Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Helen Margaret Wilcox, 84, of West Van Lear, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 17 at The Hurstbourne Care Center in Louisville.
Mrs. Wilcox was born Dec. 14, 1930 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Ballard and Sarah Webb Hyden. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray Daniels; six brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are her husband, Clifton Wilcox; one daughter Joyce Daniels of Louisville; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Daniels of Wabash, Ind.; two sisters, Gladys Blair and Thelma Helton, both of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Manford Fannin, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Keltis C. Dale
1949-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 19, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Keltis C. Dale, 65, of Meally, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 15 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Dale was born Aug. 27, 1949 in Johnson County, son of the late Elsie and Mary Spalding Dale. He was a construction laborer; and a U. S. Army veteran. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Dale.
Surviving are two sons, Scott (Michelle) Dale of Meally and Casey Dale (Tiffany) of Ulysses; five brothers, Edgar (Modena) Dale of Hager Hill, Larry Dale of Chillicothe, Ohio, Bobby (Gail) Dale of Waverly, Ohio, John (Samantha) Dale of Beaver, Ohio, and Gary Dale of Johnson County; five sisters, Anna (Mike) Anderson of South Point, Ohio, Drena (Paul) Maynard of Cleveland, Ohio, Jenny (Jack) Uhlman of Zanesville, Ohio, Marcella Dale of Waverly, and Maria Dale of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, and two-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Greg Crum, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Charley Jaynes Jr.
1942-2015
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Charley Jaynes Jr., 72, of Volga, who passed away Friday, Jan. 9 at his residence.
Mr. Jaynes was born Feb. 5, 1942 in Johnson County, son of the late Vonnie Conley Jaynes and Charley Jaynes Sr. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eulas and Howard Jaynes; and one sister, Avanell Hampton.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Raeburn Jaynes of Volga; two sons, Alexander Ray Jaynes of Flat Gap, and Charley Jaynes III of Liberty, N.C.; three brothers, Clarence Jaynes of Oklahoma, David Jaynes of Van Lear, and Danny Jaynes of River; two sisters, Ywan Skaggs of Oil Springs, and Minnie Baldridge of Nippa; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Edgel Golden.

Fred Harris
1924-2015
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 11 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Prestonsburg, for Fred Harris, 90, of East Point, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 11 at Riverview Health Care Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Harris was born March 5, 1924 in Floyd County, son of the late John W. and Martha Kendrick Harris. He was former co-owner of Harris Bros. Construction; a WWII Navy veteran; a 50-year member of Zebulon Masonic Lodge #273; and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Leake Harris of East Point; one daughter, Kathy (Danny) Lowe of Prestonsburg; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Bro. Bobby Joe Spencer and the Rev. Jerri Williams, with burial in the Richmond Memorial Cemetery.

Geneva Irvin Carter
1922-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Prestonsburg, for Geneva Irvin Carter, 92, of Lexington, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 17 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Mrs. Carter was born March 26, 1922 in Paintsville, daughter of the late William H. Irvin and Maggie Lee Sheffield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Carter. She was a licensed funeral director and co-owner of Carter Funeral Home; and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prestonsburg.
Surviving are one son, James. J. Carter II of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Susan Carter Roberts of Lexington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. Jerri Williams and Dr. Rev. Jim Adams, with burial to follow in the Mayo cemetery in Prestonsburg.

Joann Fay Clark

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 18, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Joann Fay Clark, 52, of Sitka, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Mrs. Clark was born April 7, 1962 in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Herman and Deloris Stambaugh Hensley. She was a cook for a nursing home.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon Clark; three brothers, Kenny Hensley of Waldo, Jack Hensley of Paintsville, and Chris Hensley of Van Lear; and one sister, Rhonda Honeycutt of Flat Gap.
The service was officiated by Lionell Burchett, with burial in the family cemetery at Tutor Key.

Tom Franklin Baldridge
1955-2015
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 17, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Tom Franklin Baldridge, 59, of Nippa, who passed away Monday, Jan. 12 in Paintsville.
Mr. Baldridge was born Oct. 22, 1955 in Johnson County, son of the late Frank Jetters and Edna Mae Baldridge. He was a painter.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy Lee Baldridge of Paintsville, and John Edward Baldridge of Indiana; four daughters, Tammy Baldridge and Brandy Lemasters, both of Paintsville, Florence Webb of West Van Lear, and Krissy Hudnall of Salyersville; three brothers, Jamie and Joe Farris, both of Ashland, and David Henry of Texas; two sisters, Glenda Roshinsky of Michigan, and Kimberly Grayson of Mt. Sterling; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The service was officiated by James Price, with burial in the Jayne cemetery at Staffordsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Barbara Fern May, 74, of Denver, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10 at her residence.
Mrs. May was born Sept. 28, 1940 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Carl and Ella Louise Horn Blair. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cherish Lavana Barrows.
Surviving are her husband, Hobert E. “Gene” May of Denver; one daughter, Cheryl Legena Ratliff of Hager Hill; nine brothers, Francis Blair, Phillip Blair, Eldon Blair, John Blair and Rick Blair, all of Staffordsville, Robie Blair of Denver, Carl Blair Jr. of Asa Creek, Neal Blair of Wittensville and Gerald Blair of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Kathy Meade of Flat Gap, Cheryl Johnson of Staffordsville, Jean Dawson of Hager Hill, and Polly Adams of West Van Lear; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13 at the chapel.
The service will be officiated by Bros. Cecil Adams, Gerald Preston, Elders Gene Burnett and David Baldwin, with burial to follow in the Blair Family cemetery at Staffordsville.
