Funeral services were held Monday, June 23, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Nelva Jude Booth, 69, of River, who passed away Saturday, June 21.
Mrs. Booth was born July 13, 1944 at Three Forks, daughter of the late Jack and Pearl Blackburn Jude. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Booth.
Surviving are two step-sons, Jerry Booth of Sitka, and Robert Leon Booth of Elizabethtown; seven brothers, Jobe Jude of Maysville, Mo., David Jude and Rush Jude, both of Oil Springs, T. D. Jude of Richmond, Va., and Henderson Jude of Debord, Ky., William Jude of Paintsville, and Hershel Jude of Louisa; three sisters, Thelma Parsons of Pilgrim, Elva Jackson of Butler, Mo., and Judy Jude of Oklahoma City, Ok.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jeremy Estep, James R. VanHoose, and Gordon Ward, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Thelma Jewell Delong
1931-2014
Funeral services were held Monday, June 23, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Thelma Jewell Delong, 82, of Richmond, who passed away Friday, June 20 at Baptist Health of Lexington.
Mrs. Delong was born July 19, 1931 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Thurman and Ora Estep McKenzie. She was a retired teacher with the Johnson County School system; and a member of the First Baptist Church of Paintsville. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Delong.
Surviving are one son, P. R. (Patty) Delong of Hager Hill; one daughter, Nancy Lamb of Richmond; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Bob Collins, Clay Wheeler and Bill Forte, with burial in the Ted Delong cemetery at Hager Hill.

Janie Trimble Howard
Janie Howard, nee: Trimble, 64, of Lexington, formerly of Staffordsville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Janie was a retired stocker with JC Penny in Lexington. She was an active member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Lexington, and also a member of the Third Street Free Will Baptist Church in Paintsville. Janie was both a pianist and vocalist at both churches. She was an avid baker and marathon shopper. Her husband, Ellis Marvin Howard and brother, Davis Reed Trimble Jr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Jeffery (Julie) Howard of Lexington, Stephanie (Chip) Phelps of Independence, Jamie (Donna) Howard of Union; brothers and sisters, Ginny (Leroy) Pelphrey of New Carlisle, Ohio, Jack Trimble, Bob (Gale) Trimble and Debbie (BJ) Ward, all of Paintsville.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alex, Allen, Sean, Shelby, Payton, Rileigh and Kenan Howard, Kaden and Jimmy Trey Phelps.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, 4281 Haley Road, Lexington with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be Lakeview Memorial cemetery in Staffordsville at 4 p.m.

Ava Geraldine ‘Jewell’ Conley
1931-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Funeral Chapel at Staffordsville, for Ava Geraldine “Jewell” Conley, 83, of Nicholasville, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7 at St. Joseph Healthcare Main in Lexington.
Mrs. Conley was born Oct. 9, 1931 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Otto and Gertrude Webb Moles. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Conley; and one sister, Betty Johnson.
Surviving are two sons, Harry Milton Conley of Valparaiso, Ind., and James Curtis Conley of Nicholasville; one daughter, Dianna Lynn Lucas of Valparaiso; three sisters, Marguerite Roberts of Wittensville, Nancy Lancaster of Nicholasville, and Dottie Kestner of Paintsville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Wes Stedtefeld, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Nevelyn Jean Fitch
1944-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Nevelyn Jean Fitch, 70, of Oil Springs, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 8 at Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Mrs. Fitch was born April 2, 1944 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Cline and Lou Anna McCarty Blanton. She was a retired factory worker with American Standard. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Jodi Powers; and one half-brother, Cline Blanton Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Delmas Fitch of Oil Springs; one son, Gregory Allen Moore of Oil Springs; two daughters, Stephanie Ann (Brent) Ferguson of Georgetown, and Kimberly Gottfried of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Joyce Williams of Pickerington, Ohio, Maxine Penix of Staffordsville, and Mary VanHoose of Pataskala, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jim McKenzie, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Randall Derek Powers
1980-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Randall Derek Powers, 34, of Sitka, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 8.
Mr. Powers was born Sept. 25, 1980 in Johnson County, son of Randall Gale Powers of Paintsville and Deloris Caudill Hall of Martin. He was employed with Alpha Resources.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Stephanie Blair Powers of Sitka; one son, Caleb Collins of Sitka; two daughters, Taylor and Emily Powers, both of Sitka; one brother, Darrin Powers of Leander; two sisters, Amy Powers of Leander and Melissa VanHoose of Wittensville; and maternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Caudill of Leander.
The service was officiated by Joe Scott and Donald Caudill, with burial in the Caudill Family cemetery at Leander.

Charley Jaynes Jr.
1942-2015
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Charley Jaynes Jr., 72, of Volga, who passed away Friday, Jan. 9 at his residence.
Mr. Jaynes was born Feb. 5, 1942 in Johnson County, son of the late Vonnie Conley Jaynes and Charley Jaynes Sr. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ulysses and Howard Jaynes; and one sister, Avanell Hampton.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Raeburn Jaynes of Volga; two sons, Alexander Ray Jaynes of Flat Gap, and Charley Jaynes III of Liberty, N.C.; three brothers, Clarence Jaynes of Oklahoma, David Jaynes of Van Lear, and Danny Jaynes of River; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Paul E. Powers
1934-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 12 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Paul E. Powers, 80, of Boomer, W. Va., who passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 in Charleston, W. Va.
Mr. Powers was born April 17, 1934 at Conley, son of the late Tony and Oma Puckett Powers. He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Schisler Powers; one son, Ricky Paul Powers of Hager Hill; three daughters, Vicki (Bob) Church of Alloy, W. Va., Lana Meeks of Paintsville, and Vivian (Rick) Dixon of Londonderry, N. H.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Wayne Price and Ronnie Woods, with burial to follow in the Powers cemetery at Swamp Branch.
