Funeral services were held Sunday, July 6, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Michael David Dorton, 50, of Thealka, who passed away Tuesday, July 1 at his residence.
Mr. Dorton was born June 10, 1964.
Surviving are eight brothers, Scott Dorton, Bobby Dorton, Arnold Dorton, Dewey Dorton, Andrew Dorton, Kenneth Dorton, Rick Dorton and William Dorton, all of Paintsville; three sisters, Rose Prater and Teresa Taylor, both of South Point, Ohio, and Helen Burke of Lady Lake, Fla.; two step-sons, Robert Bowen of Lafayette, Tenn., and Donnie Bowen of Paintsville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Roger Thornsbury, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Martha Karen Frazier
1947-2014
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Martha Karen Frazier, 67, of Flat Gap, who passed away Monday, July 7 at her residence.
Ms. Frazier was born Jan. 13, 1947 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Alfred and Alka Meade Frazier. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronnie “Bub” Music; and one brother, Johnny Wayne Frazier.
Surviving are one son, Jonathan Michael Orf of Florence; one daughter, Roka Music-Lask of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Frazier of Staffordsville, and Frankie Frazier of Hager Hill; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 12-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The service will be officiated by John Michael Blanton, with burial to follow in the Staffordsville Church Cemetery.

Robert Louis ‘Bob’ Jenkins
1940-2014
Private memorial services will be held at a later date for Robert Louis “Bob” Jenkins, 74, of Radcliff, formerly of Johnson County, who passed away Sunday, June 22 at his residence.
Mr. Jenkins was born March 21, 1940, son of the late Ernie and Thelma Jenkins.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jenkins; two daughters, Ramona Barrow and Dianna Overton, both of Radcliff; two brothers, William Jenkins of Paintsville, and Ernie Jenkins of Columbus, Ohio; and three sisters, Rosetta Ferguson of Flat Gap, Geraldine Owens of Whippoorwill, Ky., and Rushie Rector of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn.

Barbara Ann Castle Pugh
1939-2014
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 1 p.m. at the Mayo Methodist Church for Barbara Ann Castle Pugh, 75, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, June 21 in Steubenville, Ohio.
Mrs. Pugh was born June 14, 1939 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Clarence and Cynthia Auxier Castle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Pugh. She was the proud owner of Castle’s Jewelry and Gifts; a member of the Methodist Church of Paintsville; a member of Eastern Star and a former Chaplin of Kentucky DAR.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas William (Barbara Burchett) Pugh, Darrell Wesley Pugh and David Westin (Jennifer) Pugh, all of Paintsville; five grandsons, and one granddaughter.
The service will be officiated by John Hatton, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Ella Louise Blair
1928-2014
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 11 a.m. at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw, Ind., for Ella Louise Blair, 86, of Warsaw, who passed away Thursday, June 19 at her residence.
Mrs. Blair was born March 7, 1928 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Lonza and Lucy Roberts Blevins. She was a homemaker. She also worked at Late Country Fiberglass, and she was a member of the Warsaw Church of God.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Blair; two sisters, three brothers, and three great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Roger (Bernadine) Blair and Harold Blair, both of Warsaw; four daughters, Lorene (Elijah) Freeman of Hager Hill, Marvina Austin of Warsaw, Brenda Kreis of Claypool, Ind., and Sharon (Robert) Miller of Winona Lake, Ind.; five sisters, Marie Wallen of Winona Lake; Betty Foster, Bonnie Crabtree, Susie Blevins, and Judy Blevins, all of Ohio, and Ruthann Reynolds of Van Lear; one brother, James Blevins of Lucasville, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Pastor Jerry Yoder, with interment at the Hillcrest cemetery in Pierceton, Ind.

Jason Neal Blair
1990-2014
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 22, 1 p.m. at the Johnson County Middle School Gymnasium for Jason Neal Blair, 24, of Paintsville, who passed away Thursday, June 19 in Magoffin County.
Mr. Blair was born Feb. 12, 1990 in Ashland, son of Obie Neal and Mollie VanHoose Blair. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Blair; and his maternal grandmother, Vearlissia VanHoose.
Surviving are his wife, Jessica Heinrich Blair; his unborn daughter, Teagan Neal Blair; one brother, Paul Anthony Blair of Nippa; one sister, Sabrina (Nathan) Hayden of Meally; paternal grandmother, Ella Louise Blair; and maternal grandfather, Kermit VanHoose.
The service was officiated by Linzie Meade, with burial in the Blair-VanHoose cemetery at Nippa.

Paul Douglas Childers
1927-2014
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Paul Douglas Childers, 87, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, June 21 at his residence.
Mr. Childers was born April 3, 1927 in Boyd County, son of the late James Russell and Lucy Salyer Childers. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Earl, Charles, and Lon Childers; and one sister, Margarett Childers.
Surviving are his wife, Orpha Mae Salyer Childers of Paintsville; one son, Bryan Douglas (Carolyn) Childers of Flat Gap; four daughters, Judy Montgomery of Paintsville; Cheryl (Wes) Blair of Hager Hill, Paula Fields of Paintsville, and Martha Wells of East Point; two sisters, Verna Mae Pelphrey and Virginia Conley, both of Paintsville; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Joe Adkins, Steve Rose, and Terry Salyers, with burial in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
Military honors were performed by Chapter 18 Auxier DAV.

Esta Susan Johnson
1929-2014
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Esta Susan Johnson, 85, of Flat Gap, who passed away Monday, June 23 at her residence.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 8, 1929 at Flat Gap, daughter of the late James Henry and Allie Cantrell Salyer. She was a retired teacher with the Johnson County School system; and a member of the Flat Gap Homemakers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Johnson.
Surviving are four sons, Gary Johnson of Paintsville, Keith Johnson of Virgie, James Lee McKenzie of Volga and Jerry Ray McKenzie of David; two daughters, Susan Fairchild of Flat Gap, and Lorita Sublett of Morehead; two brothers, Cozy R. Salyer of Moon and Jesse B. Salyer of Volga; two sisters, Lula Gay Salyers of Madison, W. Va., and Moncie Vickers of Dandridge, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, noon-9 p.m. and on Thursday until time of service.
The service will be officiated by Tim Salyer, Jerry Lee Castle, Lonnie Salyer and Harold Salyer, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
