Sarah Elizabeth Bayes Meade
1921-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 11 a.m. at the Father’s House of Prayer, for Sarah Elizabeth Bayes Meade, 93, of Flat Gap, who passed away Sunday, July 12 at her residence.
Burial in the Meade Family cemetery at Flat Gap.

Elcine Tackett Hall
1936-2015
Elcine (Tackett) Hall, 79, was called into the presence of the Lord, at 10:45 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Kindred Hospital, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Hall was born April 10, 1936 in Auxier, to Clyde and Rebecca (Adkins) Tackett, who preceded her in death. On November 25, 1953 she married
Frankie Hall, who preceded her in death on October 31, 1964. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Paul Shaffer.
Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Meade Memorial High School, Williamsport. She worked as a waitress in several area restaurants, and was a volunteer for Allen and Putnam County Crime Victim Services. Elcine enjoyed playing cards, genealogy, and going to Walmart. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was blessed with two daughters, Kaye (Jeff) Starr of Harrod, and Tina (Richard) Rieman of Ottawa; four step-daughters, Paula (Russ) Smith of Middletown, Jackie (Kerry) Burden of Ada, Lynnette (Bruce) Carpenter of Harrod, and Claudia (Bruce) Brown of Jefferson City, TN; five grandchildren, Kristen (Justin) Howard, Megan (Lyle) Dray, Matt Starr, Emily (Fiancé Ross Litten) Rieman, and Zach Rieman; ten step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Lily, William, and Ella Howard, Landon and Hunter Dray; three sisters-in-law, Sherie Tackett, Marian Tackett and Carolyn Legoretta, her beloved cat, Angel; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends at Luther Pines.
Elcine was preceded in death by: her step-son, Duke Burton, step-grandson, Tony Spradlin, four brothers, William Tackett, Clyde Tackett Jr., Ora Tackett, Thomas Ray Tackett, and three sisters, Lorraine Reese, Mary Magdaline Tackett, and Allene Pack
Services were held on Saturday, June 27 at Chiles - Laman Funeral And Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel in Lima, Ohio . Pastor Lee Perry officiated the services. Burial followed in the Vaughnsville Cemetery.

Ivan Fairchild
1945-2015
Ivan Fairchild, age 69, of Staffordsville, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home.
Ivan was born November 28, 1945 in Johnson County, son of the late Jesse and Grace Litton Fairchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nellowene Blair Fairchild, six brothers, Hobert, Demis, John, Jesse, Ernie and Gilbert Fairchild.
Ivan is survived by one son, Greg Fairchild and wife Carrie of Staffordsville; two daughters, Jennie Murray and husband Michael of Sitka and Tammy Rice and husband Dr. Jason Rice of Paintsville; three brothers, Buford Fairchild of Columbus, Ohio, Irvin Fairchild and Willie Fairchild both of Staffordsville; three sisters, Shirley Hill, Dollie Pennington, Shelby Jean Blanton all of Staffordsville; four grandchildren, Ryan Murray, Seth Murray, Blair Rice, and Grant Rice.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 5, 2015 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Buddy McKenzie and Joe Harmon.

Jerry Michael “Mike” Daniels
1953-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 1 p.m. at the Chestnut Grove Enterprise Baptist Church in Lowmansville, for Jerry Michael “Mike” Daniels, 62, of Lowmansville, who passed away Saturday, July 4 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W. Va.
Mr. Daniels was born June 7, 1953 in Cynthiana, Ohio, son of Goldie Lansing Daniels of Kingston, Ohio, and the late Roy Daniels.
He was a retired truck driver and mechanic.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Daniels.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Daniels of Lowmansville; two daughters, Brandy (Jonathan) King of Blaine, and Jeri Daniels of Inez; four brothers, Leroy Daniels of Catlettsburg, Russell Daniels of Kingston, Roger Daniels of Londonderry, Ohio, and Richard Daniels of Mechanicsville, Md.; two sisters, Margie Harvey of Stoutsville, Ohio, and Carolyn Uhrig of Kingston; and five grandchildren, Destany King, Jalyn King, and Grace King, all of Blaine, and Haley Johnson and Jacob Johnson, both of Inez; and many other nieces and nephews.
The service will be officiated by Rev. Terry Conley, Pastor Roger Sparks, and Rev. Rodney King, with burial to follow in the Little Mary Church cemetery at Charley.

Helen R. Stafford
1937-2015
Helen R. Stafford, age 78, of Van Lear, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg. Born March 26, 1937 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Mason and Emma Childers Blanton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, David Blanton; two sisters, Diane Meek and Fern Younts. She is survived by her husband, Everett Stafford; one son, Mark Stafford of Nicholasville; one daughter, Jill Stafford of Paintsville; a special nephew, Bill Stafford of Lexington; one brother, Robert Blanton of Thelma, ; two sisters, Kathrine Butcher of Shelbyville, Ohio, Betty Carr of Landry, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Justin Stafford, Tyler Stafford, and Hallie Stafford.
Funeral services were held at 11a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial following in the Wells cemetery at Paintsville. Dewey Mullins, Johnny Mollett, and Freddy Salyers will officiate. Judy Meade
1950-2015
Judy Meade, age 65, of Oil Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 30th at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland.
Mrs. Meade was born January 16, 1950 in Johnson County, daughter of the late William and Dixie Crace Griffith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Elva Rice, Jr., Michael Leon Griffith, Wade Griffith, Edgar “Bud” Griffith, three sisters, Edith Smith, Mary Ruth Hill, and Edna Ruth Griffith.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Meade; one son, Gary Michael Meade and wife Stacy of Van Lear; two daughters, Lisa Ann Johnson and husband Leroy of Van Lear and Renee Lynn Music and husband Richard of Boonscamp; one sister, Edna Smith of Morgan County; four grandsons and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 3rd in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with J.R. Connelley and Richard Music officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville.

Funeral services were held at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 7, for Michael Ray Stapleton, who passed away July 3 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Burial was at the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
