Surviving are two nephews, Jack Cecil Hall of Lavonia, Michigan, and Kenneth Gordon Blair of Jenkins; and six nieces, Charlene Conley of Van Lear, Margaret Hall of Hager Hill, Tommie Jean Branham of Pikeville, Grace Jasper of Logan, West Virginia, Lorraine Blair of Virginia City, Virginia, and Linda Beemon of Crittenden.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Ruby Jewell Hensley Stapleton, 46, who died Sunday, November 21, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Ms. Stapleton was born February 2, 1953, in Johnson County, to Luke Hensley and the late Marie Prater Hensley.
Surviving are her father; one son, Casey Stapleton; and one daughter, Vanessa Stapleton of Van Lear.
James Meddings

Former Johnson County resident James Meddings, 67, of Jenkins, died November 21 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Meddings was born September 18, 1932, at Van Lear, to the late Otto and Gladys Stanley Meddings. He was a retired coal miner and member of the Freewill Baptist Church at Wittensville.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Roberts Meddings; one son, Jeffrey Meddings of Ashland; one sister, Rachel Musgrave of Ashland; one brother, David Meddings of Paducah; and one grandchild.
Anna Harris

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 21, for Anna Louise Harris, 77, who died Thursday, November 18, at her Auxier residence.
Mrs. Harris was born January 9, 1922, in Mingo County, West Virginia, to the late William and Rhoda Sizemore Hagans. She was retired from Foothills Telephone Communications.
Surviving are her husband, Bascom Harris; one son, William J. Herald of Slaughters; and one sister, Frances Irwin of Sun City Center, Florida.

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for James Albert "Bud" Stambaugh, 47, who died November 20 at his Lexington residence.
Mr. Stambaugh was born January 25, 1952, in Johnson County, to Delores VanHoose Stambaugh and the late Clyde Stambaugh. He had worked for The Hoover Group as a machine operator.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Stambaugh; his mother, Delores Stambaugh of Murray; one stepdaughter, Michelle McCloud; three brothers, Clyde Thomas of Murray, Charles Donald of Paris and Joseph Shawn of Stambaugh; and two sisters, Shelby Coleman of Stambaugh and Diana Lynch of Flatwoods.

Wiley "B" Gullette, 97, died Saturday, November 20, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home of Paintsville.
Mr. Gullette was born August 1, 1902, in Magoffin County, to the late William S. and Katie Gullette. He was employed by the Paintsville City Street Department.
Surviving are three daughters, Dovie Belcher of Paintsville, Mollie Stapleton of Tutor Key and Deborah Hendley of Bowling Green; seven foster children, one being Patricia Ann Daniels of Paintsville; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Sitka resident Bonnie Collins, 46, died November 19 at her residence.
Mrs. Collins was born December 12, 1952, in Johnson County, to the late Ova Ossie and Angie Boggs. She was a member of Cannons Chapel Church at Volga.
Surviving are four sons, Darrell and Bo Collins, both of Sitka, Donald "Tony" and Matthew Collins, both of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Amy Greenwood of Pataskala, Ohio; three brothers, Beecher "Bud" Boggs of Flat Gap, Ossie Boggs of Martha and David P. Mrs. West was born October 26, 1938, in Lawrence County, to Della Arrington and the late Charlie Arrington. She was a secretary for the board of education and a member of Hoods Fork United Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Claude West; her mother; one daughter, Robin Barker of Catlettsburg; one son, Rocky Darrell West of Blaine; one sister, Rita Lynn Smith of Fort Gay, West Virginia; two brothers, Kenneth and Chuck Arrington, both of Blaine; and three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. Bayes was born June 5, 1925, in Johnson County, to the late Newt and Dicie Ramey Bayes. He was an employee with the State Highway Department and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Hester Bayes; and three nieces and one nephew.

Mary Gartin
1911-1999
Mary Trimble Gartin, 88, formerly of Blaine, died October 27, in Morehead, at the residence of her daughter, Carol Williams.
Mrs. Gartin was born April 9, 1911, at Bradley, to the late Enoch Spencer (Spencer) and Stella Patrick West. On October 22, 1932, she married Newton (Newt) Trimble, formerly of Oil Springs, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1965. She later married Luther Gartin of Blaine, in October 1967. He died on January 10, 1988. She was a member of the Old Blaine United Baptist Church at Blaine.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Rhoda Hay; and five brothers, Parker, Claude, Barton, Lee and Noah West; and three stepsons, Leon Franklin Trimble, Nevin Rice Trimble and Donald Bert Trimble.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Ann Ross of Chillicothe, Ohio, (with whom she had made her home for several years), Doris Jean (Mrs. John C.) Ball of Flatwoods and Elma Carol (Mrs. Homer) Williams of Morehead; two brothers, Eddie West of Lucasville, Ohio, and North West of Louisa; three stepdaughters-in-law, Joan Trimble of Hyde Park, New York, Mildred Trimble, of Dayton, Ohio, and Ernestine Trimble of Chillicothe; and 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
