Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Ruie Evelyn Crislip Preston, 88, of Flat Gap, who passed away Tuesday, June 28 at her residence.
Burial will follow in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

James Franklin Blair
1925-2016
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 1 p.m. at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel for James Franklin Blair, 91, of Paintsville, formerly of Waverly, Ohio, who passed away Sunday, June 26 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
Mr. Blair was born Feb. 15, 1925 in Catlettsburg, son of the late Dennis D. and Mary Ellen Hensley Blair. He was a sheet metal worker, a U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Church of Christ in Waverly. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Owens Blair; one brother, Dennis Blair; and three sisters, Ann Brewer, Margaret Marzian and Linda Beeman.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Iris Blair, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Military rites will be given by Salyersville D. A. V. Chapter 15 on the day of the service.
The service will be officiated by J. R. Owens, with burial to follow in the Owens Family cemetery at Lick Creek.

Cas Stephen Grass
1948-2016
Cas Stephen Grass, 67, of Jeffersonville, died Tuesday morning, June 21, 2016 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born July 1, 1948 in Etty, Ky. to the late Charles and Laura Fleming Grass.
Cas moved to Montgomery County sixteen years ago from Paintsville. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of Means Community Miracle Church and retired from P&R; Trucking in Camargo. Previously, Cas was a deputy sheriff in Paintsville and also the Montgomery County Constable. He had a big personality; he was funny, never met a stranger and he loved serving our community and helping people. Cas enjoyed deer, rabbit and squirrel hunting, also, loafing with his friends at Quick Stop in Jeffersonville. He will be dearly missed by his family, church family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife of forty-eight years, Brenda Nester Grass of Jeffersonville; two sons, Shawn Grass (Kathy) and Cas Grass, Jr. (Jessica), both of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Stephanie Kelly of Jeffersonville and Serena Hall (James) of Winchester; five brothers, Jerry Grass of Morehead, Mike Grass (Carrie) of West Liberty, Stevie Joe Grass, Conneil Grass (Marilyn) and Eric Grass, all of Van Lear; two sisters, Sharon Barron (Charlie) of Nicholasville and Sharla Spencer (Bobby) of Van Lear; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Grass and one brother, Charles Grass.
Funeral will be Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Means Community Miracle Church. Pastor Tommy Evans will be officiating.

Eldon “Silver Bullet” McKenzie
1942-2016
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Eldon ‘Silver Bullet’ McKenzie 74, of Paintsville, who passed away Tuesday, June 21 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. McKenzie was born May 9, 1942 in Johnson County, son of the late Frank and Edna Faye Lemaster McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell and Sam McKenzie.
Surviving are one son, Scott Eldon McKenzie of Auxier; three daughters, Debbie Ann (Wendell) Meade of Stambaugh, Donna (Ronnie) Goble of Flat Gap, and Dottie Lynn Fairchild of Paintsville; two brothers, Almos Paul McKenzie of Springfield, Ohio and Roger McKenzie of Dayton, Ohio; three sisters, Ernestine Mullins of Pataskala, Ohio, Earlene Jackey of Sunbury, Ohio, and Edra Lynn McKenzie of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Ashley Nicole (Michael) Scott, Trenton Dean Goble, Corey Michael Fairchild, Lynsey Nicole Fairchild, Scotty Eldon McKenzie and Patrick McKenzie; and one great-grandchild, Kendyl Grace Scott.
The service will be officiated by Steve Rose and Roger Goble, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
Visitation will be until time of funeral at 1 p.m.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Morris Douglas Meek, 76, of Whitehouse, who passed away Thursday, June 23 at Community Hospice Center in Ashland.
Burial was in the Murray Family cemetery at Whitehouse.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Zandra Area Kindle Arnett, 68, of Van Lear, who passed away Wednesday, June 22 at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Mrs. Arnett was born Dec. 3, 1947 in Marion, Ind., daughter of the late Harold and Martha Hannah Kindle.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Arnett of Van Lear; one daughter, Arrena Murphy of Palm Bay, Fla.; two brothers, Butch Kindle of Somerset, Ind. And Rick Kindle of Gas City, Ind.; three sisters, Pam Boone of Troy, Mich., Margo Luzadder of Elwood, Ind., and Vicky Jurkovic of Oviedo, Fla.; two grandchildren, Brandon Holbrook of Bryan, Ohio and Makita Wallen of Palm Bay; and one great-grandchild, Talon Holbrook of Bryan.
Visitation will be at the chapel Friday, June 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. until time of service.
The service will be officiated by Harry Neal Frisby, with burial to follow in the Wheeler Family cemetery at Crockett.
