Lee was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, enjoyed being a vendor at the Farmer’s Market, playing golf, watching his grandchildren participate in sports, and enjoyed a good debate. His greatest treasure was his family, and he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Tackett of Wabash; two daughters, Lisa (Dave) Stone of Howell, Mich., and Amy (Dave) Cole of Wabash; five grandchildren, Jacob Lee Hinson of Fishers, Ind., Joshua D. (Tracie) Hinson of Anderson, Ind., Jessica L. Hinson of Howell, Mich., Noah D. Cole of Wabash, and Kayla R. Cole of North Manchester, Ind.; three great-grandchildren, Royce Hinson of Anderson, Kami Wheat and Kasen Cole, both of North Manchester; two brothers, Phillip (Sue) Tackett of Johnstown, Ohio, and Cecil “Curtie” (Marlene) Tackett and Jane (Paul) Meade, both of Paintsville; in-laws, Kenneth Wright of Louisa, Chris (Frank) Barber of St. Joseph, Mo., and Hannah Tackett of Chillicothe, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willis Tackett; and sister, Alma Wright.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, 10 a.m. at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial was in the Falls Cemetery, Wabash. P
Preferred memorial is Christian Heritage Church Building Fund.
Charlene Gay Minton
1937-2017
Minton, Charlene Gay, age 80 of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence (Stambaugh) and Claude VanHoose; brothers, Paul and Wilbur VanHoose; and sister, Claudine Jurich. Charlene leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years, Bob Minton; devoted sons, Terry (Patsy) Minton of Fairborn and Tim Minton of North Carolina; adoring grandchildren, Jared (Amanda) Minton, Joel Minton, JoJo Minton, Drew Minton, Lee Minton and Malia Minton; and loving great-grandchildren, Cole and Carter. Charlene was a beloved mamaw. Her passion was cooking and she loved sharing it with everyone. She also found great joy in shopping.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, OH 45324, with interment at Byron Cemetery.

Sarah Leota ‘Johnnie’ Rice Stambaugh
1927-2017
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 3 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Sarah Leota “Johnnie” Rice Stambaugh, 89, of Pine Knot, who passed away Sunday, March 19 at Jean Waddle Care Center-Hospice Center in Somerset.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born June 18, 1927 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Walter and Nayme Sherman Rice. She was registered nurse. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Stambaugh; two brothers, Louie Rice and Keith Rice; and two sisters, Billie Jean Rice and Bobbie Rice Gibson.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda (Gary) Slaven and Pam (Mike) Adkins, both of Somerset, and Elaine (Rich) Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, J.R. (Brande) Rice of Greenville, Ohio; a nephew (who was like a son) Gary Wayne Hill; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Sharon Stambaugh Dailey
1952-2017
Sharon Stambaugh Dailey, born Feb. 16, 1952, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with breast and pancreatic cancers. Sharon was born in Paintsville, to the late Harold and Ellen Jean Dale Stambaugh. She was a 1970 graduate of Fairview High School, Ashland. Sharon was an avid skeet-shooting enthusiast with many trophies and awards during her lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Lari Michele (Rick Lambert) Young; grandchildren, Erin Lambert and Ryan Lambert. Also surviving is one sister, Shelia McSurley; one nephew, Matthew Stambaugh; several aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bruce and Lizzie Stambaugh, and Raymond and Katherine Dale. In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Norvin Lee Bourne, Jr.
1935 – 2017
Norvin Bourne, 81, of Ashland, husband of Alice Preston Bourne, died peacefully, Monday morning, March 20th, at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a short illness. Norvin was born June 21, 1935 in Owen County, a son of the late Norvin Lee and Viola Bourne, Sr. Norvin was a retired payroll manager from Ashland Oil Inc., was a tax preparer for AARP for the last 30 years, and faithfully attended the 1st Methodist Church of Ashland. Surviving in addition to his loving wife include three sisters, Louise Holland of Springfield, Ill., Jane Bryant of Frankfort, and his twin sister, Cora Ann Lewis of Lawrenceburg; a sister-in-law, Patricia Preston of Paintsville; six nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews, and many special cousins. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 22nd, at 1 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Street officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be Thursday, March 23rd, at 1 p.m. at the Litteral cemetery in Oil Springs. Darlene Honeycutt Hall, age 78, of Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her home.
She is survived by four sons, John Hall (Susan) of Frankfort, Michael Hall of Van Lear, Mauice Hall (Sandra) of Flat Gap, and Shawn Hall (Angie) of Wittensville; one daughter, Sharlene Bell (Noel) of Van Lear; three sisters, Arbutus Ratliff of Volga, Lillie Mae Brasher of Lyndon, Tenn., and Shirley Malone of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Rachel Ray, Kiley Hall, Leah Hall, and Kinsley Hall; and two step grandchildren, Emily Watson and Amanda Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Southside Free Will Baptist Church, with Wayne Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Auxier Relocation Cemetery, at Auxier, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Southside Free Will Baptist from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 and 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017.
