Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Jane Preston, 84, of Flat Gap, who passed away Saturday, March 21 at her residence.
Mrs. Preston was born Sept. 9, 1930 in Paintsville, daughter of the late L. and Lena Oppenheimer Siler. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Preston.
Surviving are two sons, Ray E. Preston II of Lexington, and Rick Preston of Paintsville; one daughter, Cathy Meadows of Flat Gap; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Roger Goble, with burial to follow in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

John Allen Bohannan
1930-2015
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 24, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for John Allen Bohannan of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, March 20 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.
Mr. Bohannan was born Nov. 8, 1930 in Portageville, Mo., son of the late John D. and Murray Margaret Miller Bohannan. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, David (Melissa) Bohannan of Lancaster, Calif., and Mark C. Bohannan of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; four daughters, Karen Wesley of St. Joseph, Mo., Cathy Bohannan of Pikeville, Rebecca (Ron) Carey of Danville, and Lisa Howard of Paintsville; one sister, Judy Novack of Michigan; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Ken Spurrier, with burial in the Kentucky Veterans cemetery Northeast at Greenup.

Patricia Ann Walters
1934-2015
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 20, 7 p.m. at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw, Ind., for Patricia Ann Walters, 81, of Warsaw, who passed away Tuesday, March 17 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Ind.
Mrs. Walters was born Jan. 11, 1934 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Eddrell and Opal Stanley Miller. She was an employee for the Census Bureau for many years; and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Paintsville. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene S. Walters, and one son, Taulbee Walters.
Surviving are two sons, Eddrell Stuart Walters of Versailles, and Terry (Michelle) Walters of Warsaw; four daughters, Leslie Golden and Carmen (Ken) Fraley, both of Silver Lake, Ind., Tami Spencer of Warsaw, and Dawn R. (Robert) Spears of East Point; two sisters, Madonna Chappell, Fla., and Joyce Bennett of Mishawaka, Ind.; three brothers, Tony Miller, Bob Miller and Ed Miller Jr., all of Florida; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Verna Helton Adams Fairchild
1917-2015
Verna Helton Adams Fairchild, 97, of Salyersville, passed away March 17, 2015 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, surrounded by her loving daughters and grandchildren.
Born on July 24, 1917 in Magoffin County, Verna was the daughter of Lacey and Dollie Francis Helton. She graduated from Campbellsville College in 1936 before marrying her beloved John “Shug” Adams. After their marriage, Verna and Shug taught several years in Magoffin County before owning the Adams Appliance Store and the Ivy Point Motel.
A strong believer in the power of education, Verna took enormous pride in seeing all of daughters and grandchildren attend college. She was also well-known for her love and fierce devotion to family, a life-long enjoyment of gardening, a kitchen filled with home-cooked food, and her quick-witted intelligence and humor. Dedicated to her faith, Verna was a long-standing member of the Salyersville First Baptist Church.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Adams and Herschel Fairchild; two brothers, Garland and Lawson Helton; and one son-in-law, Dale Clemons.
She is survived by five daughters; Patty Setser of Paintsville, Brenda McCullough of Corvallis, Ore., Lou Clemons of Bright, Ind., Linda (Glen) Martin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joan (Frank) Yocum of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Paula (Mitch) Setser-Kissick, Katrine (Rob) Burris, Tonya (Erland) Arning, Sheri (Kevin) Setser-Legg, Heather Clemons, Stacy Martin and Alexander (Kellan) McCullough; 10 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Chaela, Jourdan, Colby, Kasey, Zoe, Addie, Zeke, Mirabel and Milo; and five siblings, Berlin and Herlin Helton, Corma Howard and Yvonne Jenkins.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. at the Magoffin County Funeral Home, 817 Parkway Drive, Salyersville, Ky., on Friday, March 20, 2015.
The funeral and celebration service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Salyersville First Baptist Church, followed by burial in the Bluegrass Cemetery, Salyersville.
Wandena Young
1937-2015
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Wandena Young, 77, of Van Lear, who passed away Thursday, March 12 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.
Mrs. Young was born April 16, 1937 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Leonard and Sylvia Collins Dennison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Young; one son, Ronald Gene Young; one brother, Prince Dennison; and two sisters, Eunice Hites and Eileen Stambaugh.
Surviving are one son, Leroy (Becky) Young of Van Lear; two daughters, Greta (Ben) Tackett of Staffordsville, and Melanie (Greg) Cantrell of Red Bush; one brother, Claude (Faye) Dennison of Catlettsburg; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Joe Hill, with burial in the Wells-Collins cemetery at Daniels Creek.

Benita Stambaugh
1956-2015
Graveside services were held Saturday, March 14, 11 a.m. at the Stambaugh Church of Christ cemetery at Stambaugh, for Benita Stambaugh, 58, of Thelma, who passed away Thursday, March 12.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born Oct. 13, 1956 in Paintsville, daughter of Okie Patrick Stambaugh of Sitka, and the late Minyard Stambaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Stambaugh.
Surviving are one son, A. J. Stambaugh of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; one daughter, Ashley Stambaugh of Thelma; one brother, Minyard Carl Stambaugh of Sitka; and two sisters, Tamera McKenzie of Paintsville, and Pamela Jenkins of Flat Gap.
The service was officiated by James Roger VanHoose.

Dora M. Daniel

Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Dora M. Daniel, 80, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, March 13.
Mrs. Daniel was born March 20, 1934 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Claude and Ruby Blair Hamilton.
Surviving are her husband, Paul E. Daniel, of Paintsville; two sons, Jeffery Paul Daniel of Paintsville, and David Daniel of Sitka; two daughters, Cheryl Davis of Sitka and Shawn Gullett of Paintsville; four sisters, Helen Welch and Kay Slone, both of Tutor Key, Margaret Stroud of Charleston, W. Va., and Ann Blanton of Sciotoville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by John Scarbro, with burial in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Georgine Caudill
1938-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 1 p.m. at the New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church for Georgine Caudill, 77, of Staffordsville, who passed away Saturday, March 14 at her residence.
Ms. Caudill was born Jan. 21, 1938 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Edgar and Wonnie Conley Caudill. She had worked as a server with Dairy Queen in Paintsville and Prestonsburg. She was also preceded in death by one son, Paul David Caudill; one daughter, Cathy Jean Heuser; one brother, Darwin Caudill; two sisters, Daisy Ratliff and Dorothy May; and one grandson, James Michael Perkowski.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Ray Caudill of East Point, William B. Caudill of Sitka, and Charles A. Caudill of Roy, Washington; three daughters, Anita Sue Caudill of Boaz, Ala., Nancy Lynn Caudill ofJohnson City, Tenn., Melissa Ann Sullivan of Whitehouse, Texas; one brother, Donald Ray “Doc” Caudill of Leander; two sisters, Doris Ann Brown of Louisa, and Geraldine Nancy Brown of Lexington; special companion, Clarence Lyons; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Joe Scott and Donald Ray Caudill, with burial to follow in the Taylor Family cemetery at Nippa.
